with the current loot, the only suits worth crafting are lrc's for new players. You'll never be able to craft anything that compares to loot, ever. That being said, give crafters something new . Everyone has tons of jewelry now (see previous comment on loot) so we need something to store it in. Tinker/Carp crafted jewelry box. The box will show the properties of each piece and can be retrieved with the click of a button. Everyone has tons of weapons now (see previous comment on loot) so we need something to store it in. Carp/Arms Lore crafted weapons cabinet. (see previous description) Everyone has tons of armor pieces now (see...you get the idea), so we need something to store it in. Carp/Tailor armor wardrobe. Stewards/Mannequins are nice but Stewards have that awful 125 item count they steal and Mannequins aren't as heavily circulated.

Give us a bone please ! If we can't have things like this then we can always beat our selves over the head with the bone until we forget how to craft anything.

A good conclusion but a questionable premise, as I see it.
Good conclusion - I agree it would be nice to be able to store more of that new loot before our houses fill up and we have to unravel most of it. I've got 3500 relic frags right now from unraveling stuff I would rather have kept for future use.
Questionable premise - I would question whether crafting is pretty much dead except for making low-end LRC suits. I think there's still a need for imbuing, reforging and enhancing, because it's very hard to find that perfect balance on items you loot, when only a small fraction even of legendaries are of any real practical value because of the attribute mix.

For me, crafting died a long time ago -- when it turned into something that required using spreadsheets and a calculator in order to be at all profitable. :(

while the new loot has made overall crafting of suits easier, i wouldnt say crafting is "dead" even before global loot, i made all my suits from a combination of runic reforged, reforged/imbued, with one keystone artifact piece. i do the same now, the keystone piece is just better.

yes, you can now make a suit entirely out of loot, which i think is a good thing. not every player has crafters and its nice for loot to be useable. while loot has given other options, and i do think runics need some sort of bump crafting is just as alive as its ever been. If anything, the arties have allowed casual crafters to yield an overall very high quality suit with the addition of 1 or 2 loot pieces they either get themselves, or can now buy for very affordable prices.

The majority of my main suits are crafted, reforged, imbued. What I think you're getting at is that crafting as a profession to make gold is dead. That I mostly agree with since many people in the game already have their own crafter and usually have specific needs as far as resists & mods on pieces. I've had some 100% elemental reforged weapons with nothing other than DI on my vendor for over a month and none have sold.

I think the next evolution of crafting is to make higher end suits and selling them, people are already doing this. Max luck suits, max stam suits, etc. The days of banging out GM plate and selling it are long over.

Yup the loot is to good. More are getting used to even wearing armor with negs. Burned 10 charges on a val hammer. 10 items outcome was trash barrel turn in points.

There needs to be crafting only properties that are not some reforging mystery. Helps if finnished end item from crafting doesn't include spending $10 at the origin store. Astonds me how they don't see having to buy that hammer doesn't create an imbalance in the game. Sorry, forgot the greedy ******* PTW factor.

Revamp the frigging BoD reward list already. Powder/goylpicks from the smith and CBD from the tailor are the keepers. As stated above about high end runics - USELESS. Anything besides the keepers are just good for turn in points. Easiest update that could be done on their part to make most players happy. Revamped rewards and backpack drops that are ingame swag that are nearly a decade old now. Simply adding Starter Marty to the paragon drops that a player can finnish out to their need. Add a studded tunic with 200 luck on it to be imbued / enhanced finnish (not that I support $10 cost to have fun) is not a game changer. The AoF is a great drop "nudge nudge". A crook called the "Beast Collector" with a random 20 skill in the tamer three. Even jewel drops that have 20 of some random crafter skills wont imbalance the PVP world.

OK done writing. I'm just convincing myself I have better things to do then play UO. That leads to the last few monthly UO dues fees having better use in the other entertaining things I can do.

I still use my woodland armour parts but am slowly replacing parts here and there with loot items. Reforge imbue and enhance can still give you a great suite. jewlery on the other hand you can get some really sweet pieces compared to crafting them.

It's very complicated to be a crafter now. I can stock some standard armor suit, but many have special wishes but if I try to please them all, my profit is eaten up of vendor fee before the right guy find my vendor.
Lower vendor fee and I believe we will see more stocked vendors, at least on Siege

I've said the same thing, vendor fees kill you if you're selling low to medium end stuff waiting for the right buyer.

