    And make a guy here.

    I'm think the following:

    (Gargoyle)
    Mysticism
    Imbuing
    Magery
    Eval
    Med
    Spellweaving
    Focus

I would drop Focus in 10 years when I get my 120 scrolls for the other skills.

Is that good/bad on Siege? Is there a better template that's good to start with?

I'm thinking I can get some income from Imbuing and be able to hunt and PvP decently with the rest.

Maybe just drop Eval and Focus for Music and Discord to add some versatility.

    Or Fishing. Or Tailoring. :D

Not a bad goal to start with, though you'll end up like the rest of us and have 1000 soul stones...

I refuse to pay IRL money for thing. I have one Soulstone and one of those Ethy horses frommy pre-orders, and I feel dirty using it.

Unless of course there is a market for Soulstones here? ^^

After some discussion, I think I will settle on...

    100 Mystic
    100 Imbue
    100 Magery
    100 Eval
    100 Med
    100 Tailor
    100 Resist

I should be able to craft and imbue my own leather suits with some basic mods like LRC etc... on a regular basis, as well as sell them hopefully.

  4. Welcome to Siege (when you get here)

Don't use any of your starting points on magery, you can get an lcr suit and spellbook when you get here and you're good to go. Almost anyone will give you a suit, or icq 9-626-593 (Elaine) and I'll help you get whatever you need to start. Use your starting points for any skills you're going to keep that are a pain in the arse/boring to raise.

I would ditch resist and go with SW.
Gift of life, heals and ethereal voyage all without regs so usable after you die and are naked make farming so much simpler, Oh you also have the summon fey/fiend too.

As for paying RL money for pixels I am right there with you...BUT there are some brokers who will sell you tokens for gold. I think the going rate is 2 mill a ss token.

Pm me or yell in global chat if you need anything and join NEW.

Ya, SW was my other option. I was just thinking that Resist will help with the PvP aspect.

Just one note to add to the mix...

If going Tailoring...you may want to consider arms lore. Having GM lore gives you more resists when you craft armor.

  9. eekamouse

    eekamouse Guest

Ya I was just thinking about that. Maybe, I can drop Eval for Arms Lore.

    100 Mysti
    100 Imbue
    100 Magery
    100 SW
    100 Med
    100 Tailoring
    100 Arms Lore

and youll need blacksmithing to make the items youll need to raise imbuing ... how many soulstones you got ?
    :)

the training guide says you need at least gm smith to make the 200 to 300 jingasa . a samauri item that naturally comes with mage armor . you need that as a "property" or youll have to burn runic kits or something .

i spose you could always buy the pieces ...

    searching ...

    here

    http://vboards.stratics.com/showthread.php?t=187112

i just cashed in 3 veteran rewards for soulstones and am training Unclesham by the guide now . if i can be of assistance just ask.

its not a simple task on siege . but the rewards here are higher . people die and lose stuff here . a good imbuer is a busy man .

Mouse... I have a place you can stay. I even have ties to NEW guild. *hides from Shal* How was I to know every thing would go nuts the minute I volunteered? Yesterday was the first day I have logged in for several days.

My place has a soul forge. I believe I remember NEW guild house does as well.

i should also point out , this is where our Rate Over Time system really shines . skills over 70 almost always give you a gain on the first try . this saves you tones of resources compared to prodo shards where you can bang out backpacks full of items to get a gain.

rotate your skills every couple of minutes and the delays arent so bad.

As far as Imbuing goes, I figured I can just unravel to 100. You actually gain pretty good into the 80s just unravelling. Once RoT kicks in, I can do like people are saying and just get the guarantees.

I see moving Imbuing over 100 as pointless as well, because most people will just want armor with exceptional resists and a couple of cheap but effective mods... /shrug

One of the issues will be getting to RoT level with imbuing. I unravelled items to about 44 but then the gains were too slow.

However, since then I have just imbued an exceptional dagger. I have taken imbuing all the way up to 110 on the same dagger.

