my 0 skill warriors have been getting items that say their skill is too low to unravel, but my 120 gargoyle turns some of those into residue anyway..

this means somewhere in the code there is a gap that is turning items that "should" make essence into residue..

I'm not sure where you're going with this, but as a gargoyle, the brackets for unraveling are reduced. Seems to me that the system is working fine.

i just made post about same thing with ninja casting animal form. it says 0 skill needed but when I try to cast it says i need 20 skill. so apparently this his effected 3 or more skills (bushido too i believe).

maybe everything that use to require 0 skill has been bumped up to 20?

no its not, before when i went hunting i would collect pretty much every item, then id unravel it getting the residue and putting the better items in a box.. then when it filled up my gargoyle would get the essence.. he would only get essence or relics.

now on my trip to the city forge with my gargoyle, he gets residue.

ps, your reduced brackets should be working the other way, my gargoyle would be getting essence from items that my warriors turn into residue..

You made a false assumption early on in your logic. Rethink your logic and maybe you will find it. hint: start with what you assumed to be true in the very beginning.
