Strange deal with UO subscription billing

    Not sure if this has ever happened because I do not watch it that closely typically, but this month EA had started to hit my account for the 2 subscriptions I have. I saw the $12.99 charge per account preautho pending. Yet seven days later when they are supposed to actually debit the money the charges were gone and not one single penny was debited from my account for either account. I freaked figured something was wrong, but I could still log into my account (even now 6 days later). Did they start giving us December free or something?!?!?! :lol:

    Judging from the double and triple charge threads, I'd have to say you can thank your fellow UO players for footing the bill on your accounts. lolz.

    It's better than my friend who has returned, payed and activated all 6 of her accts and it still will not let her log in a full day later! :(

    I am totally baffled about the common business sense of EA accounting. Our guild leaders wife has accounts, I believe 4-6 of them, and her E-Mail account that was her master account name was hacked and then deleted by Yahoo. She cannot get into her master account to update her credit card information. She and her husband have made scores of phone calls, scores of E-Mails, including several to Mesanna, followed every procedure laid out in every page they can find to no avail. Her accounts have been blocked and I fear her houses, one of which is our guildhouse, is going to fall soon. I have even talked to our EM on our shard and she contacted Mesanna and this has not produced any results. They are at wit's end and I believe at this point have almost given up on getting anything done, and if that happens, our guild leader will be gone also. Several of us in guild have found links to new avenues of communication and every time they pursue them, it's a dead end with "Ultima Online is not our responsibility, Sorry, we cannot help" or some other completely frustrating response. Not one has offered a solution or an alternate routing to a solution.

    The "so sad" thing about this is that these two people are the finest folks I have ever known, I have been to their house in real life several times and we talk on Teamspeak, Skype or the phone regularly. They love this game, both of them have played for more years than me, they are old vets, but here's the kicker................

    They met on UO from half a continent apart, got together and were married in real life through meeting in this game.

    How sad is this that something as simple as being unable to update your credit card information because of a hacked E-Mail account loses me my chance to play with my best friends in life and in the game and loses two of the finest folks in the game to everyone? These people have given more stuff and helped more players than anyone I know.

    What did Mesanna say? Since the UO accounts weren't compromised, I would have thought that with information like account names, current credit card number and billing information, a sufficiently trained chimpanzee could put in a new e-mail address! But after all, we're talking about EA...

    Mesanna E-Mailed them back from the first they sent to her saying she didn't understand the problem to which my friend sent back a very detailed e-mail containing all the information. There was no answer to the second one, nor ones sent since then. They have spoken to many people on the phone but no one has said anything but what I said above, "UO is not their responsibility, etc" One even went so far as to phone shrug and say to my guild master when he expressed his dismay, "I guess you'll just have to quit then." They have all the information you mentioned above but that doesn't help if no one will even take responsibility to handle the situation.

    Surely someone with Mesanna's reputation for kindness and helpfulness should understand that!

    I'm starting to get fed up with accounts billing early then accounts closing before time is up because funds aren't available yet.
