Problem with UOAssist

    I have gone to the Tugsoft website to download the UOAssist and found that I am having serious troubles with getting it to work. After downloading I run the install and come to see the following error message.

    "The Registry Setting for uopatch.exe is missing or corrupt. Reinstall UO to Corret this problem."

    Nobody that I am friends with knows what to do and I am NOT going to reinstall Ultima Online.

    Any suggestions for solving this issue would be apprecieated.

    I just returned to the game after being away for nearly 3 years... so I understand maybe someone has come across this same issue before (which is what I am counting on). I did look for a previous post but was unable to find one.

    If you have the answer please point me in that direction.

    I would suggest contacting Tugsoft about the problem. Anytime I have ran across a problem like that I had to do what answer I was given.

    "The Registry Setting for uopatch.exe is missing or corrupt. Reinstall UO to Correct this problem."

    Didn't you see how he capitalized the NOT going to reinstall part? He means serious business!

    OK... The forum posting was pretty close. For my case I had a friend give me a screen shot of their registry entries in the Ultima Online 1.0 file. The uopatch.exe entry was missing so I had to create another string value pointing to the 2D uopatch.exe file.

    PatchExePath REG_SZ C:\Program Files\EA Games\Ultima Online 2D Client\uopatch.exe


    This resolved the issue and it was done WITHOUT re-installing the game.

    I hope this helps someone else.
