1. Just for the Record I have asked all KoC not to bring these new super uber dragons on the field untill we see that the field is completly overwelmed with them, So its on the record, Lets see which guild overwelmengly throws them out there first????

Place your Bets Siege!

10 to 1 Cupcakes 4 U

2. Well since I helped tame about 5 of them today......ummm im gonna go with
various guilds from my alliance [IMG]

But to be fair most people weren't pvpers, I dunno, if you have tamed one you know what I know and well....

Good luck to us all....

3. Everyone knows what im talking about, who cares about farming and such, they sound great for that, im wandering which guild will be first to bring em into a PvP fight in field?

I'll get a nice one on my tamer for sure, but he's only for camping. Now if Bo would quit pking him I'd quit learning how to pvp with him. *winks*

9. Well since JSV has like 2 people at night time when I play, I will be using one as soon as King Edward tames, and trains me one.

I hate getting ganked at night over, and over, and over again. Lately it is just Verum, Stryder, and myself, while KOC, and TNA hammer my poopchute.

I looked em up and if I am correct a trained uber draggy will be 160 barding difficulty. So 120 music and peace with a dragon slayer instrument gives you a 10% chance.

Don't want pets in PvP? Ask the devs to half there barding difficulty. I hope this could be a simple coding fix.

Tamers put at least 300 skill points towards taming, stealth tamers about 500 add ninja and almost all your points depend on your pets for attacking.

So to get PvP tamers off the field would require an an investment of a minimum of 360 barding skills. But one bard can clear out 5-10 tamers depending one there template and backup.

Simple PvP fix? I hope so.

they should just change the graphic from a dragon to a giant writhing phallace (BBC!!) and give it its own porn site. Only way you are peacing this thing is with some cheesy bass guitar and a lot of screaming. bow chika wow wow umph umph yeeeeaaaaaa

14. these had nothing to do with a pvp fix this was so we could kill champs again

15. Making the Barding difficuly lower may be a start, but one person(not all tamers are created equal, some are much better at it then others, and some pets are better then others) again, One Person no matter if its 300+skill or with hide stealth ninja 500+ is commanding One or more monsters that can do things that a Player cannot do.
Such as cast on you well off screen, and cast faster then a player is allowed to do, granted the casting may be random, but a Double Flamestrike or whatever else is in the AI combo 1-2 pets unleashed isnt possible by any Player.

We all have tactics to combat Tamers in PvP, but to try and equate using 300+ skill and making the Tamer an easier target to kill isnt a fair comparison.
Everyone has seen Dragons and Beetles flying across the screen and had them cast on you off screen.(some pets seem to get stuck and never chase any faster then slow motion that goes back to all Tamers and their tactics arnt created equal)

All I can say is I think we are going to see alot more Tamers fighting Tamers to try and balance what EA wont Balance, and with more Pets on the Field , more Non- Tamers are gonna get killed by pets and come here to complain about it or just quit UO because of the Increased Pets, Cheaters trying to survive Pets and ganks and Dismount Ganks with Pets.

Pick up Tame/Lore/Vet, Hide/Stealth/Ninja, Music/Peace, Chivalry or any combo you see fit to Survive.........

I will field the best pet(s) I can, just like a good warrior fields the best weapon he can. So, if this pet beats currently available pets and pet combos, so be it.

19. On the subject of controlling these new Dragons:
Are tamers losing control?
I ran into a new Dragon near Wind this evening and tried my best to kill it.
After 30 minutes I ran out of regs and gave up.
So, who lost it? Or, did a tamer just released it?
Is tamer control going to be a problem here?

I think it is too early to say. I stabled one with 821 HP, high Magery and Wrestling and want to see what it does with trained up Eval and Meditation before I dismiss it as a PVP option. It seems to me if it can cast rapidly, the magic damage should be pretty impressive and its wrestle hit might be pretty bad as well. I am also curious if it has a wrestling special like the Hiyrus do.

LadyNico, who posted those pics, invited any and all pvpers to test out the dragons she'd tamed on test, no one took her up on it.

Friends of hers who did conduct some tests found they were no real problem because they're as slow as heck.

I solo tamed 2 yesterday on Europa, I didn't do it in 15 minutes like some people have bragged they have, but I don't think they did it alone either. Took me around an hour.

I didn't beat them down and lead tame, since I don't have the skills on my tamer, she's only a peace tamer, strictly pvm.

I tamed them with peace, it took rather a lot of tries I admit, but if they're peaceable wild, when they have their full stats and skills, they're going to be peaceable tamed when their str and hp have been halved and their skill points reduced.

While taming them I occasionally got the message 'you are bleeding profusely'

What did everyone do with dragons before AoS? Because that's what these guys are, the equivelant of the dragon of old.

I remember when soloing a dragon on a dexer was a feat to be proud of, an adreneline rush of jousting with tr pots and shaking fingers. That's what this is, a re-dress of the balance, putting dragons back where they used to be.

Siegers couldn't handle pre AoS dragons?

It's not the dragons that are the problem, it's the ability to summon them, unannounced, to wherever you happen to be. We need limits putting on pet balls. Not hitting everyone by removing them, but sensible, realistic limits.

