If I try shift-drag a stack of coins, or press ctrl+shift to get namebars up, I freeze for a second and become very laggy (just mouse lag, not server lag)

Im running vista on a brand new laptop, and I run crysis on almost max settings with no freeze or hangups.

Any idea what could be the cause of this? Quick looting stacks anf getting namebars are impossible with the lag I get from pressing shift or ctrl+shift.

Oh, and it happens If im alone with a mob and try get his bar aswell, with nothing else on screen lighting up.

Your issue came on the heels of another non connection related lag issue - I am going to guess graphics adapter first.

Can you try reducing your desktop colour depth and resolution (the pc desktop, not uo) and see if it helps?

Any idea what gpu and how much vid ram your laptop has?

Also monitor if there is a lot of hdd activity whenever you experience lag.

    Thanks!
All I had to do was turn of aero, and set the theme to vista basic. Didnt have to touch resolution.

If anyone else gets this but prefer to run aero aswell, you can click the uo launcher, choose compability settings and just disable the desktop stuff in there.
