Short term plans for Taming?

I'm not the only one eager for news in the Taming world, so let's throw a question in the wind:

anyone knows of any short term plan in the taming area?

Maybe a twitter-enabled tamer could ask the producer for a line of news?

Some news on that area would be nice.
I'd love to see some new high end beasts for taming that would compete with the greater dragon.

Nowadays every tamer walks with a really big red or grey lizard following them because we have no other options.

I tried keeping my beloved white wyrm, unicorn combo, but they can't survive long enough for me to heal them when fighting many of the new shame monsters or bosses. :(

I'd like to see a quest to make 1 animal bond faster. Do quest, target tamed pet. Maybe a 1 day wait?

I agree, would LOVE a Greater WW. On par with the GD, takes 5 slots and everything else. Maybe if or when they get around to an Ice revamp. Although when they do hopefully they will allow it to spawn in more than one place and one at a time.

Quicker bonding timer not something I would like to see happen tho *shrugs*. Guess I am too old school to want that.

    Forget the GWW ..............

I want to be able to use my old WW ..... I miss hunting with her!!! and I want to ride my mare doing it!

That walking with the darn GD is for the birds.... and whats with the speed of the pets walking?? I mean i can litterly run on foot 2 full screens away from the bloody thing and its still plodding along like a little old lady!! Thats my job!!

The escalation of pet strength and all is fine IF and only IF you upgrade all the simular pets to that level. Or take off the slot limit or lower the slot requirement for the older pets... I can run like before with my WWs in a pair. On my mare too.

Oh I can hear the back lash on this one ...... the cry of the pvp'r is about to erupt in a no way mode.....

If they made it viable to hunt with white wyrms + mare/unicorn combo again, my greater dragon wouldn't leave the stables.

I loved hunting with them. It feels different.

I would love to see some new content for tamers, or at least fixes for the existing content we have - unloved pets, bugs, that sort of thing. Only after that would I really think about more new pets and beyond.

But "no" to boosts that end up effectively creating different varieties of greater dragon. Don't want that at all, and certainly I wouldn't ever support that. I may be the only tamer who thinks we have enough power... but I honestly don't want more GD level pets.

If I had any hopes for taming beyond bug fixes and old pet love, it would be either to make real skill required to bond/control pets or give us home stabling similar to coops, but for normal pets. Neither of which I expect to see, but I'll throw them out there anyway.

Random small things - let us command pets by name, even when their names include spaces. As in "fluffy sheep kill" won't currently work, while "fluffy kill" does. Any pet name format should work when giving commands.

Let pets unstick themselves a bit better. If I can herd a pet to follow me and it unsticks itself fine, why can't the same pet unstick himself when I tell him to stop and follow...or come?

One that will get me hateful glares but I'll say it anyway - delay autostabling a pet if the owner logs out in the heat of battle. In other words a pet will autostable, but if you're fighting with it at the time, there will be a delay. No more logging out to save a pet, but if you do genuinely lose connection, after the delay, the pet goes into your stables for you to collect.

Make a craftable pet summoning ball that works for 1 use in Ilshenar or places where you can't usually summon pets. Folk use the log out/in trick to get round those restrictions anyway, so just add that feature in.

The dev team are always introducing gold sinks; so here's my briefly sketched idea for a new taming feature incorporating that concept...

What do the greatest dragons in fantasy usually have? A cavern full of treasure of course. So let's say that as a house lock down, you need to put aside a small "Horde Room". Treat it like the plant beds now, a multi tile construction, added via a deed, but which needs physical space. Maybe 8x8 like the Codex? So you've already got to sacrifice space to place it; Then you also have to sacrifice enough gold and jewels to make it visibly attractive and financially impressive...

Maybe there's also a weekly charge for having it installed? Call it "Thieving Hobbits Cost", as every week one little sod gets in and steals something expensive, which much be replaced with more gold.

Then, you must go into the wild and subdue a particularly fine creature; my own preference would be something with an Ancient Wyrm skin, and let's say a small but significant strength boost over a Greater Dragon... 5-10% over all stats and skills maybe, depending on balance. But what ever it is, make it stronger and visually more exotic than what we currently have.

It has to be beaten down first though using the subduing code we already have. Once beaten, it then has to be temporarily stored inside a crystal or ball, to be taken back to your home and shown the new treasure pile. Roll against taming skill to get it into the container. Normal skill loss rules apply of course on capture.

Once back at the home again, the crystal/ball is broken, and assuming there's enough gold and jewels in the horde to appease it, the dragon now stays; the horde acts as ONE extra stable slot, only for that creature, but when stabled there the dragon is left visible to all, animated counting and playing with the gold. It acts as impressive house deco when not out hunting, roaring and greeting people to the house.

If the horde isn't good enough, or the player lets it decay below acceptable limits, the dragon escapes, kills the taming owner only for his presumption (if he's nearby, and him only to avoid griefing anyone who has the horde item deployed), and then is gone for ever immediately afterwards.

I'd say let owners recover any remaining gold, like vendors currently work, if they decide to give up such a magnificent beast. So... whaddya all think?

    I want......

    Wait for it.....

    Wait for it........

    PET DYES! Mwahahahaha!

And Greater White Wyrms,Reptalons that don`t suck, dread mares to spawn again and an invisible 6th follower slot. Not to be used with anything else except to be able to ride. Ride an ethy, ride a bug I don`t care. Gargs have mounted speed with Gdragons. No reason we can`t have something to that effect. Ethy with Gdragon or RC. We`re a tamer for cripes sake! Why we hafta wear out our moccasins?

Play as a Gargoyle. Or include ninjitsu into your template so you may use wolf or ossy form. Not every tamer template has to be the same old tamer/mage or tamer/bard template.

I've been a gargoyle for a while, it doesn't work: the dragon is so slow you have to walk anyway :(

I have a garg tamer on LS and even though you outrun your Gdragon (which has freekin wings btw) it is still nice to have mounted speed when something targets you. Alot easier to outrun that paragon or whatever wants to eat you!

Also something I hate and would love to see fixed. The Gdragon sittin there flappin its wings when its fighting but when it comes to travel... just shuffling along with no flight and no wings.Kind of bass akwards if you ask me. I do miss the Gdragons of the 2d in this respect.