Things like:
A visible way for someone to tell a pet has been summoned. I lean towards the idea of an emote above the head similar to that when using a bola.
A delay before the summons is responded to - say 10 seconds?
Conditions to be met: Cannot summon while flagged?
Delay on re-use, or use of a 2nd ball. Maybe 5 minutes?

Don't antagonise everyone who uses pet balls for other, more peaceful, purposes. (I use them to get my loaded beetle safely to my vendor with stock) Ask for something the developers can realistically grant without getting flamed by everyone who uses them in pvm or crafting.

Creature's of higher intelligence have a higher chance of revealing. Also, the closer you are to it when you hide or invis, the higher chance it has of revealing you.

I may have said this before in a post long ago, but i'll say it again anyways. The reason a pet can cast on you from one or two or three screens away (or whatever most of you claim is happening) is simple. The pet has targeted you while you are on screen, right, then most of you with your so called "super-uber" computers and connection speed, run off screen at incredible speeds causing you to be x-screens away. Well the pet has no ability to fast cast but it has still targeted you and cast it's spells. So as you run at your so-called high velocity, it may appear that the pet is still casting when in fact it has only casted on you while you were on screen. Try having a mage buddy (with zero fc) cast explosion on you, and you run off screen from him and see how far you can get before the explosion hits. As far as a bet goes, i'm betting that every guild that has a tamer will have at least one of these new dragons in the field.

Careful you are tredding on dangerous ground here.

First you are trying to put together rational facts, with out throwing direct accusations. That is not the norm here. Its almost like your both thinking clearly and follwing the ROC.

If your not careful you will both recieve hostility from the rest of the forum population, as well as alarm a moderator.

You may think about just throwing out random speculation instead that is what peeps really want to read.

They will all say they did it cause they had to.
They will all cry.
They will blame each other.
They will blame EA.
They will do exactly what they always do.

Thats the dumbest explanation I have ever heard, explosion has a built in delay. Have that same mage buddy stand more than 10 tiles away and try to cast flamestrike on you as you run off screen, its not gonna happen. Now have a tamer buddy bring his beetle or dragon and say all kill from 10 tiles away. Not only will they instantly jump to your spot but they will cast two flamestrikes back to back within a second of each other while you are well off screen.

supposedly they do a lot of teleporting right on top of targets and also have a bleed attack; im guessing by June shard population will be 0 or *everyone* will be in stealth and the pop might as well be zero at that point since everyone will just be hidden waiting for the other person to come out of hiding first.

I still remember the absurdity when the tamers first started running around with 2 and 4 dragons (sir bart) and the best you could hope for was that it was in town and that the dragon would cast an aoe spell to get guardwhacked.

Haha and i called you out on it several times in that other thread, yet you avoided it and instead chose to attack our ability to board pvp, rather than discuss your statement. lol

The problem with posting on UoHall is that 99.9% of them are Prodo shard players who :
a. dont have to deal with pvp
b. those that do, dont have alot of tamers that pvp
c. dont have to worry about losing their uber equipment
(sounds suspicously like everyones favorite super uber pvper Dork Doom)

You are trying to convince apples to be oranges, not going to happen. These Drags are for people trammies to camp swoops/peerless/doom etc, etc, etc.... with no thought to pvp let alone Siege

To clarify HALF (or even more) the barding difficulty when a pet is tamed and you have your PvP fix regarding tamers.

41. See your kinda talk there is exactly what KoC is avoiding, as I SAID IN MY POST WE WILL NOT FIELD THESE UNTILL THERE USED AGAINST US< were trying to be proactice towards pvp, so you cant say we started this crap like you always do with everything, sounds like your guild is already making excuses why they need to use them already, two totally different mindsets thats all,

Of course people are gonna *****, EA doesnt care about PvP

They have the same Mindset as JsV, thats why you all relate so well.

So you guys are not going to use them for PvP?

Thats cool, so if I am walking around with one for PvM, are you going to walk by if there are 4 of you or are you going to gank me?

When do you feel its ok to use them? Does someone have to wait till attacked to be considered a noble pker like your guild built of noble deeds.

Because it would truley be a travesty if you went into a fight that is not fair or close right. That is why your whole guild always take the high road I am sure.
Fair fights are what your about, hell you guys would never 4 man gank, a weak player that is all alone.

try things out and try to understand them before you try to explain them. it has nothing to do with faster casting, that has to do how long it takes to get the target cursor up, not how long from targetting someone to hitting someone. thats the reason you will never be able to cast flamestrike or lightning on a player that is 2 screens away from you. it also has nothing to do with how good your computer is, once you target you are either in range/line of sight or you arent. and pets definitely dont cast like players, they chain spells on them with a delay for each spell and even if you run out of range or block line of sight, you can still get hit by said spells 5-10 seconds after that while the pet is not following you or doesnt even have you as a target anymore due to all killing something else or you invising.

that much for explaining and testing things.

Well, Sav's pictures on page one show the barding difficulty after the superdragons are tamed, and they are in the 126-135 range. That's essentially unbardable. A 120/120 music/peacer will be able to peace one less than half the time.
