why women feel the need to give guys a picture of themselves without us asking for it? I mean you don't see men just pulling out pictures of themselves and giving it to women without them asking for one fisrt. So why in the H E double LL do women do this?!?!?!?

What do they really want us to do with, or to this photo? I'm dead serious ladies.

Sorry I can not help thee.

I have no fricken idea why some females do that idiotic bs.

I never have done it. I usually feel photos are for those whom I deem worthy of em ie close relatives or friends that may want said photo...otherwise no one gets any photos.

Now my brother works in photography and he gets photos all the time. But then they are *wannabe models* or wannabe pron stars. Guess they hoping he hook em up with a photoshoot or some darn foo' thing.

Maybe they think they are hot *or they are insecure* or figure every guy just has to be interested in em or they think they look grand in their dorky photos, ego or low self esteem, maybe can be either or..or both.

Guess you will have to wait for the *typical females* to respond ! HAHA

The only other thing I can think up as to why some women do that giving out their photo is they are *staking a claim* as if no one else has bothered to give a guy some photo...ie they clueless. But it may be their way to think it is an act like *marking their territory or their interest* in that if a guy is remotely interesting or attractive to em, they drown him early on with their wonderous to them photo so he will have some photo or picture to *remember her by* (assuming he has no other tons of photos on his dartboard at home) haha.

They jumpin the gun, staking a claim, giving a male their picture like ah now he has me, he will never forget me now cuz he has my picture bleh bleh bleh...he will be MINE. yeh right ! Anyhow maybe that is it..sort of like some ritual of stakin a claim of interest assuming the male would then remember HER over all others, etc bs bs. if he has her wonderous photo *to remember her by apart from the other women he may have met..like how can he forget ME I GAVE him my photo...etc. bs bs bleh bleh. So that may be it they stakin a claim *marking a territory* with handing out their pictures ie possessive lil hopeful twits. lol

I dunno ! I never DID that crap ! I usually felt more like the deer in guys' sights and to me if he was a hunter he would find his quarry...he chase he hunt .. I just go about my business and if he persued IF I was interested in his sorry butt, whomever he may been back then, then ok if not, tis his loss ! HAHA The one that did marry me and still is married to me after 3.5 decades, kept chasing my arse for 3 yrs...and I kept running AWAY... I had to make sure he was interested in the hunt anyhow and that I was really interested in him too, and that he really was quite SERIOUS to try to win what he really wanted in life, if he wanted her um me ! lol

Any guy can catch a bunny or a rat...if he sucks as a hunter and........ if the bunny or rat drops her picture all over chances are she is too easy.........so only the loser hunters would catch them up anyway...lol.. bringing down a deer takes skill he had to prove he had what it took to catch more than ...easy pickens prey, at least to my braincells or he was not worth.. my time nor my .. having HIM. lol

Anyhow maybe that is what some of em are doing ...trying to stake a claim on ya..by giving out their photo like ..........oh he wont forget me NOW he has my photo. lol at them !

  10. See.. I have a different question...

Why should females give them a picture EVEN when they ask for it?

    Wuahhahhaha

So I'm totally clueless about your question..

Er, I can't say that I personally am acquainted with any women who have such a strange habit. I did however know some girls back in junior high & high school who gave their class pics out to both boys, and girls spontaneously, usually at yearbook signing time.

You are on your own with that one, as I wouldn't classify that in the realm of "typical" or even "stereotypical" female behavior.

  12. As a happily married man, I must say that its beating yout head into a wall if you actually try to understand the psychy of a women, we (males and females) are quite different, both physically and mentally. Women are (sterotypicaly) ruled more by emotion, at least my wife is. Now this is certainly NOT a negative since men (sterotypicaly) are ruled by other less intelligent motives. Now that said I would think the giving of a photograph from a young lady would be a sort of memoto to a young man. Perhaps she hopes you think about her and would like something to help remember her when you are apart, i'm of course assuming your situation is romantic.

Well, if it is someone with whom he is in a romantic relationship of any significant duration (which he makes no indication that is the case) I would say it is pretty normal behavior to offer a photo for memento purposes, and if he can't understand that motive, he needs to be slapped right upside the head, and then before he recovers, slapped again, and again, and well, you get the idea... (feel free to keep slapping, everyone!)

