    I'm a Mage/Necro using the KR client.

I've been seeing some bugs, alot actually but a possiuble one that really confuses me is the Reflect Magic spell.

It no longer works for me.

Has something been changed to it?

I've come back from a 3 year gap so I've missed alot I bet, but this really bugs me.

I was in the Fire dungeon killing Mage Lords and the reflect spell just wasn't doing jack, and I died several times because of it, which kinda makes the spell bloody pointless!

Is it just me or has anyone else got this?

  2. Magic reflect, protection, and reactive armor all work differently since AoS was released, but that was a more like 4 years ago. All magic reflect does now is simply add a few pts. to your elemental resists, while lowering your physical resist. But if it is not even doing that, then i have no idea what is wrong.

So it doesn't reflect the spell back at the attacker???

Jesus H Christ what a pointless spell!

Reflect Magic was a pointless spell back before AOS. There was no way to counter it, so everyone opened up with magic arrow. It pretty much set the tempo of PvP fights, a mage ALWAYS had top open up small or risk getting nuked by their own spell.

Reflect Magic and Reactive armor now boost defense and are boosted by GM inscription.

it's not a pointless spell at all if you're GM scribe:
    - Cast Reactive Armor for +20 Physical, -5 Fire/Cold/Poison/Energy
    - Cast Magic Reflect for -20 Physical, +10 Fire/Cold/Poison/Energy
= Total: +0 Physical +5 Fire/Cold/Poison/Energy, it's free and permanent, even if you die...

Note that on some non GM scribes, it may be still be interesting too:
    - Cast Reactive Armor for +15 Physical, -5 Fire/Cold/Poison/Energy
    - Cast Magic Reflect for -25 Physical, +10 Fire/Cold/Poison/Energy
= Total: -10 Physical +5 Fire/Cold/Poison/Energy, it's still a good deal (10 free points overall) but you need to have high physical armor.

I use that trick on my warriors (using +magery items and a scroll to activate Magic Reflect the first time). Actually I can't think of a single char which shouldn't be using those free points, except if for some reason you can't manage to use a high physical armor (aim 80 for no penalties)

  6. lot's of people probably soulstone scribe over to cast it. Sounds like a good idea to me

Reflect was far from pointless in pvp before aos. It was essential. There are still jewels around these days when reflect still works.

If you PvP its not permanent. It can be removed with a Talisman of Ward Removal.
