So I finished up my sampire this weekend after months of dicking about with what to use etc.

My base stats needed changing a bit from what they were on, so I set my STR and INTEL to drop and my DEX to raise.

I thought a few trips to shame or similar would soon sort this out and help get my DEX up. How wrong I was. I went around all of level 2 and level 3 fighting stuff and my stats didnt move at all.

I then read up about the skills that use DEX as a primary. Archery.

I then stoned off one of my skills and went to new haven to get the archery quest. I equipped a bow and headed to old haven.

I got all the way up to 55 archery and my stats still didnt change!!

    What am I doing wrong?

I'm currently rocking 125 STR 110 DEX and 20 INTEL.

I just want to change to 120 STR 125 DEX and 10 INTEL!!!

    Any ideas?

I tried un-equipping an jewels or such like that gave any mods to STR or DEX etc. This didn't make a different either.

    Also I typically use:

    Focus for Dex/Int

    Mediation for Str/Int

They'll raise so fast that your chance of gaining a stat from a skill gain check is pretty great.

Thanks, I'll maybe try stoning off a skill again and trying focus.

Yeah try that.... Just sit in your house or somewhere safe and cast some spell over and over.

If it still doesn't work, I think you might need to try paging a GM and see if there's something they can see.

Yeah its very strange, I've checked and double checked, all stats marked to go up or down correctly. I really thought archery would sort it out.

With focus, do I just need to wonder around to gain (and hopefully get dex) or is there anything I should be doing?

I assume you have Chiv and can cast Noble Sacrifice?

That's the best one, just sit at the bank and cast it.

Focus will gain when you regen Stamina or Mana.

Med will gain when you regen Mana.

    Awesome!!!

Yeah med and focus gain so fast that your chance of gaining a stat from all those skill gain checks is probably way higher using those 2 skills.

I do this all of the time and this is how to raise your Stats: Make sure you have a stat going down if they are maxed.
Make sure the skill your working is set to raise, regardless if it can go up or not. If it is locked or pointing down, you will not get a gain in stats.

    Dex:
Get a musical instrument, set a function key to Last Object, double click the instrument to play it once, then hold down the function key and let the music play. If you are at max total skill points, great. Set Music to raise, it won't, but that makes no difference. If you are not at max skill points, then let Music raise to 20, stone off and repeat. Above 20 points, your wasting your time if it is raising.

    Strength:
Get an ax or shovel, set a function key to Last Object, double click the ax or shovel once, then hold down the function key and chop wood or mine. If you are at max total skill points, great. Set Lumberjack or Mining to raise, it won't, but that makes no difference. If you are not at max skill points, then let Lumberjack or Mining raise to 20, stone off and repeat. Above 20 points, your wasting your time if it is raising. I find that alternating between chopping and mining works better that just one of the skills.

    Int:
Set a function key to Last Skill, get a weapon, and go to Luna Bank. Use Armslore once on your weapon then hold down the function key until you get to 20 points if your not at max. If at max, then just set Armslore to raise. Use the same setup for Anatomy on another player, NPC won't work, or use Spirit Speak. Again, If you are at max total skill points, great. Set the appropriate skill to raise, it won't, but that makes no difference. If you are not at max skill points, then set the skill to raise and use the same logic for max skill points or letting the skill raise to 20, stone off and repeat. I use all three skills at Luna bank for best results.
