Returning Player (2004ish) necro/nox warrior hybrid viable for pvp?

Discussion in 'UO Warrior' started by Ben Dragonsong, Apr 30, 2012.

  1. Years ago I use to have a lot of fun with a Necro Nox swordsman in pvp. Ran with a fireball cleaver. used bleed strangle dp pain spike and at the time death strike. It was mostly an offensive template a glass cannon of sorts. Im just curious if a template like this is still viable or even used anymore. I ran: swords, tactics, nox, necro, ss, ninjitsu.

Other then your healing issues I don't see why it couldn't work. I would never run it but thats a preference issue.

  3. Im only looking at it from an offensive standpoint. I use to run with a mage partner it was an amazing gank template. Always had heals when i needed em and i was a complete terror offensively. basicaly if you didnt break the combo you died. Was very mobile as well, if the fight swung to the other side i was always able to get away (bolas, animal form, pots, pet summons ball etc). It seems nowadays there is a lot more methods of healing via pots and bonus' etc. It was a challenge than to stay healed up solo but i always did ok. i never used it as a template to duel:) It was more for pure cheap killing pleasure. I appreciate the feedback though Mirt, I read a lot of your posts. In todays meta is deathstrike still common? and how do i maximize its use (dmg wise of course). does it still do over 40 dmg? if so how?

If they run it sure does and it is still used. Splintering weapons will give you a huge edge too if your using focusing as well. It is still pretty common and nox has been given a bunch of buffs lately. You might want to run this with a mystic mage because cleansing winds will give it a huge boost as well. Many folks still run even when they hear the deathstrike noise so you can still use it well. It has an amazing damage potential and could even do some pvm coverage if you go into vamp form. Evil omen and a few strangles could also add to your damage. If your mage is back you really could cause a ton of problems for folks.

  5. Awesome, thats what i wanted to hear. I was an avid pvper on napa in those times and people hated this char more than any of my others, and ya mystics were not even around nor the splintering weapon mod, those both sound like really nasty additions for the template. Im gonna see what I can do with this. Ill do some template tweaking and post it up here with some gear ideas maybe see what people think.

Great idea I look forward to seeing it. Well not seeing it personally but knowing how it goes. In a team I think it would work.

I could be wrong, but I believe that in order to DS for any decent amount of damage you now have to have Hiding and Stealth.

    Here's what UOGuide says:

After receiving a Death Strike, if the opponent moves more than 5 steps, or 3 seconds elapses, they will suffer Direct Damage determined by the attacker's Ninjitsu, Hiding, and Stealth skill levels, as well as whether or not the opponent has been tracked. The damage is capped at 50 for PVP.
