Should GM spell books have a SDI bonus? Especially in light of the new Undead slayer and invasion books.

I am courious why people think that GM spell books shouldn't have any SDI? GM spell books currently have NO advantage over non exceptional spell books. GM crafted weapons have 35-40% DI. It's like saying crafted weapons should have 0 DI (unless it's a runic roll)

Standard Crafted(non) slayer books are a waste unless your two days new and in need of lrc.

Scrappers are a waste unless you have enough ingredients to waste getting one with a slayer.

Even the undead slayer is sub par with the trinket books out there from the October event.

So SO:sad4: Someone cant think past their cleverness.

You are missing a "35% SDI for exceptional plus 5% for Armslore option", so I selected the max, mwuahahaha

i don't really care, there is already an SDI cap for PvP. as far as I'm concerned Trammel can have whatever it wants.

It would be nice to have GM made, exceptional spellbooks have a bit of an edge. Besides a well made Scrappers, what more do we poor scribes have?

    I voted 10sdi.
Seems pretty middle of the road.

Scribes still have a growning market for Repond and Demon and other supers.
Scrappers can come out real nice.
SDI is not needed but it wouldn't hurt anything.

as someone with a scribe i think all stats could be boosted with exceptional made books.
you only get a 5% chance to make one exceptional at gm with no tali.

but you already do get SDI bonus with spell books, up to 9%.
scribe crafted spell books can have up to 3
    LRC 15
    LMC 6
    MR 1
    FC 1
    FCR 2
    SDI 9

    EVAL +12
    MED +12
    Magic Resist +12
    Magery +12

    Mana Increase +6
    Int Increase +6

    and slayers.

The spellbook properties are fine the way they are. I am just happy with getting my name on the book. Just burn through some more scrolls if you don't have the combination you want. I have some very nice spellbooks that don't carry my makers mark with SDI. If you want more SDI on a book, buy a regular Scrapper's for dirt cheap, fill it with scrolls, and make it your defalut book. If you hurry, you can dye it from that vibrant red/blue with a slime (the bronze looks classy). Alternatively you could get a book from a general from the town invasions. I have a few books that are MR 3, 30 SDI, and 10 LRC.

Right next to my Runic Tinker's Tools... If they need to change anything, as far as how magic propertiesare determined, it is how magic jewelry is made. It takes alot more resources to make crappy rings than it does spellbooks (20 gems, 10 mining gems & 5 Ingots vs 10 Scrolls).

The only thing i dont like about tinker is that you cant make magic cleavers, jewelry i think is fine(maybe half the number from 10-5) but even if not i dont really mind.

Back on subject, i see no reason why my eq repond slayer should have no other bonus than my name on it, id even be happy with 5%sdi but i do think you should be able to hit 30% and if you hit another mod...say a slayer this can only be 15%, 2mods 10% etc. and thats a cap not guaranteed.
