so, I forgot about that 'multi-tile add-on not allowed' nonsense on the southern edge and axed a stone table that had been there forever to see if the color would look good somewhere else before committing the stone for it

couldn't get the table back where it was.... (saw that coming, dintcha?) problem is, this is NOT the southern edge of the house... it's a castle, and it's the interior rooms, bottom floor, southern wall.... I've not tried it there previously cause, foolish me, I thought this issue was confined to the true southern and eastern walls.... so now I'm thinking that it probably holds true for any darn southern wall in the whole place, which I'm not gonna try cause it would feel like whippin' myself

(to clarify here, previously we could not place on the very first tile of the southern wall, we're all used to that... what we've now lost is the first two tiles along that wall)

which leads me to an idea for a solution.... single tile add-ons are not the problem (altho the problem was never made clear, or it went entirely over my head) so would it be possible to give us the ability to make our multi-tile deeds in sections? just think, no more wasting tons of stone to get that large guild table.... you could have a trough that your whole stable could drink from at once..... your tailor could be weaving incredible tapestries on an oversize loom...

don't take the regular deeds, just add the sections... whaddya think, folks? am I missing an obvious problem here? I wouldn't even mind if the cost in materials for the item was increased to be able to make just sections
    , that seems reasonable

  2. I've always thought that the stone tables should come in one tile "sections" for the purpose of designing tables. The idea of them coming in sections so that they are able to be placed in the southern corners just makes the argument that more important.

Great idea, DevilsOwn, and I think it would truely solve the problem! Now how to convince the developers of the need to have sections available?

what makes it even more frustrating is that you can run an east facing multi-tile add-on into that row of tiles, but not target that row to place the south facing items

Multi-tile addons are a royal pain, and making them in sections would ROCK, especially since it'd make stone counters and the like much easier! I've discovered now that rugs, which I swear used to place under anything, now won't place underneath other add-ons. Since rugs are usually the last things I place, I didn't find out till I finished some of my other deco and then had to remove the bed, the loom, etc to drop rugs under them! Thankfully the rug doesn't block placement of other add-ons once it's been dropped.

I've also been annoyed by the table issues. My usual response is just to drop something else in the corner as an end-cap, place the table as close as I can get it, and move on before it drives me nuts!
