Second attempt to enjoy a lighthearted holiday like 420 ...
Thank god we have a state like mine that leads the way!
    California Law:

Decriminalization: The state has decriminalized marijuana to some degree. Typically, decriminalization means no prison time or criminal record for first-time possession of a small amount for personal consumption. The conduct is treated like a minor traffic violation.

Medical marijuana: This state has medical marijuana laws enacted.
    Senate Bill 420 :http://www.chrisconrad.com/expert.witness/sb420-03.htm#text
Modern research suggests that cannabis is a valuable aid in the treatment of a wide range of clinical applications. These include pain relief, nausea, spasticity, glaucoma, and movement disorders. Marijuana is also a powerful appetite stimulant and emerging research suggests that marijuana's medicinal properties may protect the body against some types of malignant tumors, and are neuroprotective. For more information see NORML's Medical Marijuana section.

Hemp: This state has an active hemp industry. Hemp is a distinct variety of the plant species cannabis sativa L. that contains minimal (less than 1%) amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive ingredient in marijuana. Various parts of the plant can be utilized in the making of textiles, paper, paints, clothing, plastics, cosmetics, foodstuffs, insulation, animal feed, and other products. For more information see NORML's Industrial Use section.

President Obama may not have changed the decor of the Oval Office, but he's quickly taking steps to overturn policies that marked the legacy of his predecessor, George W. Bush.
Signaling a drastic shift in the Bush administration's policies on drugs, Obama's appointed Attorney General, Eric Holder, said federal agents will relax their enforcement of marijuana laws and go after only those distributors who violate both state and federal law. California is one of 13 states that have either legalized or decriminalized the use of medical marijuana and permits its sale for medical purposes. However, it still violates federal law and under the previous administration, authorities targeted medical marijuana sellers under federal laws even if they complied with state laws.

As a presidential candidate, Obama vowed to bring change in policies related to medical marijuana use. Advocacy groups applauded the change but raised their concerns about more than two dozen California cases that are hanging in a limbo in federal court. The move comes at a time when the Obama administration is taking a tougher stance on the problem of drug and weapons trade along the U.S.-Mexico border. Other states that permit marijuana for medical purposes are Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. :danceb: :D

I have no problem with anyone who has a medical need for weed, I am for structured medical use. I am completely against the use for personal reasons. in fact I think we should be lighter on medical use and harsher on personal use.

there is no argument that is for legalized personal use of pt that has taken into consideration the impact and risk of allowing full scale use of the product. when that happens I will look at allowing it. but nub on pot....

I'm against drug use myself, but I think it should be legal, and certainly would look down on anyone who did use drugs, especially not weed.

State has no place telling people what to put or not put into their body.

I too do not agree with DRUG use. Especially since i do not view MJ as a drug. This was just supposed to be a funny lighthearted post of funny pics , but due to the rules I was unable to run the Original Funnier Version of this post.
So I wanted to point out the benefits of the medical use and it
not being technically a illegal substance in these 13 states "Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington."

Are you in favor of universal health care? Just curious because if "the state" can't tell people what to put in their bodies, I don't want them (us) paying for any health related expenses.

I really think we need a new government before we can really think about Universal health care.
If our government was more European, like where Universal health care
comes from I would say yes to it. Unfortunately with our failing
economy, the value of the Dollar dropping everyday and our inexperienced
Leaders I'd say we are a long time away from Universal health care...

lol youdon't call MJ a drug? it impairs your senses not more so than alcohol but in ways different than alchohol. there are plenty of incidences where MJ has been the cause of vehicular accidents. when youcan decide how much MJ is too much then you can talk about it. I wish america was more liek Europe in its view on alcohol and Pot. most europeans have an understanding and decent appreciation of the excess of alcohol that america may never have. They know not to drink or smoke too much becuase they are more mature about its use. American's use it stupid to the point where they endanger themselves ad others.

And no offense, but if you think we should be more like europe in our Gov't ? why is Germany looking more and more liek us of 20-30 years ago. I wholeheartedly agree that europe does SOME things better but ultimately I like our system better. I would love to be able to use some ideas of europe (not their healthcare systems).

Maybe we could be like some of the cool euroean contries that don't allow ANY immigration?

there are bad ideas in all govt's, Government by nature is necessary to perform certain vital tasks, but ultimately its a gold sink.... I would rather have magery

Next time remember the OT label in the title. Yes. It is important. *counts down*

OK, sure accidents have been liked to the use of MJ BUT not one death ever in the United States has ever happened to the use of MJ .
Alcohol can be attributed to millions of deaths and car accidents
on a global scale. It's ok too that we are suffering from a hushed epidemic
of people in this country that are hooked on prescription drug's?
I'd rather see some guy roll a fatty and drive then the same person have 1 alcoholic beverage or a couple of pills and drive any day ...

If drugs were legal here in the United States like in Europe
we wouldn't be wasting millions of dollars on the War On Drugs
that our own government lets into this country every year.
We know from the Iran/Contra incident that our own government
smuggles millions of pounds of real drugs into this country every year too.
If that money was spent on Universal health care instead of this fake
war on drugs we'd have instant solutions across the boards.
No more wasted money on lengthy prison incarcerations, no over
crowed prison systems, no more choked up courts and just like in Europe our crime & drug rates would drastically drop too.

This country is nothing compared to the thousands of years most countries
have already been on this planet. We have just over 200 years , as a country we are still in it's infancy and our lack luster government needs change too, China owns us lock stock and barrel for gods sake ...

alcohol is different on a fatal scale..... yes youcan die from alcohol poisoning... you can die from drinking too much water.... or tylenol (most common overdose for children). MJ is dangerous in its own sphere, It can and does cause deaths every day. I am against the imprisonment of MJ use (I don't think punishment fits the crime).

I am however all for giving offenders tickets the likes of which that they would Force someone to take notice. Now dealing drugs is a different matter but taht also can be handled differently... wish we could treat offenders like they do in the middle east. mm sharia law...

You're wasting your breath. While I enjoy arguing politics, it never goes anywhere, especially when you are arguing with someone who wants a more European style government and is pro drugs. It's just two different worlds.

And I have little tolerence for promoting such on a family forum. If you want to post with pot smokers, go find a pot forum. This is a family/work friendly game forum.

But this is not your personal decision to make. No where does this violate the ROC and if you even think about doing anything because you feel it should be that way rather than the way it actually is, maybe you shouldn't be a mod.

    Pot 4-life.

    Thanks.
