W like to help out new people in fel. We are a blue pvp guild, but we also do other things then pvping.

www.wraiths.eu for more info, say hi on boards. [IMG]

  7. Thank you... but after watching the pvp i found out something...

Unless I speedhack... it is quite pointless.

This ends my days in uo... from training to the gauntlet to pvp...

Three weeks of fun and exploring... but also under a great shadow.

No matter how I played only a few things were fun and fair... most of the game is ran by scripters and that makes it impossible to compete for the average 2hour per night player...

Kudos to the veterans that never cheated and kept their guilds clean... even if that means huge beatings in Felluca.

    Safe Gaming to everyone.

Scripters are pretty rampant, but theres not so much other cheating in PVP on europa.

[/ QUOTE ] I have to disagree. Whilst not being of the driven snow variety I don't speedhack and I do rather well at PvP.

Are you sure its not just that you have a poor network connection?

Anyway, if you feel you have done everything there is in UO in three weeks and are now bored/jaded then a deep and immersive game like UO is not for you. Perhaps a Wii might be a better option?

I must say it's very few that use speeder in pvp or a scribt and the ppl I noticed using them are ****te anyways...

not using cheats or scribts in pvp is in no way a limiting factor.
the guild I'm in NDK doesn't use cheats what so ever and we can hold our ground versus any guild really when same numbers and most guilds when outnumbered more than 2 to 1 also... just a matter of team effort

Wouldn't surprise me if a lot of the people you think are speedhacking aren't actually using any hacks/scripts at all.

When I played and pvp'd people accused me of scripting all the time purely because I had very good spell timing together with a quick connection. A few people just couldn't understand how I could heal so fast (me being a mage). Was fun when I trained chivalry for even better heals [IMG].

A few things I'd like to respond to....

    1) You got from new-to-the-game to competitive PvP in 3 weeks as a 2-hour a night player??

    Want to tell me how?

I've been around a while; I know most of the legal quick-training methods, and I know how to maximise my profits when hunting. (I also know how to quicken my training and gold farming using illegal methods.)

Even using an Advanced Character, you will not build a character / equip that character / learn to PvP with that template in 48hours of gameplay.
Perhaps the people you accuse of cheating were simply better trained / better equipped / more experienced than you.

    2) Why worry about the cheaters?

I'm a no-more-than-average PvPer. I've probably been killed by everybody on the Shard, including a couple of the posters in this thread.
On the other hand, I've killed a few people in my time - hell, even my Trammel RP mage goes red occasionally (and not from killing AFK resource scripters.)
90+% of the fights I have are fun. I don't care if I win or lose - I just want a change from fighting against monster AI.
As for the other 10%... I have my own little list: I "thiink" xxx is running a pot script; I "think" yyy did things that are not feasible using regular game mechanics; I "think" that zzz runs a bit too quick. I avoid these people wherever possible, but if they kill me, I just shrug it off and go and look for a res, without getting too stressed about it.

    Attitude is everything.

    3) If you feel you have exhausted the possibilities of UO in 48hours gameplay, then I would respectfully suggest that UO is not the game for you.

I'm sorry you are so disillusioned after such a short time, but that's your choice. *shrugs*

Most people who can run faster than me have one of the following:

A better ping to the server

A better pc processing the information

Better hand/eye co-ordination for running around obstacles

    Faster reactions.

Very few have 'enhanced' capabilities through illicit programmes.

Too many people are too quick to shout 'cheat' when they don't know how something is done.
Terry, particularly, has been accused of cheating numerous times. One GM appeared unexpectedly beside him one night and told him 'this is the 3rd time tonight I've been called to watch you, you're doing nothing wrong, carry on'.

We even got accused of speed hacking when we were on dial up!

When i played alot i got accused of cheating every day. Several times. I dont play much anymore. Maybe a few hours a week, and i still get called a cheater.
We've been accused of running so many hacks its kind of hilarious.

speedhacks, lag hacks, sdi hacks, invulnerable hacks, resist spells hacks. The list is long, but as petra said, the peopel who call us that have very little knowledge of the game mechanics.

invul hack came from making a UOAssist macro spamming "name [invulnerable]" as a text macro.

speedhacks is just getting around easier, having decent ping and a normal computer.

    sdi hacks is non existant.

    resist hacks is a secret.
