I had hoped to see candidates advertice here , telling what they will try to do if they win the election . We dont know much yet, but it would be good to hear whats the goals for different candidates! I have caracters that can vote in some cities but need to know who the candidates are and what they are interested in and for what city..

    Hello Mim

well i'm running for Moonglow ( ofc ehe ) well, trying to, since the system seems a big buggered, still. Moonglow can be a nice "hub" for both mercants and sailors ( floating sea market is just south of ) and well.....some "sea theemed" events should be nice to play with, like treasure hunting on islands "pirate dressed", boats battles and so on..well i have some ideas in mind but, as i said, we need a working system to get the chance to vote and/or be elected.

Thats good info Morgana. Thank you! Some people will run for content like RP or adventures, others for deals with the NPC guilds to get boosts for the pvpers I can imagine. Hopefully we get some of everything :).

Im starting to wonder if the voters have to have some loyalty points to the city or not. Or just need to have citizenship? I could open the menue on the stone already as a citizen without any points yesterday, I always assumed I had to do more than that to vote. If not, Ill use lots of chars for sure!

For voting, just citizenship seems to be enough - and indeed for endorsing someone who has applied to be a candidate, all you need is citizenship. To stand, of course, needs adored or higher status in the town. It seems from http://uo2.stratics.com/essays-and-guides/in-game-systems/britannia-loyalty-councils that you only get one vote per account in any given city though, so if you have several citizens of a town, you seem to be a bit worse represented.....

Regarding electioneering though - tricky! You don't actually have any idea who your electorate are, or which of the trade deals they might prefer, or precisely what your functions will be anyway (bar being able to give some titles to people, which can be done now within guilds and can be ignored by the recipients if they wish!) so it's a bit awkward. You do get to pay out a fair amount to get a city trade deal benefits though......

I want the chance to meet with and influence (although how much that influence will be remains to be seen!) the royal council, which should be feeding back into the EM events, and for pure RP would allow for some story developments between the towns. Therefore, my 'campaign' for the post in Britain boils down to wanting to represent and/or argue for some of the usually ignored playstyles - never seen any real involvement for thief characters in events and storylines, crafters usually get relegated to donating materials which seems a bit weak, and even as a non-PvPer I'd like to see more happen in Fel, if it can be organised to avoid being spoiled by idiocy. I'll probably still not visit Fel though, as a pure target with zero PvP ability I know I'm just some insurance money waiting to be collected :)

And regarding trade deals... the benefits were outlined in http://uo2.stratics.com/posts/39108 but which people might want most.... any ideas?
I'll kick off another thread to ask that one, would be interesting to see which might be most popular.
