Knowledge Discovery and Dissemination - This tool is reminiscent of the supposedly-defunct Total Information Awareness program. It seeks to access disparate databases to find patterns of known bad behavior. The program plans to work with domestic law enforcement and Homeland Security.

Wow all that tax money I pay every year, I am so glad to see that its being put to good use. Basically some pencil pusher in the pentagon plays WoW and wanted a reason to play his favorite online game all day so he came up with this crap. And then his dork boss agreed because they are in the guild or whatever it is in Wow and now they are being paid 100k a year to hunt down terriorists in a game that isnt real. Amazing, and gas is over $3 a gallon, I'm so glad we are worrying about the important things.
    what CRAP!

Well according to the US government i am in the mists of terrorists here in NYC. So why dont you shut up and keep on living in your hole. I aint telling anyone to do anything. I'm telling people to to be aware of the state of our nation. WTF does that have to do with picking up guns and shooting people. Is your brain so rotted by violence and tv that you can't think straight ? I see now why people find you annoying. And if you think the government is being totally honest and telling the american public everything then you are just plain ....

Thomas Paine comes to my mind often nowdays...

"These are the times that try men's souls. The Summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the Service of their country, but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like Hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have the consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheaply we esteem too lightly; it is dearness only that gives everything of value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated."

    -From the American Crisis

Sadly I believe we are in one of the darkest times in American history, my beloved country is tearing itself apart and divided, perhaps almost as badly as in 1861.

I work with folks from 16 different countries and I think I've learned we are all trying to get to the same place, we just have different ideas on how to get there.

Sadly, I have not the wisdom to answer the question, "How do we fix things?" so if I may indulge with a quote from one of my heros....

"Be the change you wish to see in the world" -Mahatma Gandhi

I do my best to follow that ideal daily and pray that my faith in the overall goodness of mankind is not misplaced.

Now from what i understand about revolutions dont they involve guns or did the american revolution happen with flowers and tea? Tell me im stupid you are the one freaking out over every thing your goverment tells you. And you are seriously the stupidest person in the world to me right now about 3-4x than george bush for saying to me "And if you think the government is being totally honest and telling the american public everything then you are just plain .... "

because its stupid ass sentences like that loaded with so much [censored], because tell me when i said the goverment is being totally honest and telling americna public everything?

seriously you suck at arguing so much that you're just typing [censored] to be a stupid cause you know deep down you're completely helpless when it comes to having any control over the goverment so you'd rather be bitter and project your hate towards something else, like arguing on the internet about the best way to solve problems, instead of spending your time becoming involved in the politics you want to change......k now ssssshhhhh.

Fie! This is nowt new! For the longest age, the Knights of the Silver Serpent have been considered 'terrorists'.

After all, we oppose the ursurper British, who is a false king. We do not acknowledge his laws, we laugh at his guards, and bring true justice to these lands! Aye, we are few in number, but tis quality, not quantity!

Terrorists? Tis a matter of perspective. If standing for truth with honor and courage makes me a terrorist, then let this Reynard call me a terrorist. He will fall into an unmarked grave alongside all who support the cowardly 'Lord' British!

    SOL INVICTUS!!!

P.S. I am still working on the finer details of trying to fill Py's rather large shoes. I ask only that supporters and friends of KSS be patient with me!

Yes revolutions often involve guns, hangings, arrests, murder. . because revolting is seen by those in charge as civil disobedience. But one must be willing to pay the price of our civil disobedience, dissent, to try to enact changes or one is just spitting in the wind changing nothing if something means that much to anyone it can be quite costly to enact changes or *justice* or humans rights.

Abe Lincoln was slain dead. Someone did not like his views.

Martin Luther King same thing, slain dead.

This nation fought family against family over different views, differing wants rights needs in a civil war thousands were slain dead.

The USA government called the National Guard to quell the civil disobedience on my campus, 4 were shot dead..just kids college kids.

