PC on vine cord sandals

Discussion in 'UO Rares Collector' started by imported_Plum Cake, Nov 28, 2007.

  1. My question is: how much could be worth now after all change on Doom , bos and uo gold in general?

what do vine cords have to do with doom?

Pretty sure the doom changes wont affect the price at all.

The price of vine cords will have little to do with doom or any changes that occur there. Yes the price of artifacts could potentially drop significantly, but b/c it would foment increased player activity especially in the areas of pvp the price of gold would be unlikely to change, since there would not be a true increase or decrease in the amount currently in the game, the spending habits and focuses of players would simply shift from artifacts to craftable items or uber loot.

  4. that's the point DVI

Farming gold is not more easy available with the new BOS rules
Artifacts go down in price for sure

and the gold we have in bank, what for that? 1M will still be = 2$ ? or an increase ratio will be?

.... so finally how much need i to pay for a damn vine cord sandal?

  5. I was offered a pair for 500 million, but passed on it. I think it's an outrageous sum for such an item.

Now this might not be the most accurate PC, but it's an indication.

The item is pretty popular, seeing as they supposedly are the best sandies out there.

Farming gold has not been a significant source of income in some time, the best current method for obtaining gold comes from selling items, be they resources, runic kits, artifacts, event rares, weapons, armor or anything else you can think of worth significant value. Selling an item does not increase the amount of gold in the community, it simply passes it to someone else, but most players do not hoard their gold they use it to purchase new items either for themselves or to sell for profit.

As to artifacts, if you did not read the herald last evening, or yet today they changed the doom system again to reduce the drop rate. I'm sure it will be faster then it was prior to yesterdays patch, but definitley slower than it was throughout yesterday. This means depending on the variance in the drop rate we will most likely see a reduction in doom artifact prices, but doubtful to be a significant one, possibly a few mil off the higher end items, and a few hundred k off the lower end items, maybe less.

As far as to whether the cost of gold will change in a positive or negative manner, I do not believe it will, I believe that any fluctuation we see will be minimal, and completely within the current price ranges. But if the cost of gold does rise, you can expect that the prices of items in gold will fall, not greatly but to some extent. The problem is you're asking about event rares, these items are often exempt from the rate of gold bc they exist in limited numbers and therefore the prices for them often hold steady, with the major variances being an individuals need or desire to sell quickly, and the desirability of the item over an extended time(as more people learn about vine cords, more people want them)

I believe what he's refering to is the fact that Gold being harder to obtain effects everyone including item sellers.
If there is less gold being earned.. that means there is less gold to be spent.
This will reduce the demand of items such as barbed kits (at current price 2.8mill)... and what would that do? This would reduce the price as supplies find that they are unable to sell their barbed kits at a optimum rate... so they will reduce the price.

I believe this would eventually lead to increase in value of gold as less gold is required to buy items... thus rares like vine cord sandel's gold value may be cut in half yet it's R/L cash value will maintain the same.

I'm well aware of what he was asking, and I replied to it.

Gold is not significantly more difficult to obtain with the changes to bos, so you have to take 12 seconds and recall/gate to the bank to drop it off, omg you lost out on 200gp. The bos changes are not game changing or dramatic, theyre miniscule and will not effect many people in a dramatic or catastrophic manner. The only major change that would have effected the price or value of gold would have been if they had not reduced the drop rate for doom artifacts today, bc the price would have fallen significantly, which would have made the gold value fall drastically.

Bots can't recall out of shimmering dungeon and walk back most of the time so although I don't know much about the BOS changes it sounds as if the change was specifically made to target them in the way that they can't park their asses at arcane demons afk in a darkwood suit in vamp form getting 13mil per day per char per shard per facet with nothing more than a blackthorn kryss and a 4mil suit of armor and a ton of translocation powder put on a recharge loop.

Though I'm sure they'll simply just carry more powder now but it'll at least put a dent in the mass influx of created gold which was the same as duping when compared to the ease and quantity it's introduced at into the market.

This has nothing to do with vine cords.. If gold becomes less available then there might be a long term affect on prices of things but that is highly speculative at this point. Anyways, this would affect all prices not just one item.

I personally find it in poor taste to make this thread and target vine cords specifically when someone is trying to sell a pair. It might not have been intentional but could be considered trolling. I will leave it open (for now) but rest assured I will be watching it.

  16. to explain better: a man offered me his vine sandals for 700M, for me is very high so i was looking for a PC

tnx to all af you that helped me to open my mind.
