It has been my Token Reptalons exercise week, so I have been ooot and aboot with it.

I get the impression that its .... time in the stables has changed it.

Was wondering if anyone else has .... noticed anything.

I don't use my reptalon very much. I don't make a habit of killing blood eles (which they excel at) and usually I need to take the stealth tamer to Travesty (which it did good at, too) for key dropping and she doesn't have it. It really should be dropped down to a two or three slot pet. I think my unicorn is better than it in most instances.

I've left feedback about the pitiful state of the reptalon numerous times, but the poor things get no love.

At the risk of being perceived as attacking someone, ending up on their ignore list .... or worse ....

    *Shrug*

You may want to see if you believe that your Reptalon is the same Reptalon you last used.

It was my opinion that the Reptalon should have been a 2 slot. I am going to pit it vs other Mobs to see ... how it does.

Versus the Mobs I was using last night, I was ... well surprised as they were physical attack mobs and my Token Reptalon only has a 58% Physical Resist.

I just came back in from doing the same Mobs with my Rune Beetle. Again I was very surprised by the difference between the Reptalon experience last night and the Rune Bettle experience this morning.

There has been no intentional attack performed in this reply. If anything has offended anyone one, then it certainly was not my intent.

Yeah, it's the same one. Only ever had one in the stable and trained it. I have gone out with one of my cu's before thinking it was my best one only to not be able to figure out why it wasn't doing very well and finally notice it was a newly bonded untrained one.

I took it out and tested it against an ogre lord, arctic ogre lord, and a blood elemental. The other pet I tested it against was my regular dragon (3 slot). Reptalon still tanks the blood eles better, but they killed it in about the same amount of time. Both ogre lord types would have killed the reptalon if I hadnt started vetting when it got low. Dragon didn't have any issue killing them before it reached half health. I'll go see what happens with my mare later tonight.

Gack, sorry, meant to ammend this this morning.

It must have been a fluke. Versus Ogre Lord the Reptalon was doing 75..120 Damage (according the red numbers) was knocking off the Ogre Lords with at most 20% damage off their health with no veting or healing. Or in short, on average, I was required to do a few heals, on average about every 3 Ogre Lords. Some of the Ogre Lords would do the 20% damage and I would heal it off when the fight was done. I took it to the Cyclops in Despise and let it play with them and basically healed it like 2 times in maybe 4 complete circuits. I went to the Mines and played with the Yamoto(?) Worriors in there and he was quite ok in there. I needed to toss a few heals his way when they double teamed him, otherwise he was doing ok.

Last night all was back to normal and the Reptalon required the normal amount of Healing. Max Damage I was seeing was in the 50 ... 70 range.

As I have no history on what the Reptalons were, I will throw this out in case it makes any sense to anyone.

Saturday night, when I was seeing the fluke, I noticed some things. I use the Enhanced Client with the SA_Enhanced Custom UI. On the Pet and Mob gumps it gives you life as a percentage.

Now then mostly and perhaps always (as in most were way to close to make that statement with authority), I was noticing that the when the Mob being attacked was a distance away, it's health would go down, maybe 5% to 10% while the Reptalon was walking on over to do its thing. I have todate just attributed this to a lag in the visual representation of the two objects vs the server side positioning, as I believe the Reptalon does not have a range attack.

I cant use the enhanced client. Background when I move makes me have a screaming headache and puke.

Reptalons breathe fire. Only ranged attack they have. Hmm does the new client not show the breath?

You got me out testing pets, and that's good. I ran the nightmare against the same things as the rept and dragon. vs the blood ele, the mare did about same as dragon and worse than the rept. vs the other the mare did better than the rept and a bit worse than dragon, mostly because of HP.

Poor reptalons really do need reduced to two slot pets.

I never saw a Fire Attack from the Reptalon, Careless me got its dumb butt killed by the first Ogre Lord as I was fussing with the Pet and Mob Gumps trying to get them lined up health wise, next thing I new the Ogre Lord was targeting me and what the heck were is my Reptalon ..... *Shrug* I whistled for his ghost to follow me and rez'd him. That reminded me why I thought it should be a 2 slot Pet.