Revolution IS civil disobedience and them in charge feeling threatened can or will SHOOT. One must be willing to end up a rl corpse if one feels that strongly to create changes cuz not a whole lot gonna stand with any one ..once the shootings or hangings begin and they DO. . century after century nation after nation, even this one people DIE for a cause to make changes, or some of those changes would never have happened cuz most folks are all talk, bemoaning their and everyone else's rl fates yet never rolling up their sleeves nor putting their head in the line of fire when the going gets rough, then they dart off to the mall talk about it on their cell phone while eating pizza or sushi bout how unjust their govt. is.

And yet we seldom to never see them doing squat to change a thing...it may make em get their hair messed up, or miss American Idol on the tv ..they can only talk of injustices but can not be bothered to change those it would conflict with their schedule of burning the latest movie they not allowed to burn onto their cds.

I am not worried bout whom is spyin on me esp in online games *I play a bluebie anyhow, hardly an in game revolutionary, nor worry that we probably payin for it all, so long as it is still legal to own and bear arms/guns here, to peaceably protest here, to even torch our own flag still legal in most states, although I myself not into that, I would never burn my flag.

I can not think of where I would rather be a citizen than where I am a citizen, USA, even though the govt SHOT at us too, they were wrong and so were many of us wrong as well, taking some things too far in civil disobedience.

Revoluton is an ..enter at ye own risk if we wish to join, just know only talk is cheap actions oft have a very high price. Talk is darn cheap till one is staring at your own govt. peeps with fixed bayonnets firing upon YOU for protestations and revolution or merely for ya peaceful disobediences.

But we also oft never get changes just spittin in the wind talking ! HAHA

Revolutionary sorts of actions legal thru lobbying, petitions, courts, etc. etc. or via illegal civil disobediences will have a high price at times; *well worth it many a time too*

    Scary!

Worrying thing is, if they're looking for terrorists, they'll find them. Whether they actually exist or not! And where the CIA lead, MI5 usually follow.

Probably not in uo though. The average age of the player base is somewhat higher, especially on Siege. Maybe this is one situation where the lack of public exposure our game gets is actually a good thing.

Ya know, in a WIRED article a few months ago (That being the same magazine that the linked article in this thread is, for credibility), they reported that online terrorist finding is actually very successful. Thats how they recruit many of their young extremists, through the internet. Its no coincidence that everytime a new terrorist statement or video is released, its done on the internet...

And heck, I'd rather the gov't spend more money on *potentially* making the world a safer place than on universal healthcare. I can afford my doctor bills, I don't want to pay for someone elses too...

I agree on the healthcare crap. I am not at all interested in living in a socialist country.

Making the world safe... cool with me, so long as they are not stepping on the rights of people to feel secure in their home and person without just and probable cause.

The neo-cons need to understand that this is still America, and we are still governed by that Bill of Rights thing.

  24. Meh, I couldn't care less if my fone was wiretapped or my comings and goings around the world were recorded or I had to carry a 'national' id (actually that would just simplyfy things and make checking IDs at bars a lot easier for doormen, but i digress). But thats just me...
google records every single action you take, it reads your emails (if you use gmail or send to a gmail address), it collects more information about you in a week than any government could in a life time. (this all assuming you use either google/gmail/google maps/ google finance/ google calendar/ etc). I remember when people raised a stink about that, 'waaa waaa my privacy waaa google waa'... but... to that I say 'who cares?' No human being ever reads your emails, no human being ever benefits directly from your 'private stuff'... And even if they did, so what? what do you lose? how does it affect you?

If there is some techie in the pentagon reading my forum posts right now, why should i care? And on that note, this forum is not private at all, and WoW is not private, its free reign for data mining.

I am not trying to say anyone is wrong about having privacy concerns- I am just saying I personally couldnt care less.

[/ QUOTE ]Yeah but that is a different argument than personal privacy. To that I counter with my previous post how internet snoopign does indeed find 'bad people' and could potentially claim it is a good use of money. But, as I said, that still has nothing to do with eprsonal privacy:)

and to lighten things up a lil...
