Logging out then back in not fix it?
Not a viable solution if you are in the middle of a battle.
X-shard or X-facet?
once again ask the players to fix a broken game we shouldnt have to log in or out, the game shoudl work as intended
If you are looking for a bug free program... give up... there is no such thing and I doubt there ever will be...
I dont see an issue addressing this. Ive maybe only seen a handful of this specific threads adressing this issue, I dont believe this has ever been explained by the Dev team in any response.
As the problem was explained to me, what happens is that when you xfer a char or maybe even play multiple shards, houses from the other shard gets stuck in the house cache. The solution is to go into the option menu via the paperdoll and find the house cache slider and move it to 0 or 1 and then log out. Not sure how much of a differnce having your computer cache 500 houses or having it cache 1. I guess at one time when computer and Internet speeds were much slower it was very useful.
Yes it's the house cache. Houses bleed through from other facets and/or shards if you've been in the same area without a client restart. Yes UO will never be bug free, but is it so much to ask that they take the time to at least fix SOME of things that have been around for half a decade or more? They keep adding new stuff that comes with a ton of new bugs and causes old content to break instead. When people get fed up with something so broken they throw it away or in UOs case quit.
Either you have a lag while a house loads or you have the bleed through when you change shards.
It's not so much that the house APPEARS to be there is that I get STUCK in some sort of time warp when I hit one. I am running into walls that aren't there and literally got stuck in a corner last night. I logged out and back in and there wasn't even a house there.
To answer a previous posters question, yes it happens in different facets too. I have run into random houses in Ilshenar and The Abyss, but specifically in this post I am talking about when I change shards to help a friend.
come on taz. i play several mmos, some are pretty crappy. none have the bug value of uo. i dont even play other shards for days and i will get big black squares that i can get stuck in while playing.
i am fed up with people making excusing for the devs. players shouldnt be responsible to fix bugs or work around them. bugs should not persist for months at a time much less years.