What I did see is what I can only imagine is supposed to be a Poison Cloud around the Enemy. If this is the case then it is totally bogus :) as it is perpetual even when I call off the Reptalon. I would have probably fictionalized the Poison attack as ... well it is really a disease attack being done by the Claws and Bite and not used the Cloud.

Hehe. As I said, I have personal issues with the enhanced client. I have serious motion sickness issues in cars, too, though.

Reptalons have firebreath and paralyze as their special attacks. Paralyze is pretty useless cause they will hit with that then immediate hit again and break it. Now if they paralyzed and breathed, that would work much better as breath attacks seem to take a moment.

I could see the paralyze effect as it is pretty much the same effect the Skree sleep used and some others. It is a concentric series of Blue Circles that start at the top, say the head of the target as a large circle then decrease in size as it decrease in the Y axis.

Hi, looks like reptalons dont worths, specially having cu's, gd's and so already, but i want one, at least to try, in uoguide this beast are supposed to be ridable :O i like it, but my question is, in a place like laberynth, going solo, what's the better way to tame it? I mean, rend and miasma can be a "little" annoying :D

Geting to the Tames is one problem ...

Then clearing out a space to tame is another ...

I have a Peace Tamer and a Stealth Tamer, while I am sure that one can just try to run on by the obstacles, it sure does help to have a way to lose aggro other than casting Invis. But if you do not have Peace or Stealth then your going to want to get all the advice you can get on how to lose aggro, I am just ill equipped to give it.

Clearing a Taming spot is a tad bit easier. Just get everyone's attention and lead them away. Easy enough to say but the trick is to do that without dieing.

Once the above is accomplished, the actual taming of the Reptalon is not all that tough and of course getting out is going to be about as challenging as getting in was, but at least your riding so .....

  13. yeah i got a rep.. he's a 3.7 on the pet calc.
looks cool as hell but as mentioned earlier only good for killing blood ellie's.

ea should up the rep's AI so when it paralyzes a target it uses it's fire breath immediately following other wise it's totally useless..

it is truly a mystery why cu's got all the good, and reps got nothing???( well besides thye can be trained in wrestling up to what they had pre tame..)

i just hold on to mine hoping ea will one day fix this poor neglected pet.

They only train up to 90% of their pre-tame wrestling. You'll notice they drop skills way down after taming like was later implemented for the greater dragons.

If I remember right, this beast was very nasty when it was in it's beta and then it got hit with a nerf stick so bad.

I'm not going to get rid of my one trained one. He gets ridden and used every now and then, just not very often.

I've noticed a number of people reporting issues this week with the "poison cloud" in the Enhanced Client not dissipating as it should. Any chance that the monster your reptalon was attacking caused the cloud? (I read that paragraph that you were killing ogre lords, so if yes, then I guess they wouldn't have been making a poison cloud and it had to be a visual for some other effect.) (After killing platinum dragons last night, now I wonder if something was tweaked with effect "clouds" because those things sure liked to use them. LOL)

Nah, It was Ogre Lords, Cyclopian Warriors, Titans (Yes they can cast Poison), Shadow Ore Elementals, Swoop etc.

It is the Enhanced Client, the cloud is a PITA especially when both the pet and the mob cast them as you can't see diddly squat for the humongous cloud that is formed. It is kind of like a Perpetual Flame Strike animation that is Pea Green in color and maybe a tad bit wider.

Well, it was easier i thought, a littly risky entering to the repta zone and luring two ones after me running to the entrance, with my gd playing with miasma meanwhile, and a lot of Minos in the way, killed first, tamed second one after dropping its life to 5%, at first attempt, me lucky. Although, it have almost maximum hp and strenght, dont remember skills pre-tame, and about 80%-90 of max resist (no time to look for the best one), i tried him in the power pet calc. and not even reach a 3 stars! :S
is crap or fresh tames get very low score? it dont looks so bad when i look its stats, obviously its skills are pathetic.