I agree as well. I would love to stock more vendors. But not at what it will cost me to do so, waiting on someone to buy it. Especially higher end items. I have a pretty fair amount of stuff that will sell for 10-50 million gold, but at the current vendor fees, it is not worth it to put them out for sale. I am on a "less populated" shard, and it would be nice for EVERYONE to have some nicer items on vendors to purchase! As opposed to shouting out in general chat hoping that the person who has what someone needs is online.

This is why that's a bad idea. The whole crafting profession has gotten to be so bogged down in subsystems and calculations and bulky, that it just isn't worth the effort for the average player to fool with.
Please Please Please devs don't add more crap to crafting, unless it's items and not methods.

I think jewelry boxs/weapon chests would make good vet rewards.
I believe Kyronix said they would be looking into giving crafters some love this year, maybe as part of the new expansion.
More control over reforging and higher runic budgets/crafter only properties would be nice.

Crafters are dead?? Really? Mine are making me 10's of millions of gold each week? In addition my crafters are constantly busy making and modifying weapons and armors for my characters and friends characters. My crafters have saved me from having to spend 100's of millions of gold for over priced armors and weapons over the years. Personally I can't imagine playing and not having crafters.

Not everyone in the game can just trot down to the deepest dungeons and brings back Legendary artifacts to build their suits. Nor do a lot of players have the insane amounts of gold people are asking for those artifacts. I disagree completely that crafters are dead!

Requiring spreadsheets and a calculator? Not sure how you craft but I've never had to use a spreadsheet or calculator.

Haha :) It would seem like it's an overpowered crafting skill, but they could make it so there are downsides to doing it.

Crafting by itself does not require a spreadsheet. Full suit design/planning on the other hand.....wouldn't try it without my sheets. Trying to reach 75 in all res. (I do use the refinements, a lot actually), make it to 55 lmc, get all your hci, di, etc. I could not suit build without sheets. There are just so many properties to keep track of.

Likely in the minority but I like how complex building a full suit from the ground up is. Lots of different ways to go with so many choices.

That's the main problem with crafting, it's to complicated, to time eating and gives you headache.

When I get home from work, tired in my head, I just want to relax and play. I never found out how to use refinements and do not even try to make this upper suits. I wish them to make it so a suit made of colored resources and made of a 120 tailor, smith or carpenter crafter with armslore always have max resist.

120 crafter with 100 armslore = 14% in each resist = 84 in each resist on a suit, easy to mix with looted items, however you still only can use the 70, 75 for elves, unless you use Refinement
120 crafter without armslore = 12% in each resist = 72 in each resist on a suit, harder to mix but still good enough to crafting of suits without looted items
100 crafter with 100 armslore = 12% in each resist = 72 in each resist on a suit
100 crafter without armslore = 10% in each resist = 60 in each resist on a suit

That would make it much easier to sell single armor pieces to mix with looted items, it would also make it easier to craft whole suits, when you don't need to get this stupid resist right.
I believe, if PvP'er and PvM'er can find the armor pieces they need for a full suit, they will be to lazy to make them self and PvP'ers really don't want to craft and on Siege, the loot they get from players will be useful as it will be much easier to put a new suit together from it, that fit their template.

I do not disagree. It is way complicated. I just happen to enjoy the madness.

I love it when an off shard pvpr is looking for a certain piece to finish a suit. They tend to pay well.

    This is how I craft:
    #1 once a week, get yourself a 3 x 100 barbed runic kits
#2 make 10 of each of the following: Neck, Arms, Tunic, Legs, Gloves (head is usually taken by an arty)
#3 dispose of any armor that has less than 5 Physical Resistance and 7 Fire resistance (if the piece has 4 physical and 9 fire, cut it up)
#4 reforge, just bang them all out don't even look at each piece as you're making it
    #5 save everything

Eventually you'll end up with a room like this:

Each row of chests are specific combinations of reforging names, and each chest is a different part of the body. Now any time you need a suit you just run to that room mix match till you get that stats you want. I've built many amazing suits using this method.

Since the new loot patch came out, I haven't used 1 barbed kit.

(BTW if my castle ever falls you now all know which room to hit first.)

I am hoping for more control and higher limits (to "keep up" with the loot revamp) but, I am not holding my breath! *crosses fingers though*
