Well, in regards to the annonced Britannia Ship which will be available by either monetary purchase or through Library Collection, I have one concern.

It has not been mentioned how much real money it will cost.

Regardless, we are talking about spending people's real money to buy a game item.

This said, I would like to know whether, since it will cost real money, this Britannia Ship will be a non-decay item (regular ships decay...).

I mean, personally I would find it unfortunate and not good for UO to have players get upset because they spent real money on the new ship only to see it go "poof" because of decay, whatever the reasons.

Perhaps the purchaseable version of the Britannia Ship can be made non-decayable while the one obtainable through Library Collections will remain decayable ?
This could also work as an incentive to players to purchase it thus ensuring more revenues to UO.

    Just a thought.

As in regards to the announced 13th Year Veteran Reward, I have to say that I am rather disappointed to hear that accounts that remained active for 13 long years will receive yet another rideable....
It may look as cool as one wants, but it still is just another rideable...

Unless it is a special mount that has some unique specialities (which I doubt, though having a mount that could rez the owner in case of death would be a cool addition, for example...or a special mount that counts for 0 slots followers could come handy....or perhaps a Pegasus Winged Horse that can fly over terrain obstacles), personally I find it disappointing that accounts that old are given as a veteran Reward just another pretty much ordinary mount.

So, if it is just another pretty much ordinary mount, regardless its looks, this will meet my disappointment.

If instead this rideable will also bring some unique specialties like for example be capable of ressing the owner or count as 0 followers slots or some other usefull unique ability like a Pegasus Winged Horse that can fly over terrain obstacles, then I will see it as a valuable and worthy addition to appraise and value customers who have been loyal to Ultima Online for 13, long years.

NOTE. Just read Pub 69 notes and saw that the 13th Year Veteran Reward is referred to as a "new rideable Armored Boura.".

Does "armored" mean that it provides defense to the owner ?
If so, what defense bonus does it add ?

Of course, it should be considerably better that what an armored swamp dragon adds because if it was the same or little above, who'd waste a 13th Year Vet pick to get moreless the same defense bonus that a swampie can give ?

Is it also a 0 followers' slot mount ?
This could make it a bit more valuable and considerable as a worthy 13th Year veteran pick......

Is there ever anything you are not disappointed about?

And you would seriously unbalance the game by adding a 0-slot mount?

The purchasable boat should just revert into deed form and placed in the bank/backpack if not refreshed in a week.
As for the items on the ship?
    Let them decay ....
As for the mount - you might get it because you want to look leet :p

  4. Woah....hold the phone justa dadburn second........flying gives a ZERO slot "mount", no?......as in a flying garg tamer?....a flying garg myst with a RC in tow?

    And seriously......"unbalance"?
    Kidding right?
Is there now or has there ever been in my 13 plus years of uo....."balance"?
They nerf it this way, then back that way, round and round it goes, year after year, depending on who's the "dev" and who they listen to whine the most.

Finally.....it DOES say the 13th year vet pick IS an ARMORED boura....which exactly means what to you?

PS...didnt hear about the ship, sounds interesting tho....would be way cool to be customizable so as to make it unique to each player somewhat.

I'm kinda concerned about that ship too. How are they going to do this, if it can be bought via uogamecodes? I buy a code and they cannot know which shard I intend to use it on. If they sell the codes and then give an error message to players like :"Too many boats of this type already on this shard. You may not redeem your code at this time" Well, then they better be prepared for some really nasty emails.
And if they only sell a limited amount of codes, well, then it might be that some shard won't be having any whales at all because their player were sleeping when the devs in the US release the codes and they're sold out within hours. Also in this case, the amount of ship will decrease over due to lost ships and leaving players. So they would have to release new batches of code - again with no means to distribute them equally over the shards.

    difficult!

Is the Brittanian ship the 'whale' or is that a seperate one?

Hmmmm.... The only thing I worry about is being able to purchase it LoL. Will you make sure that your company will take my $$? And I am being serious about it.

Not kidding. There's no fun in meeting a mounted PvPer with his Greater Dragon.

  10. HOLY MOLY.

How about letting people spend as the wish?

You want it you buy it.
You buy it you use it.
You dont want it you dont buy it.

You want to trade in game gold and items for it you do.

You could care less you move on.

I am not questioning the fact that it will be purchaseable for real money, I am fine with that and actually see it as a good thing for UO because it means increased revenues and so better support and content.

I am just saying that "since" it will be purchaseable for real money, I do not see fit or proper that this purchaseable item will be able to decay just like regular other ships purchased for in game gold.

I think that it should not be let to decay, period, if players will spend real money to buy it.

How about have the new boat act like a house... As long as the account it is on remains active then the boat does not need to be refreshed. But if the account goes inactive then after the 90 days the boat turns into a deed and all items on the boat are lost.

Yes, but gargoyles inherently suck like every other race they bring out...humans on the other hand, do not.
