OK after returning I realized that there were some decent changes.

My Sammy is still old school like. So my template is:
    120 Swords
    120 Bushido
    120 Parry
    100 Anatomy
    100 Tactics
    99 Necro
    61 Chiv

So I read through a couple of threads an found out that chivalry has changed. So I need to bring it up to 84 to get my EEO maxed out. Ok no Problem. I recalculated my Equipment to match the criteria.
Now I´m at max resists, and these stats without a weapon (Str Dex 150 with pots)

Now I thought aboutan appropriate weapon. I used to fight with Double Axes because and 30 SSI. The damage output is extremely nice and with 100 DI EEO and perfection I did´n really need a slayer

Now I found out that LS was nerfed, so it can´t be chained anymore.

    DI 70 HPI 25 MI 32 SI 33 HCI 45 DCI 45 MR 2 HPR 4 SR 4 SSI 5 LMC 33 HLD 30 LUCK 220 Enhance Pots 25
Most people now do the following: They set parry to 60, increase tactics and anatomy to 120 and use a longsword because AI can be chained.

I really don´t understand this. AI lowers the weapon damage to 90% and makes no sense if i already use the right elemental weapon against the opponent.

So why not use Double Axes? Double Strike is really nice and has the same mana costs. The wepon damage is higher and you have whirlwind as well which profits from 120 parry.

Ok its a 2-h weapon, but for str dex pots a macro is no problem, swithing to a 1 handed weapon and drink

If I´m missing sth please tell me :)

Its mostly down to personal preference, i still run with the old template like yours. I tried the 60 parry/84 chiv but didnt really see much difference. I still use a double axe for the wirlwind and double strike when needed also when i dont wana hit any keys and just watch the screen ;)

I use the sword and a shield set up for chaining AI as double strike does slightly less damage and without a shield with some serious mana bonuses its hard to spam AI without max LMC, it means you get hit a bit more but the leeches outweigh it.

A damage is low even if it double strike as the high resist monster, however armor ignoir have good damage.
But not high resist monster, double strike is better.
If you fight only UEV,parry down and lumberjacking up,and use double axe,it good damage.
No lumberjacking,I think armor igonoir is good.

What is a right elemental damage vs Shimmering Effusion - UOGuide, the Ultima Online encyclopedia?

AI is universal. You don't worry about monster's resists. Vs tough monsters AI usually does 3x more damage than normal hit (1.5x more damage than. DS?). Vs not so hard monsters you rarely fight 1 vs 1 and usually use WW.
Well, AI requires high HML and (tnx to UO RNG) big Mana pool. But if you can chain AI you do a lot of damage and leach a lot of hp... so you can do well even without parry.

High-end sampires does 100+ damage per second vs tough monsters. This means they leach back 20+ hp per second... over poison, mortal strike, etc.
Using bandage you can heal about 10 hp per second only... if not poisoned, mortal striked, etc.
So a sampire is a realy powerful template.

Nowdays, when you can reforge 70 HML on a Soul Glave and a 5 hci/dci on a leather armor piece, may be a thrower sampire template (that fight like a melee char) will be even more powerful. (Throwing, Tactics, Anatomy, Bushido, Chivalry, Necro)

Look at Lynk's my newest sampire thread. His entire purpose is to chain AIs. Now he uses pots to enable his suit. I went with bladed staffs with 20 SSI and 150+ stamina. That gets me max swing speed on a hard hitting AI weapon with a mana pool in the 70s without pots.

I don´t know. I don´t like elves ;-) Just Playing a nice human sampire with plate armor and reforged HCI / DCI. Just killed medusa again. So I think I´m as good as some years ago

He aske what are most. The mana increase makes a huge difference in the ability to chain AI. Recall I didn't say it had to be an elf but it does save you a mod and add extra mana two things you can really never have too much of.

Thank you. Thats what happens when I work to much I stop proofing. Your right of course there should have been an armor ignore and a period there. Its a pretty funny mistake to be honest.

Ok, after some testing I think I´m satisfied with my stats. Formerly I used swordmanship and double axes. Now I changed my equip using Ep 50 and Pots. I didn´t like switching 2 h weapons to 1 h to use str and agility pots. So I decided to go along with fencing and leaf blades. For trash I use radiant scimitars with use best weapon skill and it really works great. Against hard hitting monsters feint (leaf blades) is really nice.

I can spam Ai quite often even without having 100 mana. Otherwise I use lightning strike.

Equipment here is calcualted with mana phasing orbs but against mobs that are not reponds I use Conjurers trinket for 20 % DI. So my weapons are ok with 32 DI.

The Conjurer´s garb and soles of prvodence are only for increasing my luck a bit. with the 10th anniversary statue and perfection my luck value is really nice.

