I would like to see factions carry over to trammal. Like order and chaos did. Anyone else?
I think it's a bad idea for a couple of reasons:
(1) It will make Fel even more sparsely populated than it is currently.
(2) Red characters will have even fewer targets than they do now.
(3) It would not be popular with people who only have one account and want to put their best fighter into factions. No longer would they be able to easily switch gears and use that character to do a lot of PvM fighting. Instead, they would have to devote whichever characters they put into factions to doing nothing but PvPing. About a year ago, the rules were changed to allow faction characters to benefit from "beneficial acts" in Trammel. Also changed was the rule that restricted you to one character per account per shard in factions. Now you can have multiple characters from the same account on the same shard in the same faction. I believe both of these changes were made SPECIFICALLY to encourage large guilds to get into factions and give their members the freedom to do PvP part of the time and to do other stuff in Trammel the rest of the time.
With the economy going the way it is, I think more and more people will be shutting down their extra accounts and finding themselves with fewer characters to play with. I'm not sure that many people will want to devote their fighters to PvP only and open themselves up to being clobbered or ganked and put into stat loss no matter where they go.
Just my two cents.
Factions already carry over to Trammel... If Minax or Shadowlords takes a faction city in Fel it gets invaded in Tram.
As for the faction players thermselves... if anything Factioned characters should be limited to Fel. To me it's quite lame for someone to join Factions and hide their factions character in Tram for whatever reason.
I disagree with this, with the current new faction rules, what if I had all my characters in a faction and my house was in tram?? What then!!??
Also, you would have a lot of people pancakes about getting killed in Fel Dungeons, losing their items due to lack of insurance, etc... You could make the statement "Why not just go red?" If it was limited to Felucca, as a red you can get a much more higher reward than being in a faction if it was limited to Felucca..
I would agree if they did it right... They would have to do it right, but I don't see them doing it..

Either move your house to Fel BEFORE you dump ALL of your characters into Factions, or do not dump all of your characters into Factions, one of the two.

Ummm wah? Isn't that a prt of "life" in Fel? I thought Fel was about "risk" and that the main "risk" was the risk of losing your stuff due to PvP. Or are the "hardcore" PvPers all Trammies at heart?
as a red you can get a much more higher reward than being in a faction if it was limited to Felucca.
It's up to the player to decide what the reward they want out of the game, so not sure what you mean by this one.
yep be fun to watch them battle it out at the many popular tram hunting grounds though events it could prove a bit distracting but then if you go to an event on your faction character your asking for abuse and a fight so let them have it just make sure they are sorta hidden from journal logs so they don't mess up the event for everyone by spaming the journal full of useless crap.
My biggest reason for wanting this, is that I seem to see more people in factions on the tram side. Other then at yew, I rarely see anyone in factions. I think that joining factions shouldnt be about getting the items to use in tram. If it flowed over to the other facets then it would stop that, or at least make owning the items alot more risky.
On a side note, I would love to see faction members unable to attack a member of your own faction. I seem to die more from "friendly fire" then anything else.
You don't understand, all my characters are already in a faction, and my house is in Trammel when they made this change, I don't put up a house in Tram and then dump them in..
The game has become very, very WoWish, very depended upon by items, people want their "0mg look at my uber l33t gear!" Even Pvpers, and that is why there is no more risk, people are not willing to lose sets of armor that are worth millions.. There is no more hardcore PvP because of this.. I would agree with you if there was no item insurance in Felucca, there shouldn't be.. Those already in factions btw probably do not want to be forced to be limited to Felucca, I know I wouldn't, people are limited to Felucca because they chose to do "bad deeds" in the game, and they wanted to do that... I don't join a faction to be limited to Felucca, especially when there is barley any reward in a faction, they are almost pointless, and then you have stat loss + beneficial acts, which makes red being much more fun than being any a faction.. So here is how it works, if factions were limited to Fel, why join when you can just go red?
There is a lot of things in the game that get the wrong player rewarded.. Some people get rewarded because they didn't deserve it and some people don't get rewarded because they did..
I vote no.
My reasons being...
1) Trammel isn't a PvP facet (nor are the tram ruleset facets). If you want faction pvp in tram war other guilds.
2) The faction rule setting was just removed from tram, why re-implement it...
Read my thread on how they can implement factions in Trammel, and..... Warring is currently broken, there is no guilds that war.... NONE I SAY!
You fail, factions were never allowed to aggro each other in tram.
Faction fighting needs to be included in trammel. These cowards horde points by exploiting the point system just so they can wear their items. They never participate in factions and never PvP. Them doing this offsets the minimum points required to wear items for honest factioners.
Yup, I dont remember pvping on trammel under any faction flag.
Honesty... lets see... scripting, speedhacking and mass ganking. The last is ok... the first two are not. If/When those are fixed... you MIGHT see some players return to pvp.
For the record: I'm Red, Minax... and I pvp on a daily basis... and yes... I see the cheating on a daily basis too... from the usual speedhacking to the rare fast casting... that is limited to a few players on my shard.
As I have stated I do not believe that current factions should carry over to Trammel... I think they should just add in two new ones specifically for Trammel ruleset, this includes Malas, and Tokuno, and Ish, and it would be disabled in Felucca ruleset, like how the current faction system is Trammel.. Two is all they need, a good and a evil one to fight each other, seeing as how it is in Trammel, they could make it casual, there would be less speedhacking, less griefing, and all that, there wouldn't be full player looting or stealing again as it is in Trammel, it would get a lot people into PvP who are casual players and start to fill empty ghost towns back up, I think they should use different towns for it than the ones in Felucca though, maybe all the towns...
I have not quit PvP altogether, I usually roleplay now and days in UO, and PvP when there is a good scenario going on like the current Vesper Cvil War on Europa, is a RP scenario going on and involves lots of fair and balanced PvP...
I PvP in other games as well, just because I don't go to Felucca Yew and play tag with other players does not mean I hate PvP, I love it, just that, in UO, the so called "Hardcore" has been broken for some time now and I will not go back to it unless they fix it, PvP in UO is no longer hardcore and it is not casual...
as a red you can get a much more higher reward than being in a faction if it was limited to Felucca.

