Hey everyone i just logged onto Stratics and got all sorts of Browser warnings being unsafe site. I even at one point got a malicious attempt to access something on my computer and Norton said i should close it right away. I ran my antivirus program and usually going to this site only will bring up one to 3 tracking cookies. THIS TIME IT BRANG UP 36!!!! Anyone else having any issues? I know its this site as i havent gone to anything else yet today.

Of course it is. It's no wonder I have had my personal email account that is tied to this forum attacked and taken over for a few days.

With the new team in place and all of the ads they are trying to squeeze in, of course the site would become a place where hackers would get involved...la

  3. Getting warning everytime I go to any thread in uhall.
This is what my alert says:

    Accessed file infected
    65.111.174.78/files/articles/News/a/ifox3.js
    Exploit IE 6&7 0-day exploit (type 332)

My virus scan says something about Trojan but didnt get the details...

Keeps kicking me off stratics-thats all I can get before getting booted

Well im guess im done with stratics for a little bit. This is annoying getting Malicious webpaged blocked etc things trying to access my computer from here etc. But yes as Cyric said dont ever have an email connected to here that goes to anything else impotrtant. My email connected to here doesnt go to anything just a BS email i setup for here and actually i dont even know the password or login for it, figure i will never need it :) Anyhow Whoever is in Charge of Stratics NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS!!!!

A while ago I got a page that said the database was unavailable while I was trying to read forum messages. At the same time I was having problems accessing UO so I assumes it was a connection issue now I'm wondering... No errors from Norton though.

I'm seeing quite a bit more activity as well. Everything is being blocked just fine.
More attention needs to be payed to where the ads are being served from.

The AVG 'Online Shield' element is triggering the alerts for me - all relate to a link to an IP (with spaces put in by me so it won't work as a link for the twitchy fingered to click on!) and page 65. 111. 174. 78/files/articles/News/wow.htm

That data, in turn, seems to be in an iframe which is attached all over the place, to smileys used in thread titles, or buried in the body of text in posts.

Presumably you're using a version of Windows, if so I'd suggest you just make certain it's fully patched and updated, since that particular .dll was rather problematic a few months back - there's a fair bit more about it here :

well if this thread goes missing.....houston we have a problem.

  13. Really? Do you just dump your car every time you get a flat and go buy a new one?

Right now I'm getting no ads of any kind. I think that TGN/Stratics just might be listening.

There was a database error message being displayed earlier, but it didn't prevent login or posting. I also noted some odd symbols in posts today, which may be where smileys were meant to be.

That may be completely unrelated to whatever on the site that is causing AV programs to trigger now.

I have ads blocked in my browser, and have not received any alerts from my AV programs.

By the way, I have mentioned this a number of times, but although it takes some extra effort on the part of the user, I highly recommend use of a hosts file to block known malware and advertising sites.

I have been using this method for a few years. If you sign up for email updates, when they add new entries to the list for blocking, they will notify you. You can manually install the text file using their instructions or use the batch utility they provide to automatically do it for you. Make sure you follow the instructions for your version of operating system to put the file in the correct place.

P.S. I understand that a lot of sites such as this are fueled by advertisers but I got tired of the constant battle of the banner ads. So...I don't see them now.

Firefox with AdBlock Plus. No issues, altho there was a point where Stratics would not respond. I assume it had something to do with database issues as notes by Skylark. Just a guess, tho.
