anyone watch ufc last night?? that was funny as hell to see lesnar kick the crap out of the old man randy. i always liked randy but come on, 45 yrs old and still trying to fight..lol.. looked like a grown man vs a 5 yr old kid. lesnar just flat out man handled the old man. he should have been arrested for assault on a seinor citizen lol

To me..It wasnt so much the age as it was a bad matchup for Randy's style.

I dont see Lesner having the belt for long...Theres a long list of fighters that I believe can beat him with ease. Unfortunately, most of them arent in the UFC but that can change real quick.

Randy has been out of the game for too long over a dispute with Dana White. It was too much for him to overcome the huge Brock Lesnar...this time. Randy is still one of the better heavyweights in the UFC, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him keep on fighting.

Lesnar is not that talented... he's just big. I agree with the last poster, he will not have the belt long at all. I think any good submission fighter will take him....and both Frank Mir and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira are two of the best heavyweight submission fighters ever.

I'm looking for ward to his match up with the winner of their match.

oh i agree lesnar is not that good now. but the more fights he has the better he gets. the first fight he had with mir was all lesnar, he just got caught up cuz of lack of experience. mir wont beat him again. mir has passed his gloy days. after his motorcycle accident mir has never been the same fighter. im sure someone will beat lesnar one way or another but it wont be a easy win for them. like randy said, thats one big SOB...

Yeah..Big for Randy. Honestly..Anyone that weights 220 should be cutting weight for 205(which is something Randy has already done). To me, the UFC HW division is weak. The best HWs in the world arent in the UFC. Guys like Fedor, Aleks, Hunt, AA and Barnett, to name a few, would have an EASY time against Lesner.

If Dana White wasn't such a ****....they would have had Fedor by now. Clearly, he should be in the UFC.

Big of Randy indeed. He has always been the class of the UFC, along with GSP and Anderson Silva.

And I think Mir would beat Brock again....I remember mark Coleman taking UFC by storm back in the day... it didn't take long to figure him out either.

I'll take submission over size most any day.

Lesner is a force to be reconged with. He only lost to mir because he was unexperienced. If most of you can remember your first fight..it probably wasnt too pretty. Hes a big guy so I would say he probably hadnt been in too many fights. The more fights he gets under his belt the better he will become. He was 275 pounds for that fight after he hydrated. He is like the shaq of ufc. 275 and he moves around like a middle weight. I personally dont see too many people being able to do to much to him...unless he has a glass jaw.
He had no buisness fighting Randy tho. Not with a record of 2 and 1. They only made that fight for the money.
Randy isnt fighting 205 because of chuck. Chuck has his number and he had no where else to go but heavy weight. This is the exact problem franklin ran into with sylvia.

Aleksander Emelianenko- hasnt fought anyone with a name but josh barnett and he lost to him.
Mark Hunt - lost to Cro Cop and we all know he turned out to be a dud in ufc. Past that Goodrich is really the only other name I saw worth mentioning he fought.
Barnett - would actually have a chance
Fendor- Man I dunno on this dude. Hes beat a who is who of people that are retiring from MMA however he has Barnett and Nogueira x2 to add to that list. Some of his wins, with bigger name people, were money deals where people fought out of thier weight class. I think if he boxxed with Lesnor he would prob own him. If it went to the ground Lesner would pull out the win... If he could last 5 rounds.

Lesnar will never do well into the third round and such....he is to big and has too much muscle mass. It will suffocate him...He is going to have to win fast always... bet ya!

MMA Math at its finest. Its all about fighting styles. Alek would beat Lesner standing and he'd submit him on the ground. Barnett would too.

Fedor against Lesner would be hilarious. I'm not a big fan of Fedors but I could see Lesner taking Fedor down and instantly getting arm barred. Lesners only chance in a fight against Fedor would be to stand with him.

I think Hunt would be the most interesting fight out of all the fighters mentioned but dismissing him simply because he lost to Crocop is stupid. Just because fighter A beat fighter B but lost to fighter C, it doesnt mean that fighter C is automaticly better then fighter B. If you dont understand this, you need to watch more MMA.

