In order to prevent and be proactive against issues with the forums a regular schedule for routine maintenance will be started. This will provide us the opportunity to tweak, twitch, collate, and index behind the scenes in what should be as non-intrusive a manner as possible. In order to do this, the 4th Sunday of Every Month at 9pm EST the Forums will be brought down for a short period so we can work some magic behind the scenes.

Think of it as similar to routine maintenance preformed on your vehicle. Just as you would take time out to kick the tires, check their air pressure, make sure the coolant and oil levels are proper, we need to take a bit of time out each month to assure the forums are running at peak performance.

Many of you may have noticed an increase in performance from the boards with the recent emergency maintenance. We want to keep them running at that level or at an even higher level.

Every 3 months we plan on having an extended downtime in order to apply new updates and preform heavier maintenance activities. We will announce those dates separately as they are scheduled. The shorter regular maintenance periods will help minimize the down time during these more in-depth maintenance periods.

The first of the newly Scheduled Regular Maintenance Periods will be Nov. 30th, 2014. We understand that this is a fairly short period since the Emergency Maintenance, but we feel it necessary in order to evaluate the results of the Emergency Maintenance and make a few tweaks.

As always we would like to remind you that all of us here on Staff are volunteers and in the event our other lives interfere with our ability to preform the maintenance an adjusted date will be provided.
