In most recent reports, since Affliction has folded due to Barnett failing a drug test, Fedor has been looking for a new home. The last time UFC tried to pick him up in 2007 it failed because they would not allow him to compete in Sambo tournaments while under contract.

The NEW contract that was drafted consisted of
    -30 million over 6 fight
    -Freedom to compete in Sambo
    -First fight title shot

And his manager made him turn it down because UFC would not co-promote with M-1 Global. To break it down to those not well seasoned on mixed martial arts, most champions will defend their title only three times per year, meaning Fedor would have been making 15m a year, plus endorsements, plus his cut of the gate(which based on what Lesnar made, he could be looking at roughly 7.5m a fight)

Kobe Bryant only made a little over 17 million in 2006, and this guy is an MMA fighter, a still relatively new sport. I cannot understand how his manager would not let him accept this deal, except for that the manager is affiliated with M-1 and trying to leech off of UFC's name to bring up his own organization.

well as far as i know that info hasn't been confirmed by any officials...but i guess we will find out about that as soon as somebody gives dana white the opportunity to vent (if negotiations really went down the tubes again)...among profanities he surely will drop some inside-info...

if it is true though...then either fedor blindly trusts vadim finkelstein or he thinks that there might be even more in the pot for him...

i would love to see him in the ufc though. especially since i dislike brock lesnar a lot...i mean a lot!!!! and i think that fedor would kick his butt.

No he doesn't. He wants to give Fedor and himself a "retirement" plan by bringing M1 up, but the problem is, M1 is rubbish. A 5m a fight offer is huge, Fedor will never get that anywhere else. And with this, plus him starring in the EA MMA game, UFC may blacklist him. Who is going to pay him 30 million? Strikeforce?

while i can see that m1 is not as 'good' as the ufc i still like m1!
they give nations world wide the opportunity to compete in a sport that nowadays is dominated by brazil, the us and maybe japan. that way those developing countries (concerning mma) can improve their fighters by getting international experience and maybe catch up with the other mma nations. i know it did alot for the german fighters that competed there.
in germany mma is still very unknown and unpopular. ufc 99 helped a little, but there is still alot to do.

Finklechtein needs to stick to either being a part owner of M1 or Emelianenko's agent. Right now he wants huge money for his client AND his personal ownership in M1 to succeed with co-promoting cards with UFC.

Unfortunately his client will have to settle for around 500-700k per fight from Strikeforce and CBS because I really see no reason why UFC would agree to his co-promoting demands. Tis a shame..this was his chance to show the world just how truly talented his is.

i think if fedor comes to the ufc and fights some decent opponents, hes gonna get his butt kicked. recently hes been beating the crappy guys who left the ufc cuz they sucked..

tim silvia...sucks azz...even beaten by ex boxer ray mercer whos like 50 yrs old
    andrei arlofsky...what a joke...
    hong man choi
and his next fight was to be josh barnett...has been

affliction wasnt dumb enough to let anyone decent fight fedor so that he wouldnt end up like kimbo slice, beaten by a nobody, and outta work.
hopefully, like kimbo he will take the ufc offer and we can see what he can really do against some decent fighters

Didnt fedor crush krokop a few years ago? maybe im thinkin of someone else. fedor is the real deal. not a roid rager like lesnar. i think fedor would wait for the oppurtunity to take lesnar to the floor and choke him our simple as that.