Roflol If lesner stood with fendor lesner would get owned. Lesner throwing those ham hawks out there is way too slow. Your talking about people owning lesner on the ground. It may happen one more time but the guy is cross training. Take 10 years off randy and the only people owning him are the punchers. To say anyone would own lesner on the ground is stupid. Its not like the guy showed up and said I'm big I want to fight. He has a extensive wrestling background. The fact he goes in weighing a solid 265 sure isnt going to hurt him any. He got beat by mir cause he got excited and rushed. Lack of fights and lack of experience. He made none of those mistakes with randy.
As far as Aleksander Emelianenko, he hasnt won 1 notable fight with anyone.
Only 2 things are going to stop lenar at this point his jaw or stamina. Your also posting guys that have padded careers. Some of those guys dont have any notable fights.. except the ones they lost.

So let me get this strait. Lesner beats a 45 year old wrestler that he outweighs by 50 pounds(4 fights into his career) and all of a sudden hes one of the best? Who has Lesner REALLY fought? Try to understand that even guys who you claim have "padded careers" have fought better competition then Lesner.

Just because you're not satisfied with a fighters record doesnt mean they wouldnt be a very bad matchup for Lesner.

But yeah...Only two things are gonna stop lesner...His jaw and his stamina. I guess based on fighting Randy(who isnt known for his submissions) hes got that whole submission defense thing figured out. How could anyone even suggest that it could be one of his biggest weaknesses, right?

  13. Speed_Racer

    Speed_Racer Guest

With 4 fights under his belt he has fought 2 former champs and Heath who has fought just about everyone. The one MMA match was a no namer. Lesner isnt getting a padded career. He is coming out the gate swinging. Randy may be 45 but look at who he has beat. You need to bow down and recognise that brock may be champion for some time!! If anyone was any good they would be in the ufc, bottom line baby. Even randy knew this when they gave him the offer to leave ufc back some time ago. Time will tell on Lesner but he is off to a great start.
We will see when he fights mir again next year.

Wow...Ask anyone that knows anything about MMA and has been following it since before TUF started. The best heavyweights ARENT in the UFC and thats how guys like Lesner can be UFC champ with a 2-1 record with wins over Heath and Randy. How does that not sound pathetic?

Dana White has only himself to blame for how weak the competition is in the UFC.

I dont see how its that bad now? No one wants to pay 40 bucks to see a cpl slobs laying all over each other in the ring.. not for 40 bucks. UFC heavy weaight was crap before they picked a few of the people up from different organizations. I dont see how its that bad now.
Actually I would have to agree with you on the part where Lesner got a title shot after 4 fights. Its not as stacked as the other weight classes but once again its not as bad as it was. They have 9 of the top 20 fighters at heavy weight.

brock lesnar..... he beat heath (who sucks) and lost to mir... (who's washed up).... did he deserve a title shot? no.
randy hadn't fought in how long?? 9 out of 10x randy wins that fight IMO.
lesnar sucks, go back to the WWF u ****in newbie...

aside from all that.. what are your picks on the next PPV? 3 big fights coming up.
    i'll take silva over jackson
mir over nogueira (i know i said he's washed up but i think TUF is going to get in shape for a change)
griffin hands sugar his first loss

    I'm taking:

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira over Frank Mir
This could go either way...I like Frank Mir too.

    Forrest Griffin over Rashad Evans
I watched Rahad progress over the years, and I just don't see how he does it.

    Wanderlei Silva over Quinton Jackson
I love Silva !! You NEVER get cheated in one of his fights! Never!

How can you go from saying stuff like this....

    To saying stuff like this?

I havent checked the numbers but 9 out of the top 20 sounds pretty bad all by itself. Then you'd have to ask yourself how many of that 9 would break into the top 5 of the list. And when you consider what little Lesner had to do to become UFC champ it makes the HW division sound even worse.

I think Lesner is very talented. He just has alot to prove still despite being UFC champ.

    Aleks response to that fight...

"And Werdum. Well. Um. OK. I mean, he’s a good fighter. But I, I was just there to holiday. I didn’t even train for him at all. I just, really, I went there to holiday. And I was asked “Do you want to fight?” and I said “OK, let’s give it a go.” And they first had one opponent lined up for me and then suddenly changed him to Werdum."

Heres a good read about Aleks from sherdog.

Those are my favorite fighter to watch.

