"Reflect Physical Damage" question

  1. I am not familier with the calculations on the amount of damage returned when using any item or armor that has the "reflect physical damage" modifier,so I just assumed that the math on it was pretty straight forward. IE if you have a suit that has 50% reflect physical and take 50 damage from a hit,25 is returned back to the attacker. Is this not correct? Or does the physical resist of the attacker come into play?

    I have the Aegis shield equiped as you can see,and no other armor that provides that mod. I have never been great in math but,15% of 27 damage is not 1.
     
  2. i'm pretty sure the reflected damage is resisted. it's one reason it's not all that valuable.
     
  3. Yeah I am thinking the typical resist of an Arctic OL is 60-70 so 27 damage/15% minus 70% resist=1 hp damage. :( The reflect damage should be AI damage.

    That doesn't come into play at all. You have to figure out what type of damage he's dealing. It deals 30% physical and 70% cold. So you're only going to be reflecting 50% of the 30% that he's dealing to you total. 27x.3=8.1 then 8.1x.5=4.05. 4 damage is what you're more then likely going to reflect.
     
  5. So each hit an artic OL is mixed with each hit(physical/cold)? Thats good to know. I thought is was all of one element or the other. Just the RNG dictating which element was used.Thanks for that.:thumbup1:

    It's not random. It's always 30% physical damage and 70% cold damage of his base attack. then it gets divided up by your resists, then reflected.

    its kinda pointless unless you have 80+ RPD. I have a 4/6 dexxer with 100% RPD, poor kids kill themselves and dont even know it. AI's suck though, just saying.



    BTW, if you do make a RPD suit, make sure physical is your lowest resist for cons weapon. A perfect suit is corpse proff (stays above 60) and physical @ 59.

    In pvp that's what you want to do, and pair it up with spellweaving's attunment, but I think this guy's doing pvm in which case having 59 physical would most likely be a bad thing.

    Likewise, 15% RPD would yield 1.215, or 1.

    Only problem with RPD in PvP is it aggros you first, lol.

    Really? Nice, don't remember it in pub notes. Always thought it was weird how reflect damage came before initial damage lol.

    Yeah they fixed it before spellweaving came out lol. So quite a while back. I used to run with the 100% suit/Word of death/Death strike(back when you didn't need Stealth/Hiding for damage) holy light spam/AI spam, and all kill with 4 pixies lol. Good ol days :).
