I'm Curious between 2 templates and was wondering what would be the more effective one. These are just From what I've put together between multiple threads and some of my own thoughts. Please explain why you say what you say thank you.

    Temp 1

    120 Weap
    115 Bush
    120 Parry
    100 tact
    99 Nec
    80 Resis
    66 Chiv

I'm capped at 700 Points so I can Jewel the 5 bushido.

    Temp 2

    120 Weap
    115 Bush
    120 Anat
    100 Tact
    120 Parry
    99 nec
    rest chiv + jewels

Like I said I'm new and in need of some Guidance so all help is welcome.

    Thanks again.

I don't want to say 66 Chivalry is useless, but I think a lot of people would aim for around 83 or 84 skill points in Chivalry.

Hm I think I have heard a lot of people say that if you go for Resist, then go for 120. 80 Resist could be pretty useless. Resist is most useful against monsters that have necromancy and thus can curse you. Might also be true for monsters with mysticism - who could purge off your vampire form, which is a nasty thing during a fight indeed. I am not sure if Magic Resist helps against the purge, but it probably would.

Please consult the damage calculation formulas:
Damage Calculations - UOGuide, the Ultima Online encyclopedia

I think these formulas show that a high tactics is more useful than a high anatomy. You might want to switch the 100 / 120 around.

Apart from that, a lot of Sampires will follow these aims (probably among others):

    • Maximize Hit Chance Increase through your gear.
    • Maximize Defense Chance Increase.
    • Maximize Lower Mana Cost (e.g. for Armor Ignore and many more).
    • Ultimately get 300 skill points together in skills that give you a discount on mana cost for Weapon Specials like Armor Ignore. Example: 120 Bushido + 120 Swordsmanship + 60 Parrying = 300 skill points --> Desired discount.
    • Maximize Damage Increase.
    • Maximize your resists - 70 in all, 75 probably in Energy Resist if you are an elf. Keep in mind that Vampire form will lower your fire resist by 25. So actually you need 95, not 70 fire resist. The "Corpse Skin" spell can lower fire and poison for 15 more points, therefore you might want to invest even more here, i.e. if you plan to be frequently hit by the "Corpse Skin" spell.
    • Often times you will want "Hit Lower Defense" somewhere on your armor or weapon.
    • Sampire Weapons often have "Mana Leech" and "Stamina Leech" as properties.
    • Lots of Stamina Increase, Hit Point Increase and maybe also Mana Increase can be helpful.
    • Stamina helps you swing your weapon fast. Most Sampires aim for the maximum (I think it's "1.25"). To reach this goal, Stamina often is not enough, you also have to care about the base weapon speed and "Swing Speed Increase". There is a calculator to help you maximize your swing speed here: Knuckleheads.dk • SSI Calc
    • Honor everything.

In the most cases we can't say that one template is better than another. It depends on varios factors.

What equipment do you have or how much money are you going to spend for equipment?
A template that works very good with 300m equipment may be terrible with 3m equipment.

What is your aim in the game for this char?
Some people mostly play in party, other people prefer play solo.
Some templates are universal but as result vs any monsters there are better templates. Other templates are optimized (for example, vs UEV) and allow you to kill this monsters 2x faster... but they work very bad vs some other monster types.

Some people want to maximize efficiency of the char while other preffer "comfort". So they don't use potions, apples, dragon armor, etc... (they don't want spend time to prepair to fighting).

    What hunting you want?
UEV and peerless boss(dreadhorn and paroxy) or champion spawn?
Sampire need resisting spell for champion spawn, dont need for UEV.( can fight UEV and peerless boss,a little slow :D)

And now reforging and imbuing is great, sometime not need chivary.
But 80 chiv over is better.

    Thanks for your responses.

My aim is for Solo content completion I.E. downing tough mobs for goodies. My friends play at various other times when I'm not on so it's almost always me by myself.

The reason i chose the 80 resist was to ignore the paras and such from certain mobs though I agree 120 is better.

As for gear I've been running with Scimitars for the whirlwind (can't find any decent longswords) and full resists. I have a few arties : quiver of infin , mace and shield glasses, fey legs, heart of the lion and the rest is leather to up the res.

I'm just unsure of how to build my template as you can see.

Sampires live by creating the maximum damage output and leeching back life in Vamp Form. There are times I use resist and they are all for fighting necro casting monsters (blood oath can be the quick death of a sampire). Even for normal casting mobs, I think it is more important to hit hard so I go with anatomy over resist.

For 700 skill points, start with this:

120 Weapon Skill (all are viable)
    120 Bushido
    120 Tactics
    100 Anatomy
    99 Necromancy
    81 Chivalry
    60 Parry

The resist at anything below 120 isn't going to help you that much in the long run. You can use consumables and a trap box to pretty much handle things so I would think that your spending points on something without getting much in return. Chiv at 66 is also a bit low in the long run as you should relly be shooting for 84 or 85

As always thank you for your responses.

I'm curious as to why you aim for an 84ish Chiv?

At 84 Chiv, Enemy of One (EOO) gives you a 50% damage increase bonus. Pair 100 DI from the suit, perfection from bushido, and EOO at 84+ chiv brings you the damage output cap.

    Thank you for explaining that.
