peerless treasure chests

  1. how about making level 6 t-maps capable of giving named monster or peerless loot? I don't mean any special items like grizzled mare or mark of travesty or whatever, but things like taint, blight, or armor set pieces?

    I totally agree. We need another source other than Peerless for Peerless ingredients, for example.........

    Just wait until SA comes out and see how hard it is going to be to get a group of people together to do a peerless. Not everyone has or wants a char that can solo a peerless boss all day.

    I think it's a bit unlikely they'll start making treasure maps give out ML-expansion-based loot. Not sure why people would want peerless regs to start dropping that way either, they're already in over-supply.

    (Let's face it, you don't exactly need a veteran group to farm Meli all day long. It's far easier/faster to do that then it is to get a lvl6 map then organise a group to go dig the chest up.)

    That said, if they were to have Tokuno maps start dropping, those could give Tokuno minors. I reckon if they were to do that for the next Treasures of Tokuno event it'd be pretty cool.

    But I doubt they will, as they've only ever bothered to "map out" the original Britainnia area of the game world (speaking Cartography-skill-wise). The three other facets can't even be mapped yet.

    Excellent idea.

    I had the misfortune to spawn four ancient wyrms :)eek:) as the primary chest guardians on a level 6 the other day, took me quite a while to be done with them. For my trouble, I got a Luna Lance. :wall: A few vials of snot or something would have made it a little more worthwhile (there's something you don't hear every day).

    Maybe the maps collected from killing ML monsters could yield the peerless ingredients.

    For that matter, anyone who thinks Taint is in over-supply apparently hasn't actually crafted anything recently.

    Nearly everything WORTH crafting, from the rare recipes, requires taint - yet typically sell for less than a quarter of the price one has to PAY for Taint, if one doesn't collect it personally. And, Out of the last 20 peerless I've done, I've gotten NINE Taint (and the items in question all take 10 taint to make)

    Sounds a good idea. Treasure hunts need to be relooked since several years.

    Treasure chests used to be challenging and the rewards were accordingly looked for. Now the spawn, even for a level 6, can easily be soloed and the rewards are no longer perceived as good.

    (Un)fortunately this shows the weakness of an item game without item decay : the devs must constantly improve the loot or entire parts of the game are no longer worth it.

    This is why I think new systems like Faction items and imbuing are the way to go.