Imbuing gains on Siege (maybe every shard) are a joke.. as said previously.. imbue a dagger. That's all it takes to get to 115+ (can't say beyond that I'm still working it now and then.)

Your gonna make your money from the pvpers buying weapons and armor with maxed out resists and mods. It will be wise to raise your imbuing to 120.

Sir, I don't understand your build one bit. You want to be a crafter, but be able to defend youself? Is that the reasoning behind your build?

Sadly, you'll be torn apart if you're not fully devoted to a pvp template. Unless, of course you have hiding/stealth. Then you just hide/stealth everywhere. That's beside the point.

Maybe you're going for a build that can farm its own resources? Either way, that template will have a hell of a time getting some of the new essences or killing tougher monsters to get their hides.

You should either go all out crafter. Or go all out PvM'er. You'll make more money by choosing one way. As they say "a jack of all trades is a master of none" :)

  24. eekamouse

    eekamouse Guest

Well. I figure I don't really have to farm the high end mobs myself either way.

I should be able to craft some good suits for myself and to sell, out of basic materials.

I'm sure I can find out of the way places to farm leather and residue, and then group for the other things.

I say, drop the arms lore and invest the skills in something else. If you're just looking to imbue basic suits for yourself then the 5% bonus from arms lore isn't worth the 100 skill points you'd have to invest.

    try a template like this

    120 imbue
    120 tailor
    100/110 animal tame
100/110 animal lore \ Use +10 skills ring to get desired level
    100/110 vet /
    100 mage
    80 med

Be able to take on the tougher spawns, make a lil extra mula and more defense against a pker if you were confronted with the situation. A

For a mix of Pvm and crafting, Freelsy's template is excellent. Tamers are very good on siege. Of course, they are mostly easy meat to a pvp'er, but excellent for solo pvm - and yes, there's plenty of out-of-the-way places to farm. Just watch out for Krystal!

As for crafting, you'll definitely want the arms lore (you can drop the med for arms lore and make it up with mana regen on your suit - a tamer doesn't really cast much). The extra resists make a huge difference when you are making suits as it decreases the number of slots used up by imbuing and lets you put more mods on the suit.

There's not a huge market for imbued suits here, unless you make a name for yourself doing that and start getting the pvp'ers to request suits. This can be done but will clearly require lots of relic frags and other ingredients.

However, definitely start accumulating gold and using it to buy soulstones. You will want them sooner or later.

Reason I said to drop arms lore was his intent to make one or two mod "basic" suits for himself, or too sell to some reandom person. Now if he's going to go all out and try to make uber l337 gear, then yes... Keep the arms lore for sure.

it's nothing special asty. It's. Just a 6 piece suit but all of the pieces have 10 in every resist I think. It's just unique.

You wouldn't want it to fight in, but it's special in a way. I'm proud to own it, and to have made it, even if it's only for deco on a vendor, and it's only possible on Siege with the 8% armslore bonus.

Well isn't Arms Lore a waste if I can just Imbue the resists up?

The exceptional bonus will still eat into the intensity correct?

Seems like I will use more mats, but I free up 100 skill points if my logic is right.

Then the question is to go with Eval or Resist...

base resists, material bonus, arms lore bonus and exceptional bonus do not go against total imbuing properties.

So you want these as high as possible without having to imbue them.

If you need to raise a resist on a specific piece though, any of the above bonuses (except base resist of 2 or 3 or whatever) will be overwritten.

Optimally when I make a suit, I try and get pieces where most of the bonuses (except material bonus) end up in just two or three resists. Then after I do my imbuing I'll enhance the piece so if I do imbue a resists the material bonus sits on top.

This is VERY expensive though as failure is often an option...

  38. eekamouse

Hmm I guess it's just a question of if I think the Arms Lore is really worth it.

Seeing as how it's 7 points randomly distributed anyway, it seems almost like it's not worth it. Yes for SUPER high end tweak pieces, it is.

