Power Scrolls for non combat skills

Why not add power scrolls for the other skills that only reach GM at the moment, mining, inscription etc? A 110 or 120 scroll sold by an NPC for 5 or 10 mils or so could be quite a gold sink.
    Just a thought.

I am not thinking to deep into this but it doesn't seem to be a bad idea. Lumberjacking and mining and alchemy. It'll just increase chances at rare resources and better stats on books.

Don't give them any ideas. Most crafter templates are pretty crowded as is, unless all you have is an account dedicated just to crafting and resource gathering. Next thing you know, you will have to be GM lumberjacking to get Yew, 110 for Heartwood, 115 for Bloodwood, and 120 for Frostwood, and the samething happening to mining. I keep hearing the old timers talk about GM magery before powerscrolls meaning something, and now if you have GM magery there is a pretty good chance that you are fizzling alot with rezzes and EV's.

to Kellgory: Imbuing is already sheduled to destroy your templates anyway. I think that devs are trying to get as to specialise and socialize.

But I don't want to socialize, darn it, and specializing generally sucks. Why can't I just be the grumpy old hermit crafter that lives in a cave somewhere. When they made the changes to Arms Lore, I know I and many others managed to squeeze that skill in the template. Now if they were to turn around and add power scrolls to tinkering, lumberjacking, inscription, mining, carpentery, and in the process redo the requirements of each one then add in imbuing, then pretty much your looking at adding another char just for crafting. Right now if imbuing was the only thing added, I could probably do some minor tweaks to the templates and get by.

I had always hoped they would expand the BOD system to the other crafting skills and add power scrolls as a reward. Still would need to add other means to get scrolls (such as your suggestion) for non-crafting skills.

NO, powerscrolls are fine just the way they are. The skills included were a perfect design, the method in which they were distributed were a perfect design, the way they are gained/bought/sold are a perfect design. Now enough of this talk before I have to call a Mod in to lock it for no good reason.

    ...

One of the main problems as stated by the devs on adding in the power scrolls not yet implemented is that there currently is no "content above 100.0 skill" for those skills, so you MIGHT be able to get a few points over 100.0, but you'd then hit a wall where you'd be unable to advance.

Power Scrolls were a mistake, no need to do further damage. What next? 150 skill cap? 200?

Rather than raise the skill max (which will only occupy people while they grind up a further 20 skill), why not add more content within the existing framework (0-100 skill)? Enrich what we have rather than spreading it thin.

Then where is the point of playing multiplayer game?

Well I know that forced socializing is wrong, but (role)playing hermit?! :coco:

Power/stat scrolls were one of the worst additions to the game. If anything they should delete power/stat scrolls, revert everyone thats 100+ to gm except maby tailoring, blacksmithy, delete +skill items, delete dungeon champ spawns, and offer something nice on the other spawns fel t2a,ish,tok like every spawn can have its set list of artifacts/items, power of the artifacts/items would depend on the difficulty of the spawn plus risk where say the rat spawn in fel would have nicer artifacts then the one in ish artifacts could not be repaired. The tok champ could drop tok minor arties that could be turned in for tok majors.

    Nuff said. :scholar:

There's not enough skillpoints to justify even more Powerscrolls. It wouldnt mean any other change than ****ing up peoples templates.

Because there's no point to it. All powerscrolls ever did was require you to need 120 points to do what you used to be able to do with 100. Adding this to these other skills will not enable you to do anything else, it will simply make your template more cramped; where's the sense in that?

Going back, ML, SE, BOD books, Bulleten boards are mostly high end craft items with higher failure chances than anything around at AoS with the possible exception of chaos/order shields and dragon scale armor

If you go through some of the craft menus you'll notice a 120 Tailor has very little to fail on making. A 120 Blacksmith has only 1 item with less than 70% chance to make and maybe 6 or so less than 80%. A 100 Tinker has a whole bunch at 50%. A 100 Carpenter quite a few things with less than 80% and several less than 70%. A 100 Scribe has BOD books at 70% and spell books at 50%, then there's 7th and 8th circle spells. So the content is already there to go to 120 with some of the the other skills. It'd be your choice if you went to 120 or not.

Mining would get a better smelt success chance with the high end ores. Doesn't mean they'd have to change the skill needed to dig it up though.

    Anyway was just a thought.

You are so wrong. Before powerscrolls everyone was 7xGM, fighters differing just with weapons skill, mages all the same (well nearly). Now you have so many choices in skills, and you can use equipment to get more points and more choices. Powerscrolls simply put make our game rich.

Dont get offended it was 98% sarcasm with smiley's even:).

I have made 120 smiths to go with my 2, 120 tailors and my 3 gm miners and 2 gm carpenters.

I want both new content, and new power scrolls. I want even more choices available to me.

Crazy me! I even want new bods to pull my hair in frustration over.

The only way I would be for powerscrolls for non combat skills would be if there was a purpose for going higher. Maybe if there were runic kits for tinkering, then have power scrolls for tinkering, fletching, and carpentry. Maybe even have a BOD system for those skills other than the heartwood quests.

Then when/if SA comes out with imbuing, maybe have lumberjacking and mining powerscrolls where there was a chance of getting a crafting artifact if you were over GM. Lumberjacking would give an artifact that could be used for fletching and carpentry, and mining giving something for blacksmithing and tinkering. Maybe a chance of get a tailoring artifact from either one. The higher your skill level the more powerfull the artifact.

If there were changes like this, then I would be all for new powerscrolls.

    Soulstones buddy.

I've got almost every crafting skill at GM+ and only have 1 crafter char. I mostly keep the skills on him I frequently use (smith, tailoring, alchemy, fletching) but if I need to say make some scrolls, off comes the alchemy and on goes the scribe, etc.

there are runic dovetails and runic fletching kits so to use that as an excuse is flawed.

i like the idea of 120 scrolls in other noncombat skills. not sure on how to implement them, but there are plenty of good ideas. this would give me a good reason to buy soulstones from ea, as i dont really care to make another crafter.
