Question on Passive Meditation & Spell Channeling

Discussion in 'UHall' started by AtlanteanAngel, Feb 26, 2010.

  1. I tried actively meditating with a non-SC shield / weapon equipped, the shield / weapon dropped (just like as if I was casting a mage spell).

My question is, would I still be able to passively meditate (ie. MR bonus) with the non-SC shield / weapon equipped?

Or does the non-SC shield / weapon behave exactly like non-meddable armor, and effectively nullify any MR bonus from meditation skill?

In other words, if you use a non-SC shield and/or weapon, does it mean taking up Meditation is useless? (ie. no passive meditation hence no MR bonus)

    Thanks for any replies.

passive would not be affected, only active meditation is i believe, not 100% sure though.
  3. Thanks for your reply, RawHeadRex. Yes, empirical observation seems to support your hypothesis. Hopefully this is the case, it'll help with a lot of templates.

For what its worth I can confirm passive meditation still works while wielding a non SC weapon.
  5. Thanks for your reply, AzSel. That's good to know.

So (for the info and benefit of all players) to summarize :

Only non-meddable / non-mage *armor* will nullify passive meditation (so don't take up meditation unless you're using leather / mage-armor).

Non-meddable / non-SC weapons and shields will still allow for passive meditation (so taking up meditation is still useful for MR).

    Sweet. :)
