I have read varying opinions about whether or not slayer mods may work when on books other than Magery.

I am referring to Mysticism, Necromancy, Spellweaving books.

If they are tagged a slayer, would the respective spells do more damage like it is for magery spellbooks ?

If the slayer mods do work also for non magery spellbooks, out of curiosity, how hard it is to craft a slayer book of these other spellcasting skills ?

Also, slayer talismans only work for Melee warriors ? Not for ranged skills ? What about archery ?

    Thanks.

SDI works on Mystic spells, i'm guessing Slayer does too.
Style of book would make no difference.

Talismans work for fighters of any type, not spells.

Question, if your experience tells you that the slayers on Mysticism spellbooks work, did you notice them working for one's own summons ?

That is, if you summon a Raising Colossus with a slayer Mysticism spellbook, does your Colossus do MORE damage as compared to summong it off a book without a slayer mod ?

And does this apply to any and all summons ?

That is, Magery slayer books also work that summons like Energy Vortex, Summon Daemons etc. do MORE damage on the targets that the spellbook has as slayer ?

@Popps - Slayer books nor Eval/SDI have any any affect on any summons - mystic, necro, spellweaver, magic. What does increase summons' effectiveness is the SW spell Arcane Empowerment. Before casting EV's or Rising Colossus, I try to cast AE just before. Casting Empower before WoD also increases a 435 WoD to a 545 damage spell for me !

@OP - And yes, an equipped Spider slayer mage book does significantly more damage on Narvey when I throw the "boulder" spell on her!

    Thanks.

I find it unfortunate that Slayer and Spell Damage Increase mods do not affect summons.
From a logical point of view since the summons where casted by the Mage and are a result of Magery just like any other spell, I would find it logic that Summon were indeed also affected by these modifiers.

Anyways, how exactly does Spellweaving Arcane Empowerment affect Summons ?

In their duration ? In the amount of damage that Summons to to target ?

What is your experience about using AE before summons ?

If whatever I am hunting has a slayer type, then I equip that book until the end, then I switch to an Invasion General Book (MR+3, SDI 30%, LRC 10%) and spam Word of Death .

My stealth mage-weaver never used Eval so I relied on Summons alone for offense. I am glad that Mysticism nor spellweaving nor necro nor magery summons are impacted by the lack of Eval. Pre Mysticism, I could cast 2 EV's, 1 Nature's Fury, and 3 Animated corpses for offense. Now I only cast RC - does nearly as much damage as all the above combined:)
