I just got a LINKSYS 5 port workgroup switch. Neither desk top will connect yet the lap top will. Both desk tops are XP and the laptop is Vista. Renewing the IP address does not help.

    Any ideas?

Well, I see Kelmo is in good geek hands, even if the owner of said hands is perceived as being marginally less cute. :D

All computers are up and on line. I have four screens to look at on my desk. Dual monitor desk top, a laptop and a 15 inch flat screen TV... Cyber space heaven!

Sounds like you need to just break down and make a VMware server.

Do far more, with much less...

Ohh...did you see that they added basic 3D graphic & DirectX support to the newest version of VMWorkstation...which means sort of being able to do real games in a VM situation, when it was not possible before. I beta tested it last year on my laptop dual "boxing" using virtual machines, with WoW...it was awful in terms of performance since I could only allocate the other OS 64MB of video RAM max, and paltry amounts of system RAM (poor laptop only has 256MB vid card & 2GB total RAM) but it worked! On a robust machine, it would work very nicely I think.

Heh, after I solved all the technical aspects of getting the beta version working on my laptop, I lost interest in actually implementing it. :D
