Paying for UO

    For many years I have paid for UO using a credit card and 6 months subscriptions on auto renew. I no longer wish to pay this way and cannot see a way to cancel the subscription. I have bought a 6 month gametime code from EA store and applied this to my account - will this automatically cancel the credit card subsciption which was due to renew on 1st Feb ?? If not, how do I cancel subscrition / remove credit card details from my account ?

    I am not sure about once you apply the game time code but with my CC I just apply the card and wait for the confirmation it was applied then I cancel subscription this removes the cc from being applied to the game but keeps it registered under the main account name so its easy to re-apply later if you want !

    under the window that tells you your ultima online subscription info like when you will be rebilled etc at the bottom of that window you should have option to change password activate key and subscribe or cancel if you are not seeing any of this you are on the wrong page and need to use the drop down menu at the top and select the appropriate account name for that game

    I'm not saying that's the wrong thing, so don't get the wrong idea here, but
    it sounds dangerous. You'd think they could say Cancel Auto Billing instead of Cancel Subscription. just scary given their record.

    it comes up with a window saying that your current game time will still be able to be used or something like that!

    I agree they should have this option this is just a work around and is what I do! Use at your own risk and read the text that pops up before hitting enter

    I've cancelled an account five or six times since the migration. Storm is correct. It always allows you to play out the remaining game time.

    We are all just used to the old account center where it asked you if you wanted to cancel immediately or at the end of your game time. What was the point? Who ever actually clicked cancel immediately anyway?

    Buttons there for all those options except cancel :(
    Selecting subscribe, it then comes up with:
    Billing Cycle 1 month / 3 months / 6 months
    or
    prepaid gametime code (which is how I applied 6 months gametime code)
    On this page it then says:
    "By making your subscription purchase today and by clicking CONTINUE, you authorize EA to automatically charge the then-current renewal subscription fee (plus any applicable taxes) to your credit or debit card without any additional action by you prior to the expiration of your product subscription. Your subscription will continue to automatically renew until canceled. You may cancel the automatic renewal service at any time by contacting customer support. To cancel your subscription, visit the account subscription main page and then click the "Cancel Subscription" button next to the appropriate product account."
    "account subsciption main page" is a hyperlink taking you back to subscriptions page without cancel option.

    Dang. All as clear as mud.

    "You may cancel the automatic renewal service at any time by contacting customer support." - this requires a call to the USA ?? Tried GM but he gave me the number for billing in the USA :( Dont really want the expense of calling USA from UK.

    The new account pages are anything but clear, dear - I feel for you. :wall:

    To avoid the expense of a trans-Atlantic call, I believe there's a live onscreen help messaging page. Might be able to find it in the help pages (horrid as those are, too, I know).

    Will do my best to find a link for you when I get a few minutes today. *hugs*

    Edit: I had a peep - no live onscreen help messaging page (I know, what was I thinking?!).

    From the support page:-

    "Technical and Billing Support: You can contact the Technical or Billing Support by e-mail via [email protected]. If you would like to contact us via phone, please call: 650-628-1001. Our phone support hours are 10am to 10pm EST, 7 days a week."

    In case you should want to ring them, the USA dialling code from here is 001, so you'd need to dial 001-650-628-1001 to direct dial.

    In your shoes, and purely because their new account pages suck so badly, I'd be sorely tempted to email them with my phone number and request they phone you.

    Get a temp CC and change your billing info to that card. Use that old main card to buy game codes. With no attachement to UO account for the main card. 6 month code start date should be the current end date subscription.


    They just need a 3 year game code. WE agree to not be refunded if the UO lights go out. Or owe a cost increase if the higher gas prices really effect the creation and movement of pixels.
