First make sure you can receive them. Go to 'user cp' (top left) then choose 'edit options' from the left panel and set the following:

You will then get (if pop ups are allowed for this site)

(Thank you Burdensrise for your help in making this)

If you don't have the pop up alert you need to look out for:

the red message flashes on and off. Click on the little white triangle indicated to get the drop down menu.

Click on 'private messages' and answer the poor fool who's trying to contact you. :D

Miss Petra - Even if someone has PM's disabled, they will still get PM's from Mods/Admins. :)

Yeh I have always had the pms acceptable on any forum I post upon often due to some one that just did not like icq or other insta msging. I never really fathomed why some folks just hated their icq or other pms set ups. But now my own icq wont work till I *upgrade* to 6 or whatever it is now, and frankly I do not think I am gonna bother with icq any more, icq is a pain in the arse lately, sooooooooo now I have to make sure my pms on forums are turned on .. I guess. bleh.

    :twak:

Only if both parties agree to it. If it were in the general interests of the board, and in your case I add the proviso that even if both do, not if they've got any of your dodgy links in them!

LOL, I've been at 100% for some time now. 100 PMs total seems a bit low. You guys should let Mith know...la

I think you're supposed to clear out the old ones from time to time :twak:

  11. I'm guilty of not checking pm's as well (looks at Cheapy) I just checked and had 2 friend request thingies in there from heaven knows when. Apologies to these two people, I've added you now.

Hmm... Let's say Rico's PM box is full. I want to PM and tell him what an awesome poster and member of the community he is, would he receive the pm?

Let's say for some odd reason I wanted to send a warning, heaven forbid, and his PM box is still full, would he receive that message?

I guess I need to check that out one day.

LOL, yeah, I can answer that one for ya. Warnings can be received when one's PM box is full. I just can't reply until I empty my box out below the 100 posts.

The problem Petra...I have emptied my PM box, 3 or 4 times now...la
