    I like.

dont you find that after you disco the critter and put your pet on it by the time the barding wait timer is done that there is nothing to provo onto cause the critters dead?

unless of course your in doom.

I use provo for crowd control and defense, not as an offensive skill for the most part. Unless I find a flock of para Cu's for example, then it's disco, provo, all kill.

i use to use my pure bard for crowd control when i use to solo level 6 chests.

id pull everything out of the chests and when a critter spawned id run it a screen off and invis and come back and keep doing that till the chest was empty.

then id go get my bard and that little sucker would wonder in and clean up all of them.

    allways impressed me.
nothing more satisfying then seeing like 4 AW's and a bunch of other critters dancing around and some bard on foot wearing tattered rags sitting on a log banging away on the drums without a care in the world.

By decoding then stoning cart, and running LP instead of peace, I seem to do quite well on lvl 6 chests, although recent (i.e. 3 years) AW changes have made it much more challenging.
I go with Vertigo, not all mobs I find can be taken down so quickly. I do Dread horn and Mel quite a bit, and Mel hates having her lil minions attack her.
Makes it lot easier to solo or Duo, and for key gathering at weald it makes life a lot simpler when folks seem to want to spawn lil spiders out of the water. Pet on larger mobs, provo lesser on other larger mobs, clean up with pet. Repeat. Peace to get a quick invis in in bad times.

    120 evaluating
    100 med
    20 hide

stats are something like 100/20/135 unmodified and elven.

I wear sorcerer's armour for 12mr 100lrc 30lmc 65dci all 70's, I wear novo/etoile set for max fast cast, 400 luck and 2 more mr, void totem for 40lmc total and sword of prosperity for -0 mage weapon and extra 200 luck.

As long I am quick on my feet (mouse?) and the invis self macro, I can survive mobs of almost anything.

I mainly use him for spawns as my disco tamer (1700 luck) farms better loot, and my sampire and abc can do more damage to peerless and doom.

I get a nice large group of big un's fighting together and drop eq's till the mana runs dry.

Grimm is definately my most enjoyable character to play.

    Quick ? for you.
Is the whole word of death thing timing, skill based or..?
I got SW up to gm and WoD never seemed to do much for me. Any suggestions?

word of death only hits when the mod is super uber low on HP.

that is the only timing thing with it.
you can only use it at the end.

but when you DO use it at the end it take massive chunks off of the critters.
for peerless and dark fathers if you are SDI maxed and such you can hit them for like 400-500 per WOD.

and if that gets ya interested, go into wraith form and you get back all the mana you used to cast the WOD.

so you can sit there and chain drop WODS at the end of a peerless and you never use any mana.
you can, if your good, get like 4-5 WODS off in a row before they die.
    thats a lot of HP.

    and easy to do to.
you only need like 40 points in necro and ss and then buff up with bloodwood tali and the grim necro book and a ring watch if you can find one to fit in your suit.

i just happen to have a lot of info on that cause i invested some time last winter in it with my peerless tamer.

Poo is once again totally correct, you can also use just mods to get enough necro to go into wraith and cast essence of wind like "real" Necros cast wither. Great at spawns :p and you don't have to sacrifice any real skill points

one day ill post about my "champ/peerless" tamer experiment i did this last winter.

i ended up with a real nice template.
made it on sonoma and atl both.

was nice to sit there with a greater dragon and heal it with spells (or aids if the mod didnt have an area attack) then slip into the wraith form and chain the WODs at the end.

i highlly recomend it to anyone who is thinking of getting into champs or peerlesses.

i usually take in 2 tamers.
my disco tamer and then that spellweaving tamer (with necro)
and between them i can clean up pretty good.
coupled with a couple guild mates who do the same..... ooooh weee!

nothing says top of your game like killing a lady mel BEFORE the keys expire in your pack, hehehe.

    Wow, interesting templates.

    Mine will be:

    120 Musicianship
    120 Provocation
    110 (real: 105) Animal Taming
    110 (real: 105) Animal Lore
    100 Veterinary
    100 Magery
    65 Meditation

After I get used to using a GD, I'm going to try:

    120 music
    120 provo
    120 disco
    105 taming
    105 lore
    100 vet
    50 chiv

Then maybe I'll try a SW tamer now that there is an arcane circle @ West Brit Bank!

I always found 50 chiv was lil low and failed me for recall when i needed it the most. I think a chiv bard tamer would be kool, but for me I'd bump something up a lil bit.

I acquired a bracelet from dismount tamer while pvping and it got me thinking.
    Bracelet has:
    taming 12
    Provo 14
    Hit chance 12
    dex bonus 5
    damage incr 14

I hunted luna some and found a complimentary ring:
    music 15
    discord 12
    strength bonus 4
    hit chance 10
    damage increase 21

Nice dexxer jewels with 41 bard points.
    So my idea is this:
    archery 100
    tactics 80
    heal 90
    anatomy 85
    chiv 65
    music 105
    provo 106
    disco 108

Using the ol mark of the travesty with 10 archery and 10 tactics, and conjurer's trinket, and crossbows/comp bows.
    Any thoughts?

    Some interesting templates here.

I've recently created my first bard and he's very much work in progress.

    120 Music
    120 Provo
100 Magery (115 with Tome of Lost Knowledge)
    100 Eval Int
    100 Med
80 Necro (105 with Midnight Bracers and Bloodwood Totem)
100 Spirit Speak (110 with Bloodwood Totem)

    Total - 720 (770 with items)

If I'm totally honest I'm not quite sure how efficient the template will be. My intention is for him to be used for non-Fel Champs and Peerless PvM. Provo will be used primarily for self-defence. He'll run with a shadow wisp and in wraith-form for additional mana (regen / leech) in order to compensate for GM-med.

I may soulstone some skills around based on future performance and perhaps swap provo for disco.

  20. So my question is... what's your offense if there is nothing to Provo on each other? I am showing my ignorance here but I take it SW is the new magery in some occasions? I quit shortly after ML came out and never tried SW.

    Thanks in advance.

My tamer/bard is still in training, vet and disco right now are both 0 lol. but here is my template and i got the items ready as well.

    Tamer/Bard

    Taming - 100
    Lore - 105
    Magery - 100
    Vet - 94
    Music - 97
    Peace - 98
    Disco - 106

    Total 700

    bracer - 15 taming, 13 music, discord 11
    ring - peace 12, vet 6, lore 10
bird of britannia (only item that i am still looking) - tame/lore 5/5
    Mark of Travesty (peace)

    So with item I have

    Tamer/Bard

    Taming - 120
    Lore - 120
    Magery - 100
    Vet - 100
    Music - 120
    Peace - 120
Disco - 117 - second year real skill push it to 120

    Total 797

lrc 100%, luck 843, medable, 6 mana regen.

  22. Mmmm....this is the only defect of this template.
But I can summon Nature's fury (very strong if the monster is under disco effect), and as soon as the monster get a little damage I cast a word of death (avg 200hp damage)....and then others Nature's fury.

undoubtedly this situation is not very good for my bard, but I don't despair :D

WOD dosnt work till the mob is down near the bottom of its HPs.

so casting it after it takes "a little damage" wont do you any good.

  24. Yes, but when the mob is down near the bottom, nature's fury will be the rest.....pixie and imp too.

But I repeat: actually this is not a good situation for my bard, but if the mob isn't a paragon or a very strong creature, I kill it.
The "isolated" mob in ilshenar are not a lot.
