I have been playing a vamp samurai for years now. I've always been a one character type of player, so this eventually grew a little stale. I decided it was time for a change.

    My old template was:

    120 swords/bush/parry
    100 tacts/anat
    70 chiv

I put two years and hundreds of millions of gold into this characters suit. I did not die often at all, so I just used soulstones to get back into vamp form when needed.

Here is the change I made:

    120 swords/bush/parry/tactics/ninjitsu
    75 chiv
    45 med

I changed up my suit to add a bit of casting, while losing nothing but some dex. I stayed above 150 stamina though for fast swings.

So far, I have found that with mirror images I am all but invulnerable to non-magic creatures. I have been practicing this new setup in moonglow, and honestly the creature with the least risk is the demon beserker. All I need is to keep a couple mirror images up at a time, and I might be hit once in 30 of his swings.

The other main reason I took up ninjitsu was for focus attack. This attack doubles all of the hit effects of your weapon for one swing. I know most of this forum is PvM only, but imagine being able to have a 100% chance to land a fireball on your opponent for only 6 mana. Also, for PvM, my current ornate axe has 96% stamina, 120% mana, 124% life, 30% ssi and 43% di when using weapon focus. This translates into:

If i damage my opponent an average of 120hp per hit, I will leech:

120 stamina, 96% of my hits
    0-58 mana, every hit
24-69 life, every hit (accounting for vamp form leech also)

The only problem so far I have had is with heavy hitting magical casters. Only being able to heal with confidence, close wounds, and leeches hurts when 2 of those can be interupted easily. This is why I just found a new great ubws leafblade to feint the magic casters.

This is an amazing template if you can pull off the equipment needed. Casting will be needed, primarly for healing reasons. You will still need max dci, lmc, resists, high mr, and hci if you are planning on using weapon focus.

I encourage anyone to try this out.

Any feedback on this template and or these ideas as a whole is welcome.

  2. While I have literally no experience with ninjitsu, your template does seem to have the right general idea, which is "Don't get hit."

I've decided that the sampire has to have 120 swords/parry/bushido 35 necromancy and 100 tactics to be functional, leaving a good 205 points to play with, however one would like. I decided that after I took my normal non vampire to a difficult spawn after making a simple macro change (I coupled confidence on my bandages, so I would cast confidence every time I applied a bandage) and didn't realize that I forgot my bandages until I was done with the spawn. So healing, spirit speak, chivalry or any other form of healing apart from bushido and leeches is completely optional in my opinion. With leeches, potions and bushido, you pretty much have an overkill in the healing department anyway.

Which brings us back to the reason for adding a skill like ninjitsu. "Don't get hit." Sure, there are a lot of ninja skills you'd never use (like animal form, for example), but the few you use just might be enough to justify a huge expense of skill points.

I still use anatomy for the extra damage output, having just converted my whammy to a sampire.

My question is, how is the ninja sampire template against things like Travesty (who, when copying your ninjitsu, won't gain any benifits she doesn't already use) or Dread Horn?

I remember a few ninja/samouri/archer templates a while back but I don't recall any melee templates with this combo.

Don't forget you have the deathstrike special as well.

As for forms you can use dog form and outrun almost anything.

This template sounds very interesting and looks like something I may look more into, since I have ninja on a template I'm not currently using.

As far as forms go... it really annoyed me to find out that i can't switch directly between vamp form and animal forms. I would absolutely love to be able to stay in vamp form and switch into a wolf whenever i wish, which would add great rp value.

Death strike is all but useless when you don't have hiding or stealth.

As far as going against the travesty... I don't know because it takes forever to solo. However one of the main reasons I built this was to combat chief paroxymous, and ideally the putrifier. Using feint and mirror images, I don't think the putrifier should be any problem. And as far as chief paroxymous goes... yeah that's nothing to worry about now.

I would imagine that dreadhorn might take a few more minutes to complete without anatomy, but also it should be safer because he can dish out some hard melee damage when he gets a hit in.

I don't see why it would be any different

I made a Focus-attack Samurai similar to this a year or two back now and posted about it here.

The problem I found was that until perfection had built up, I wasn't doing enough damage to bring in mana/life, even with over 100 mana and life leech on my ornate.

With enough money to build an amazing suit with DI etc, it clearly works though.

I think it would be amazing for PVP with just:

    ninja, tactics, healing, anatomy, resist, swords;

A weapon with close to 50 hit spell, hit lower defense and mana leech and then jsut focus attack every hit (with a few deathstrikes and poisoned darts/shuiriken)

  8. Deception, you mind listing the pieces of your suits and each pieces mods, and your total mods?

This is something i just may try out.

Well, sure I can do that.

I run in vamp form with magic reflect cast, for a base resist of -20/-15/10/10/10.

    Totem of the Void
    Quiver of Infinity
    Crimson Cintcure

    Spirit of the Totem
    Fey Leggings

The armor and artifacts add up to, with no jewelry:

    20 HCI
    25 DCI
    20 STR

*these are totals, including the bonus that str or dex gives

    My ring is 1/2, 13hci, 10dci, 19di.

I have found a bracelet, and am just trying to make some gold to buy it atm:

When I puchase the bracelet, my hci and dci will be capped out and I will have 2/5 casting with no shield or weapon.
