So call me a loser if you want... but I finally soloed a champ spawn from start to finish! Yeah for me!!! I'm training up a new char to be a spawner and I think I hit the template on the head. Cause I'm no higher than 110 in anything (my arch reached GM during the spawn) and it still worked out. Took an hour and a half... but hopefully I can improve on that. Yes, it was rats, I know, easy, right. But I'm proud of me and that's all that matters.

Oh, I didn't have any protect so I only got 6 scrolls, and none were 120s... but I DIIIIIIID IT!

I certainly won't be calling you a loser! Excellent job, DToM! Any special pointers you wish to share? How much did you rely on special items like pots, enchanted apples, etc.?

I've tried solo'ing a few peerless before. Even got as far as getting Grizzle down to ~3,000 hit points (out of what I think is roughly 100,000 total). He then re-targeted on me (ignoring the giant dragon in between us), and it was a "close but no cigar" situation. Part of me was angry, the rest proud I had made it that far.

    Again, great job and congratulations!

    nice job.

most champs are soloable now with the right template. sammy's are great for rats. if you have a protector i'd reccomend spell weaving on him and have him essence of wind the first level and than bring the sammy in for second forward. that way u save your weapon durability from the slimes.

just keep at it. take your time on the upper levels as it can be certain death if you get to much on u and cant survive the mana dump.

as many healing methods you can fit in ur build, bandies, pots, confidence, counter attack, evasion, chiv and heal stones are key. invis pots and a box are helpful as well.

early mornings are a good time to spawn. try to do some of the t2a's rather than just popping despise.

Well, I don't know about pointers... but my char's template is swords, archery, tact, anat, heal, bush chiv. Basically he's an ABC with swords. I used pots (I always take them to fel) but only because I forgot to bring orange petals for the mages and snakes. Of course, I did have my trap box for those pesky paralize spells. But such is the life of someone without magic resist.

The hardest part about the rat spawn is actually getting to the boss. The coon doesn't chase you, so, being that I had archery, I very casually honored him, eo1, consecrate, divine fury, the lighting strike lightning strike lightning strike... you get the picture. Oh, well, I did keep myself up to date on strength and agility pots though. I just had my souly handy for when the coon surrounded me with his little groupies and whirlwinded them right to the ground, then back to the archery grind.

I'm pretty sure it would have gone a lot faster if I had 120 arch, but my guy, like I said, hit 100 skill during the fight, so obivously I was missing a lot.

Congrats. I encourage anyone and everyone to learn how to do champ spawns, but I do warn posting here that you were able to accomplish that will upset some of the pvp guilds. Any spawn solo'd is a good job none the less.

On your char, I think you'd do better dropping archer and put resist. Because if you can keep your mana up you should be pretty weel covered w/ your setup. You can resist the mana drains/vampires with 100 resist. If you were able to squeeze 115 or 120 I think it would be optimal that way in the event of a raid you are not completly screwed against any mage.

Looks like the power went out before the my comment posted. anyway Damn dude that is awesome! Congratulations, Achievements in this game are measured individually, so no one can take away your sense of accomplishment (kinda like the first time you killed a murderer, remember when you were able to take the head to the bank guards and get a bounty from it?).

  7. Back in the day this would have not been possible. Oh the fun we would have had to be able to solo a spawn. Also, you must be a bad-a$$!