But this is Siege, no? So it seems to me people are going to be losing pieces left and right anway.

And when you are making armor, you would want to craft up a few pieces and actually want some with 2 high resists, and the rest really low, then imbue attributes, and round up the lowest resists with imbuing when you are done.

the goal of having two or three resits be high from arms lore and so forth is so you don't have to take up a property with imbuing.

So lets say you ended up with a piece that had high energy/poison and cold from the random arms lore/exceptional bonus. and it was like:

    4 Physical
    6 Fire
    11 Cold
    9 Poison
    12 Energy

You'd then imbue physical and fire with max intensity making them 17 and 19 respectively.

This gives you a piece of armor with 68 resists and three more slots to imbue properties. Then you might take up one slot with LRC, another slot with MR and finally LMC or INT increase.

If you are crazy like me...then you enhance this with barbed or horned depending on your needs to eek out additional resists...

I want you to build your character in whatever way works best for you, that is the goal.

If you are looking to just add some properties and make low end lrc or stamina suits for newish players then not having arms lore would work well.

However, if you really want to cater to the pvp crazies, every little resist helps and you'll find having arms lore gives you the edge needed to make the pieces people want.

Example of the suit I made for my tamer (on production so the resists would be a bit better here, 5% arms lore vs 8% arms lore).

Gorget - Initially made from plain leather then enhanced with barbed leather after being imbued:

    19 Physical
    18 Fire
    11 Cold
    11 Poison
    10 Energy
    20 LRC
    2 MR
    8 Mana Increase

Leggings - Initially made from plain leather then enhanced with barbed leather after being imbued:

    19 Physical
    20 Fire
    10 Cold
    11 Poison
    13 Energy
    20 LRC
    2 MR
    7 LMC

Arms - Initially made from plain leather then enhanced with barbed leather after being imbued:

    19 Physical
    20 Fire
    12 Cold
    10 Poison
    10 Energy
    20 LRC
    2 MR
    7 LMC

Gloves - Initially made from plain leather then enhanced with barbed leather after being imbued:

    19 Physical
    9 Fire
    10 Cold
    12 Poison
    10 Energy
    20 LRC
    2 MR
    6 LMC
    8 Mana Increase

    Chest - Non-faction RBC
Head - Hat of the Magi

    Shield: Made with Valorite

    4 Physical
    3 Cold
    3 Poison
    3 Energy
    Spell Channeling No Penalty
    15 RPD
    15 DCI

I will not bore everyone with what the other pieces were, just the pieces that effect resists.

The total ends up being all 70's even after casting the protection spell.

So this is just one example of what I try and do...

Mind you I broke 15 pieces while enhancing throughout the 4 imbued pieces.

  41. eekamouse

    eekamouse Guest

    Thanks.... but!! :)

Couldn't that piece also look like...

    4 Physical
    5 Fire
    10 Cold
    6 Poison
    10 Energy

    (without Arms Lore)

In that case, I can still Imbue Physical and Fire, and still be "pretty" close. I guess I will need stone off Arms Lore on my prodo crafter and see how it works out :)

Yes, this is definitely possible. The problem being....it is rather difficult to make the base piece have the resists where you want them...so the more resists you have to work with the easier it is to get what you are looking for.

Sometimes I make over 200 base pieces to get the one I need.

And please please please don't take my comments as criticism...

I am just sharing my experiences. You should do what you want with your character and what works for you!

Not at all. I very much appreciate the discussion. I'm just thinking (typing) out loud.

I don't currently. But I have some ICQ's in to NEW.

    ....

Also not to hog everyone's time, but what could I take instead of Arms Lore. Let's say I decide it's not worth it.

I could take Resist, but it's likely that I get rolled anyway. My only offense is Mysticism and SW.

I could take Eval and up my offense potential, but for PvM, you really just need RC's and SW. Both are that good imo.

Is there some other "out of the box" skill I could take?