It is also up to the player if they want to have their character in Tram or Fel. It is their character and their account. Why change factions at all to where faction characters couldn't go to tram. They are not Red they can play where ever they want. To bad if you want more targets. Then war a guild where you are attackable anywhere.
Factions should have the best weapons and armour available in the game. As the result of that is that your open to attack anywhere.
I agree 100%
I voted yes because the option of limiting them to fel wasnt available,
As far as i remember the whole lore of factions is fighting to control the feluccia facet, as such they should be forced to live, fight and die in that facet...be it dexxer, mage, tamer, crafter. whomever choses an allegiance with someone attempthing to control a facet they should attempt to control that facet!!
Maybe if once a faction has complete control of the facet then all other members of that faction can move freely between the shards for the time that fel is under control, the second it gets broken they are teleported back to felucca (except maybe if in doom or a peerless run teleporting them outta there would be harsh. however if a char is logged in the facet and the shard is divided they are teleported on re-log to faction stronghold).
Imagine for a minute if this happened, imagine the fights!!! controlling towns would actually mean something again!!!
Which I think says more about the state of actual pvp then it does about the game mechanics of factions points....who cares if someone has upteen billion points? If it's about the actual combat... which we all know it is so pathetically riddled with illegal 3rd party programs, those that don't cheat can't compete. And battling a mirror image of yourself, in armor, template, and cheat programs quickly gets old. Want increased numbers in factions, fel or pvp? Drop your illegal programs. Compete honestly.
I didn't fail. I was refering to the ability to heal/res and cast on active faction members in tram. You fail I say!
I care if someone has umpteen billion points, because it raises the minimum points needed to maintain rank for faction gear... I guess I didn't make it clear for you.
In the future I'll try to limit it to 2 syllable words and I'll underline/capitalize the focal points so you can understand.
I do compete honestly. A few speedhackers aren't tough to deal with, it's the guilds of speedhackers.
Instead of organizing and fighting it sounds like you just run off to tram to do a Lady M.
Psst.... insulting the person doesn't win you the argument.. just makes you look rather like a jacka**.
