Thinking of upgrading your computer? Not so fast! The next generation of super computers may be released within the next five years, according to a Financial Times article. These machines will use light, rather than electricity, for computing.

If you have the budget of Canada, Australia, or Singapore--or all three budgets combined, like the U.S. Defense Department--you might be able to purchase your very own quantum computer!

  2. Most people I know upgrade every 3 years. 5 years is a long ways off.
