I hardly use it anymore, so it's just a :dunce:'s opinion. You may read in the Spellcasters forum for better answers.

First I was delighted for having more, exotic spells and this even without the need of reagents. But soon I realized that the offensive spells like Thunderstorm or Essence of Wind consume too much mana for the damage they do and are much too slow to cast so I neglected them. The actual problem for me was to find enough fellow Arcanists for getting a high Focus level. If you're lucky, Word of Death can make a lot of damage when cast with proper timing. I see people using it against Peerless Bosses for instance.

After the last nerfing I soulstoned it and only use it from time to time as a complemetary skill for either my Treasure Hunter Mage or my Tamer. Gift of Life and Etheral Voyage are still great spells. Dryad Allure is good for getting an Ogre Lord or Orc Brute as an assistance for quick lifting some mid-level treasure chests. Useful, but not as good as Barding skills.
For a Tamer Gift of Renewal is nice to support your pet. Etheral Voyage is a bliss for taming i.e. Greater Dragons. The summons requires only one pet slot and when combined cleverly (i.e. pack instinct) they can to some good additional damage.

A Nox-Mage is rare template in PvM nowadays. So I guess you're doing PvP as well. For this, I have no experiences how useful Spellweaving can be.

    First, cons:
-Every weaving spell consumes a huge amount of mana, requiring steps to be taken to not always be empty of mana (i.e. meditation, focus, MR and/or necro-forms)

-Without several other people available at all times to do a focus (or multiple accounts), weaving is mostly useless. With two people with two accounts, you can get a level 4 focus, which is acceptable. I have one account which leave me always looking for people to do a circle with.

    - Most weaving spells are extremely useful, especially with a high level focus. For example essence of wind will do a lot of cold damage to everything you can see if you have a level 5 or 6 focus. Add the extra penalties for fast cast or recovery with EoW and thunderstorm and you can have a devastating choke point attack. Nature's fury is good in all cases, but with a high focus it can be more powerful than an energy vortex (and you can have 5 of them). The only spells I really don't use on my weaver are summon imp and immolate weapon. The rest have good uses in my style of play.

-Weaving is limited to fast cast 4, which counters the slow cast time beautifully.

Spellweaving is not useful for offensive actions. It has some useful defensive spells, plus the finisher spell Word of Death (which works only against monsters).

Spellweaving isn't that useful if you don't cast a Focus with fellow Arcanists.

Necromancy is more powerful when it comes to offensive actions (PvP).

Spellweaving spells consume a lot of mana.

Full training in spellweaving is more for PvM. The bonus you get for being human (20 spellweaving) is nice for PvP if you can get a no skill focus together. Some of the low level spells are nice for PvP like attunement.