People saying Lesner only lost to Mir due to experience need a reality check if they think Lesner "now" has the needed experience to counter a submission specialist. I'm not sure if Mir will ever be back to his old form before his accident, but we'll see (if Mir wins his next fight that is). Oh, and yes, I've been watching UFC and Pride from the word go (and that's when Pride was done without English translation). Fader would kill Lesner. It's not even worth speculating on IMO.

    Mir vs Nogueira
Tough to pick. Half the Pride guys that come over don't fare that well in the cage. Guess I'll go with Mir. Hopefully his stamina is solid.

    Griffin vs Evans
Love both these guys. Both improve their game time and time again. I like Evans in this one though. I think his speed will be tough for Griffin to keep up with.

    Silva vs Jackson
I'll take Jackson. Should be a fun one, but I think Silva's on the downslide, and Jackson's cardio has been great the last year.

THE fight to watch will be Penn vs GSP. Both those guys are amazing, and I thought Penn barely won the last fight they had. The judges saw different due to Penn gassing in round 3, and GSP's 2 takedowns though. Rematch will be wild.

Fader?!?!?! You spent the time to talk about how long you've been into MMA then start your next sentance with the word "Fader"?

Come on Saint...Usually I have to work a little to give you ****. You're making it TOO easy now.

As it turned out diaz couldnt seperate work from rl.

Similar to his treatment of Sanchez, Diaz made sure that he taunted [Riggs] before their fight, starting at the official press conference at the event in which Diaz confronted Riggs and the two exchanged words. They continued their conversation at the official weigh-ins in which both fighters had to be separated by UFC president Dana White and other officials present.

Riggs prevailed in a hard-fought battle, winning by unanimous decision and giving Diaz his second straight loss. After the fight, the two were taken to the hospital for observation and post-fight tests. It was there that Diaz confronted Riggs and proceeded to punch him in the face, knocking Riggs to his knees. Riggs then tackled Diaz into a wall and started to knee him when the police arrived and quickly rushed in to separate the two. Neither party, including the police, decided to press charges.

    My favorite fighters...in this order:
    Joe Lauzon
    Forrest Griffin
    Anderson Silva
    GSP
    Urijah Faber

If those guys are on any PPV I'll get it. Joe is my favorite fighter because he comes out guns blazing going for the kill everytime. Found it extremely hilarious when Jans Pulver underestimated him. Forrest Griffin because if you break one of his arms he'll knock you the **** out with his other arm.

Mir - winna (Mir looked really really solid)
    Evans - winna (Nice fight)
Jackson - winna (bye bye Wanderlei, I'd bet retirement)

mir does not even stand a chance against lesnar again. lesnar will dominate him if they fight again. he pretty much did that the first fight but just got caught up due to lack of experience. i cant wait for penn v pierre 2 . the last fight was a joke. pierre had 2 or 3 good take downs and stayed on top when they went down. penn rocked that boy even on his back. pierre was a bloody mess at the end of the fight. the judges must been watching a different fight...

Everyone always underestimates Mir. If Lesnar doesn't win in the first 30 seconds, Mir wins again.

Penn/St. Pierre I was a close fight. Since that fight, Penn has improved, but St. Pierre has evolved. He's far and away better than he used to be.

Penn/St. Pierre II will be a slaughter by St. Pierre.

I can't wait for the Penn/GSP rematch. There are only 3 guys in the UFC I truly consider head and shoulders above the rest talent wise: GSP, Penn, and Anderson Silva. Silva could hold the 185 & 205 belts at the same time if he really wanted to.

It's tough to go against GSP, but I liked Penn's conditioning in his last fight, and that's where his only weak spot ever was. I'll take Penn, even though he's not a true 170 lb fighter. His speed is still better than GSP's, and GSP's is lightning to begin with.

I'm looking forward to the Franklin/Henderson fight. I'll take Franklin there.

I'm also glad Dana White is showin' some love to my boy Marc Coleman. He's just a ground and pounder, and old as hell now, but I always loved watching him fight.

Mir looked at Lesner at the end of the fight and yelled "you got my belt" and he's right. Lesner isn't going to win. Too many skills to overcome, and Mir is a real heavyweight size wise (250 lbs), unlike Randy who can cut to 205 if he wanted to.
