How can it be improved?
Starter, change the "attackers stamina" part so it shows weapon speed for more than just 150 stamina as most people now have 180 or higher
Add in a drop down menu to select the monster your killing as i don't know what a bosses skills are so i cant input them.
Also STOP it auto assuming we have 100 lumberjack
From what i can see, everything else looks spot on SM, thanks for the hard work and time you spent building the page
Hey Miner, I am not sure if it falls within your abilty, but when you put your info into say the "chance to block an attack" field which you scroll down the page to see, and hit the "calculate" button, the page reloads and makes you scroll down to the right spot again.
Not a huge thing, but most pages will reload and bring you to the right point in the page.
Along these same lines, can we get a drop down menu, for weapon speed? A drop down of all the weapons would be great. I often load another tab, to double check the speed, especially if it is a weapon I do not ofen use.
First off, not my page, thank Xena Dragon for it, second off, not promising anything but a general sense of what's needed is good.
On the % chance to hit negative DCI doesn't work, but in reality a pvp target can have negative DCI. I would assume that a monster with 0 DCI and hit by HLD would also get negative DCI.
Also, negative HCI doesn't work. I think if a target has 0 HCI and is hit by HLA that target now has negative HCI.
Does it have to scroll to the top everytime calculate is pressed?
On the DI section can you add in perfection and EoO. Did I leave something out?
Apart from the top calculator all the others say "your have" where i think its ment to be "you have"
The first table on the page:
1) Determine Speed of Attack
2) Determine % Chance to Hit
3) Modify for Chance to Block an Attack
4) Determine Base Weapon Damage
5) Determine Damage Bonuses for Tactics, Anatomy, Lumberjacking and Strength
6) Determine Final Damage
7) Determine Damage Distribution
8) Determine Damage Absorption
9) Apply Resulting Damage
The links on the sections will take to that section of the page, and it'll return you to that section for every calculation. You can change default locations by going back to this table and selecting another.
Or if you know anything about anchors:
#damage (Nos. 4-6 all go here)
Just copy/paste that after the page address in the address back
Oh, and in case you were wondering... it'd be really long and involved for me to auto-implement it, just wouldn't be worth my effort
Edit: If you want the page to return to that anchor continually, you'll have to load the page with the anchor in its address rather than loading the regular address and appending the anchor afterward. Not too hard to do though.
You forgot adding in Slayers... planning on this, but it's a little more involved.
Was some odd problem with changing the minimum HCI, DCI and SSI to negative numbers. Think it's interacting with some part of the code i don't have access to funny, but it doesn't actually affect the calculations any, and you were probably going to have to change them from 0 to something else anyway.
Thanks, that helps. What gives negative SSI? I must not have been paying attention to something new.
Can we get the max caps lifted so I can check hit chance against monsters? I put in 174 for a greater dragon and it defaults to 150.
I think a way to stop scrolling is when someone clicks the calculate button that the refreshed web page goes to a page anchor at the location for that calculate button.
Frozen long bow:
has negative ssi
Essence of Wind's curse effect (up to -12 i think), and Stone Form (-10), and, as Petra mentioned, the Frozen Longbow.
Also, Melisande has an attack with -SSI, except I don't know the exact stats on it.
Also, why raise the skill cap? Greater Dragons only have 145 Wrestling maximum.
And, I know, but the calculate is a pre-made function that I dont have access to, and it's the same for all the calculate buttons (and probably the calculate buttons for other pages on the site) so I'd have to create a separate function for each calculate button, or redefine the function, except i dont have access to the file or technically know how to code .php anyway
Oh. I see what I did. The normal Greater Dragon has as you stated, but I went to the paragon page and selected Greater Dragon for 174. Are no other new creatures higher? I hadn't checked.
Nope, even the peerless are lower, but didn't account for paragon difference, so plan to change that sometime.
The page is very useful- thanks to all who have worked on it.
My suggestion is to add a summary at the bottom with all results from above. Currently some scrolling is required.
This would be kind of like the combat portion of some RPG character sheets.
Having fields for stats and skills down there could be good to- then we could print (or save) useful character sheets with pretty complete data.
