Intended? That is not a real nice spawn to do in the first place ... but to have greater dragons as a part of 4th level ... dragons that are tougher than Riktor. Reminicent of dread spiders and the Mephistis spawn ...

  2. I giggled so much when I saw this. Sorry, it's true.

    GOOD.
They need to pick a 4th level critter from every spawn type, and add a 'greater' version.

Heck, every critter in game should have a (small) chance at being a greater. (Paragonish)

Yah, sometimes you might run into something you -cannot- kill alone, even though you killed 800 of them the day before.

Can we try to not make assumptions about people, here? Fact is, I have a hard time killing a regular dragon alone, without some fancy footwork, so that snide comment was unnecessary.

  7. These dragons don't spawn dynamically. If they are appearing as part of the champ spawn, they were meant to be part of the champ spawn.

Every spawn point that spawns a greater dragon will always spawn a greater dragon. Every spawn point that spawns a normal dragon will always spawn a normal dragon (or paragon)

I'm not sure the spawn always worked like this when it was on TC, but it appears to work this way now.

It was not a snide comment actually, just a comment about spawns in general.

Some of us feel that champ spawns (and some spawns in general) are far too weak. When a group of 4 can blast through all but oaks with little to no effort, the system might be a little weak. Heck, I'm not sure about now, with the champ changes), but most spawns could be done by 1 or two people.

And yes, this means the super dragons will be too much for some, possibly many people. I personally have no issue with this, hunt with a friend (or 4), or book it when a dragon half lifes you, and move onto easier prey.

As far as I'm concerned, any moderate difficulty spawn, and higher, should only be 'safe' if you're there with friends. (Note the plural) It seems many mobs have turned into nothing but punching bags.

ALTHOUGH, increased diffculty should be taken into account with insurance, it can cost pretty penny, and while getting waylaid by a mob on roids could be considered challanging, being charged 10+k for experiance seems a little.. frustrating over and above what's needed.

I'd say jack ALL mobs to be able to spawn 'supers', then drop insurance costs to PVP (300) or even less.

Death shouldn't be avoid cause it emptys your bank, if should be avoided because you just don't want to die!

Ha. Slight exaggeration there? =) The buffed dragons can be taken down by 2 warriors with a little bit of running and not too much trouble. Rikktor is rock solid these days since the buff of champ bosses.

I hear you tho. Not done a reptile spawn yet, but i'm not looking forward to it now.

  10. I'm sorry, but you obviously have not done a champ lately. Aside from Ratman and maybe Arachnid, all the other spawns require more than a handful of people to do now, if not more. Semidar, Rikkitor, Neira, and Lord Oaks are extremely difficult to kill now. Maybe if you have a good deal of time, and have a well trained team, you can do these champs with 5 or 6 people, but that is a very rare instance. I believe that is why a lot of people have been illegally guard whacking the champions lately because it is easier to do that than to actually attempt to kill them now.

I have not seen a champ of the 4 mentioned just now done with any efficiency with less than 10 people. Of course, I'm including the sentence after that cause you occasionally run into those "elitists" who will flame that observation saying they can still do it with 5 or 6 people still, so I included that in there just in case.

The champs are the only thing changed, and they require time more than anything, save for a few. (IE Rictors a wrecking ball now)

The only reason you need more people is if you want to get it done before fall asleep, otherwise, spawns are -still- walks in the park.

  12. Yeah, if you have time to grind away at it, it probably can be done, but if you play on a shard that actually has people who raid, that does not work. From my understanding though, that's only a handful of shards anyway, so I guess there's no arguement after all.
