Red moongate glitch and are Lobster Traps meant to be stealable?

Other day a friend of mine said she saw a red moongate near my ship, and I thought that was odd. I was doing Lobster Traps this afternoon and when I clicked on the water near the traps, it said "red moongate." I'm in Tram, NW of Skara, and there isn't any moongate graphic visible. Seems like the tile disappeared when the traps were removed. Anyone else have weird moongate glitches on ship? I was clicking on open water in between what was two traps.

Also, anyone in my guild can double click my lobster traps in Tram, and anyone who is blue can double click them in Fel (as in, take them from the water). There is a message that the owner of the traps receives about noticing that so and so committed the theft or whatever, but there is no criminal flag. Why, then, is there even a message? Blues in Tram cannot take from other blues.

Probably reusing code from other stuff and forgot that the message was in there?

Have you checked the security settings on your boat. If you have guild set to Crew or Officer they can do basically anything on the boat you can. Maybe changing it to passenger they will not be able to.

In Fel I can imagine allowing others to swipe your traps could be intended. Just to encourage PvP etc. If your boat and you are attackable, imo your traps should be able to be lifted so you will have to defend them. You know?

I've gotten "Cave entrance" and other odd descriptions from water tiles since the publish as well.

It's possible to lift another players traps from a dock.

I'm wondering what else slipped through, or if this deliberate.

It's possible to snoop a pirates pack with no skill, in Tram. Next time we catch one, I'll grab my thief and see can she steal anything.

It's possible to scuttle another players boat in Tram.

It's possible to take another players deployed pots in Tram.

I don't play Fel because I play for fun. I understand that some folks idea of fun is Fel game play, and that's just fine with me - each to their own. But my chosen facet is NOT Fel, because to me, that's not fun. So why are we seeing aspects of Fel creeping into Tram?

Ummmmm... The only words I can think of I am not supposed to post on here.. so gonna go with ... WOW!

Still say good job by the Dev's tho, don't care how many testers you have nor how often you test something, nothing shows problems like "going live"

I heard you could scuttle during Beta, haven't tried it yet, but that's also a concern. All I know is old boats seem very easy to break into, and that's a carry over from Beta that was never fixed I believe.

I tested a blue char of mine against another char I have and first char could not steal the traps. Have you tested trap thievery since production publish? Edit: nevermind, I'll have to test from shore, I tested from ship and a blue couldn't take traps that way (in Tram).

My thing is why isn't it a flaggable offense? Otherwise, why have the criminal message?

Yeah, we've tested from shore. You can definitely lift someone elses traps. As for the scuttling thing - yes, we've tested that too. There's some twit on our shard who's sailing round threatening to scuttle people unless they pay him 10k 'protection'. He's fired on me a couple of times and I've scuttled him in return. Not in the same guild, and in Tram.

You get a message about stealing lobster traps in Felucca if the owner is nearby, also flags you as a criminal.

Did you test that on shore Risso?

Maybe, as others have noted, there aren't flags off a ship, but there are off a shore -- or maybe, more precisely, there needs to be a third party witness or something, perhaps an NPC? Seems odd though ... just because everyone is accessed to boat doesnt mean a blue should be able to take trap from another blue, right? But we tested on ship and that was the case.
