[Mysticism] spell plague

    how useful do you find spell plague in pvp or pvm? it seems to do very little dmg, perhaps its better for interruption?

    how do people like nether cyclone, comparing it to either meteor swarm or hail storm?

    is the bombard push back effect still broken in pvp/pvm?

    i have been running around with myst for a couple weeks, but looking for clarification on some of these things..

    Spell plague is the bomb at 120/120 pvp. Best way to stack damage, you just need quick follow up spells to set the rest of the spell plague off.

    so how does it work, does every spell cast on the target cost an explosion?

    how much dmg is the explosion(s)?

    how long does it last (8s?)

    Here is the textbook description

    It does chaos damage which hits a random armor resist for each explosion and curse, evil omen, and or corpse skin only amps the damage.

    You will have to experiment with your combos and get your timing down.

    This still is a learning curve for me on a new template, macros. All I can say is find the best PvP mage you can and get some tips and practice,practice,practice.

    I consider it a great equalizer to all the evasion,EP pot chugging hack off screen crowd and it is only good in a well timed combo.

    Just like Proofing your suit against necro mages with additional fire/poison resists the same concept can be applied vs a Mystic Mage.

    Cover all your resists and make sure you have 70's down the board. If you have a hole in your suit you will be sorry.

    Note that a Mystic Sammy or even a Archer/Mystic can be if not more deadly. As to regard on the archer template it would be ran similar to the ML WoD Archer.

    The thing is the spell plague is a bit random as to when the consecutive explosions go off. The first can set the others off, the second one can set the third off, but none are a set rule and would need damage by other means to set them off. Hope that made sense.

    Spell Plague is very nice in PvP, However it requires competence on the mages part, Unlike the Cast and Forget Spells of Necromancy (Strange and Blood Oath)

    Little information for those that do not read :)lol:)

    Lasts 8 Seconds, can proc on Any damage, can proc 3 Times before dissipating. The Damage is Chaos Damage (Random Damage).

    Over-all Myst is extremely devastating *IF* The mage has a Clue how to play his template (Which is generally true of any Template)

    The only reason people are so surprised by its power (And this has been stated before) Is because it provides mages with competitive burst damage (Which is how dexxers generally function).

    omg omg omg i have been getting more and more into myst. at first it looks like there's only 2-3 cool things about it, which explains why so many ignore it or think "you only get it for RC"

    im a newb at pvp but last night i came up w/this:

    curse, (maybe add poison here), spell plague, ex, fs, fb (or can be eagle strike if your focus is higher than eval)

    pretty much I have a 50/50 chance of dying at the FS, but if for some reason dmg was low the fb and last sp-explode does it. INSANE

    but with my connection and video lag ill never get anyone to let me cast 8 seconds worth of spells on them, lmao.

    also im a fumble fingers with too many keys, which is why i never used pots. but omg healing stone is the shizzle!

    i made this macro last night in ec:

    unequip shield, delay .9, healing stone, delay .9, equip shield

    voila, i can get rid of my greater cure pots, as a side bonus i can get a small heal all off one keypress for the type-tastically challenged. also have a spell triggered healing stone as backup. ill keep gheal and apples for occasions when i cant get cleansing winds off, or i get damaged a 2nd time and the timer for healing stone hasnt reset to give me a full heal yet.

    also protect+stone form is the shizz at any casting spawn. im pretty much immune to anything but damage, which is nice.

    downside is this is on my tamer so i cant have magic resist. have too many skills. im pretty excited by this, might just stone it all off and make a new mage/myst/weaving gargie.

    There are many spells in the mysticism that are as useful as spell plague.

    You guys just gotta figure them out and the timing to use them to make it effectively in support.

    Mysticism spells are kind of supportive spells for your team or your own mage/necro/warrior combo.

    Mysticism if used correctly did really give a high boost for both offense and defense.

    Mystic is entirely overpowered and no one is utilizing it to its full potential. I have a character in development now and I'm sure that once I start using this build there will be a few people crying about it.

    I wonder how long I will get to ride this gimp train before it is adjusted.

    when used against a dexter with no resisting spells:

    precast Explode: Spell plague: Eblot and if they are still alive spell trigger with Bombard to send them to their maker.

    But its not so easy if they have 120 resisting spells.

    But has anyone else noticed that cleansing winds is healing Everyone within a 3 tile radius even when they are not in a party? I was cross healing a blue friend (im in factions SL) who was trying to kill a red (the target was also in factions COM). When cross healing my friend with cleansing winds it would also heal the person he was fighting against if he was within 3 tiles. Thought this was only meant to work if you were grouped.