    So here are my stats:

To me your suit looks fairly good! if you were to swap out some of the pieces and take a bit of time getting good base pieces you could save space on resist imbues and push up your STR and DEX a little so you don't have to rely on potions... also if you use woodland armour you can get decent HCI/DCI on the suit and free up space on your jewels.

I am building a new suit for my sampire at the moment and its taking ages to get the right pieces but onces its dont it will be fantastic. p.s Ultramarines rock! my sampire is named Marneus calgar :)

Sure thing, check out this link

Show me your Uber Sampire Suits !! | Stratics Forums

I am trying to pretty much remake Thunderz suit but hit the 150 HP and bump up mana a bit resists permitting! I am still trying to get hold of all the replicas atm and I have crafter around 100 of each woodland piece in order to sort through tonight to get my base pieces for the rest. Its going to probably eat most of my gold making this though as when enhancing there is only a small chance to get the HCI on the pieces so there will be a lot of waste but I will just sell the left over pieces on my vendor ;)

In my experience lately it's much better to use Reforging to get HCI on your armor instead of using woodland armor.

It would certainly be better to reforge for HCI than to straight craft pieces out of heartwood, but if you are seeking the optimal pieces I still think you want to get the HCI added by enhancing with heartwood. This route is (likely) the more expensive option, but can yield 6 property pieces instead of 5.

No doubt. If you've got the time and $ or large supply of heartwood. I was just mentioning a much, much cheaper and easier option.

Like Semmerset said, against a high Resists monster, AI out performs Double Strike for damage. But against a low Resists monster (Or one made to be, with Disco+Corpse Skin), Double Strike does more damage. Why i prefer Kats over Longswords, they have both AI and Double Strike, as well as a good balance between damage and speed.

A Whammy can do just as much damage, and leech back 50 hp/sec and 20 Mana/sec with 100 DPS. A Whammy build in Vampire Form, would leech back 70 hp/sec with 100 DPS.

Elf. They nerfed Humans into the dirt, and the only thing Humans do better than the other races now, is gather leather basically. They've nerfed the "Jack of All Trades" racial for Humans several times. They made it no longer contribute -10 Mana Cost to specials (Which is what let Humans compete with Elves in the Mana department), and they've inadvertently nerfed it by nerfing the other skills at low values, like Chiv now requiring high Chiv to be effective at all.

I think the way to get HCI pieces is to reforge for 5 HCI and then enhance with HW until you get one with 10 HCI. This would be about 86 imbuing intensity. Then POF and imbue 4 additional mods. It won't be as powerful as a crazy 6 mod piece, but it won't cost anywhere as much to craft either.

Reforge to get 5 HCI- pof / imbue / then enhance. I am almost finished with a suit like that, I need to finish it up... been distracted lately.

why reforge to get hci is better? aren't you getting 1 less property plus resist?

No, not really. Originally, you could do the heartwood armor and get a 6 mod piece of armor. which usually consisted of like LMC, SI, MI and resist or HPI... then enhanced with heartwood to get HCI or DI. So, you'd have 6 mods.

With reforging/imbue/enhance you're getting the same number of properties, but you'll be getting 5 HCI and 10 DI or 10 HCI on a piece.

so the end result is the same in terms of no. of property.... because you need to give up one imbue slot to get 5 hci...but you will need to play with the rng game twice.... plus you need the runic.... which is freaking hard get one from heartwood city.... doesn't seems to me a easier way?

Ooh I didn't even think about that... I really want to try that out now.

Of course I have no patience for the Heartwood quests so I'll probably never get a carpentry runic tool.

You can do both with runic saws. I have found that to be the best bet if I could just get the saws that I need to make enough suits.

There is a litle mods you can get on an armor: MI, SI, HPI, LMC, Resists.

You need 5 resist imbues to get all max resists with a Mace&Shield glasses. So you want to imbue 8 MI + 8 SI + 15 resists on each piece.
If you use crimson you need all other mods to maximize HPI and LMC.
If you use crimson + shroud of condemned (3 HPI) you get 1 free mod that can be used to reforge 5 HCI or 5 DCI.
If you use crimson + shroud of condemned (3 HPI) + mana orb (6 LMC) you get 2 free mods.
If you use crimson + shroud of condemned (3 HPI) + slither (10 HPI) you get 4 free mods.
If you use crimson + most knowledge person (5 HPI) + slither (10 HPI) you get 5 free mods.

So you can get 5 SSI, 15 DCI, 30 HCI and 40 DI on your armor (50 DI if you use faction glasses). This gives you additional room on your jewels to imbue skills or to get SSI.