The way he worded it though, gives the impression of slightly deranged ladies accosting random male passersby with photos. That would indeed be hard to explain, and worthy of consternation. Even if that is the case, it probably wouldn't hurt to slap him anyway, though. [IMG]

  14. Indeed, I'm used to giving advice to younger males, and you would be surprised at what is lost on them. [IMG]

This has happen to me a lot in the past, but it was this last time that i found it quite disturbing.....

I've known this girl for a couple weeks, been to lunch went to lunch with her one day, then later that night, she calls me and says "are you gonna be home, cause I have something i wanna give you".... So naturally I get excited (what man wouldn't).... First of all, after carefully explaining to her the directions to my house, she misses the exit and ends up in BFE.

Then, once I finally get her to my house, after getting all cleaned up and smelling good, with great expectations on what she wanted to give me, she pulls in my driveway, leaves the car running, and walks to my door and hand me a damn photo of herself! And to top it all off, she has a small toddler in the car!!!

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but i sure expected a lot more than what I got! Not to mention she drove about 12 miles to give me this wonderful photo. *rolls eyes*

Someone gave me an interesting Braille picture once. Or perhaps it was a cactus. But, I digress.

    Possible scenarios that might help:
    1. If the relationship is fairly new, this smacks of desperation. "Don't forget what I look like!!!!" Of course, if those IN the relationship are fairly new at relationships, then I'd expect them to be pretty clueless. We all were once.

    2. If the relationship is further along, then it could be a simple case of 'here's something for your desk to keep you from blowing your brains out when the job drives you insane'. After all, I kept a picture of my good lady on my desk for quite some time. When I had a desk. Pesky termites...

    3. The female in question has come to the conclusion that the male in question suffers from memory loss. This could be due to dozens of stick-it notes all about the house, labeled with useful signs such as 'door', 'toilet', 'floor', and so on. She could simply be following the trend - photo labelled as 'girlfriend'.

    4. She's working on her bonus points down at the local photo store. Have 2000 more photos developed, and get a free camera case!

    5. She's insane. Run. Now.

Strange....or perhaps she did this just to have an excuse to see you and to remind you that she is there and that she is obviously interested?

If you are also interested, I hope you showed delight at seeing her and told her what a beautiful picture she takes... Then perhaps next time you won't be disappointed...

Consider these words from the book Guide to Guys by that total genius "I am not making this up" Dave Barry:

We're not talking about different wave lengths here. We're talking about different planets, in completely different solar systems. Elaine cannot communicate meaningfully with Roger about their relationship any more than she can meaningfully play chess with a duck. Because the sum total of Roger's thinking on this particular topic is as follows:

    Huh?

But the point I'm trying to make is that, if you're a woman, and you want to have a successful relationship with a guy, the No. 1 tip to remember is:

    1. Never assume that the guy understands that you and he have a relationship.

The guy will not realize this on his own. You have to plant the idea in his brain by constantly making subtle references to it in your everyday conversation, such as:

-- "Roger, would you mind passing me a Sweet 'n' Low, inasmuch as we have a relationship?"

-- "Wake up, Roger! There's a prowler in the den and we have a relationship! You and I do, I mean."

-- "Good News, Roger! The gynecologist says we're going to have our fourth child, which will serve as yet another indication that we have a relationship!"

-- "Roger, inasmuch as this plane is crashing and we probably have only about a minute to live, I want you to know that we've had a wonderful 53 years of marriage together, which clearly constitutes a relationship."

Never let up, women. Pound away relentlessly at this concept, and eventually it will start to penetrate the guy's brain. Some day he might even start thinking about it on his own. He'll be talking with some other guys about women, and, out of the blue, he'll say, "Elaine and I, we have, ummm . . . We have, ahhh . . . We . . . We have this thing."

And he will sincerely mean it.

There is a distinct possibility that the photo was not the reason for the visit, merely the excuse for it. The reason was to allow you to see the toddler. She wanted to make you aware she came with 'baggage' without telling you outright.

I could obviously be completely wrong on that.

That would be a very logical reason...

Then again, she might be like me, and simply be toting her darling 3 year old nephew (who looks just like her and everyone assumes he is her kid) with her everywhere on her day off, while she does errands, and she actually selected her new vehicle in part for the ease in which said nephew's car seat could be put in and pulled out of it. Except she would differ from me in that her errands would include randomly handing out photos of herself to guys, and I usually just go to the grocery store and take the kid to the park, and stuff like that.
