First, I will say, I know bows dont drop anymore that have UBWS, but do say, katanas with UBWS work if your weapon skill is Archery?

Second, what kind of spellbook do you put spellweaving spells in? Where do you get them? Thanks in advance.

  2. I am not sure about the archery UBWS question, hopefully someone else will be able to answer that for you.

The Spellweaving scrolls go into a spellweaver spellbook. You get the quest from Heartwood and when you complete the quest you get the spellbook.

First I want to address the people who whose only reason to post is to flame people. :grrr:
As for the use best weapons skill. I copied this ffrom a web site that best explains this feature. "Some weapons have a property called: "Use Best Weapon Skill". What this means is it will take your highest melee skill score and substitute that for your weapon skill when using that weapon. Two examples: If I have 120 Fencing and 100 Swords, and pick up a Macing weapon with the use best weapon skill property, it will use my 120 Fencing as the weapon skill. If I have a swords weapon with the same property, it will also use the 120 Fencing skill." Apparently since archery is a ranged skill you can't use it with a "use best weapon" weapon.

As for spellweaving here is a link for more in depth information. http://www.uoguide.com/Spellweaving down the page are some other items you can click on to find out what quests to do to get a spell weaving spell book.
    Welcome back to the game.

Thank you gunner. Im glad my little rant on the other guy didnt deter you from posting. I will be looking into weaving soon, adding it to my tamer/bard mage template. So far this is what I got.

    115 taming
    120 music
    120 provoke
110 magery (w/ swords of prosperity yeah baby!)
    120 vet
    120 lore

that 705, but i am going to stop taming at 105 cause i got a talisman +5 and i can control anythign with 120 lore, 107 taming. Just pop on a ring with 15 taming if i need to tame. So thats +10 towards weaving. Plus I got a 15 discord ring, 10 music arms I think they are, some lore and vet bracers, that should give me another 30-45 depending on whats on which blah blah, lets just say I got 50-60 points to play with...

Is weaving worth it for 50-60 points? I read some of the spells, they seem really cool, especially the ones that res you ect. I am also making a stealth mage on my other account for when my tamer dies to get there to rez him lol.

I am not a specialist on spell weaving so I can't really help with that. However, have a look a the sacafice virture. If you follow this virture you can self rez.

No, much to my despair, UbWS doesnt count with archery.*sigh* man i wish it did.*squeezes eyes shut thinking happy thoughts to the devs*.
As for spellweaving, the book comes from a quest giver in heartwood, so-and-so the Arcanist. Mana intensive tho the spells are, many of them are great fun.
Nature's Fury is a nasty lil 1 slot summon that could be nice for a Cu rider.
Gift of renewal is very nice as it can give little jolts of healing to your pet.
Gift of life can mean the difference between vetting your pet in time, or training him back up after death.*shudder*
The spellcaster forums has a nice list of spells, their costs, and effects, really well done.

Until next time, Alnera the Original, also known as Gark
