how do you dye clothes or bolts with slimes??
also backpack and bags?
They changed it and you cannot dye bolts or cloth with the slimes
Aye, the NA/Euro version of the event is quite lame in comparison to the Japanese event. I am glad we got something, but wish we'd been favoured as well as the Asian servers.
I think you may be able to dye clothing or cloth labeled as 'Green Cloth'. Aren't things made of this able to be dyed with Tokuno Dyes? Certainly one of our boardies more knowledgeable can help me out here!
I am enjoying the Slimes, even with the inability to dye cloth. I've had tons of fun shopping for all manner of deco items and extra accessories to dye, and in the process found a few new shops that I will be sure to revisit.
The cloth that can be dyed is "green" tagged, however because the colors are easily matched to a regular dye tub they would be better used to hold in reserve in case we ever get a return of the slimes event with more unusual colors.
I've found lots of stuff to dye, and am still not finished with all my crafting/dying that I want to do. For example:
The counter tops for the display plants at this (very much unfinished) plant vendor house are made from the center pieces of tan-dyed hardwood tables. You can see on the east edge where I had to use small tables because of the new add-on placing bug (yuck). I still need to do a bunch of elven loveseats to use in the runelibrary for this shop as well as some other things I want to do. I am debating doing the floor out of the center parts of dyed pentagrams, which would be another huge batch of deeds to dye.
A short list of some carp menu items you can slime dye that are not add-ons and cannot be furniture dyed:
canvas with easel
shoji and bamboo screens
white and red hanging lanterns
Other things you might not think of:
virtue dungeon items like the luck statue (looks very good in the green) and map of the known world
rose of trinny & tapestry of sosaria
regular lamp posts are stealables too
candleabra of souls are artifacts and look great in "silver"
Sadly tinkered items for the most part do not dye, even the wooden items made from special woods. Oh well, it's better for my storage this way, I suppose.
I'll take more pictures later.
What is "Green" cloth?
For a few publishes after colored leather was introduced (or after the AoS launch; I forget), if you had barbed leather selected as a material type when making cloth items (whether you had the leather or not), the clothing/cloth that came out would be labeled "green" (such as "a green shirt" or "a green oil cloth"). It's technically barbed leather clothing (no properties tho).
It was just after AoS launch. I had a tailor vendor I ran with a bunch of BOD reward cloth clothing that I accidentally made all green. No one ever bought any of it so I threw it all in a trunk, and now i have a chest full of "green" clothing. Go figure.
Lucky.. I didn't find out about it until it was gone and had to make due with what I could find that people threw on the ground. :\
I don't care one bit about the slime event, but that's an interesting layout you have, Sarsmi. *considers borrowing and personalizing*
