2. How far would it's hits, strength and base damage drop once tamed? The only way I can see these dragons being worth 5 control slots is if they didn't UNREALISTICALLY lose stats once tamed. Resistances, damages and movement speed are a dragons worst traits and it looks like these new dragons share these weaknesses. Haven't seen what special abilities they have, but I hope their damn good to make up for these faults and give reason for 5 control slots.

From what i have seen only Strenght drops half when tamed and he looses some skill points. I think he looses 10% of skills but i'm not sure of that completly.

I'm very curious about the skills. I assume 1/2 and 10% too, but I've never tried to Discord-tame a pet. Anyone know if it would reduce a portion of that 10% skill drop?

Anyway, I found one dragon with 133.6 magery, which is slightly more than 120 magery skill and suggests a max of at least 135 magery. I also saw one on the forums at 144.5 wrestling, which suggests 130 wrestling when tamed. Anyone have a thread trying to find the limits?

so far I have:

HP: 1428-1945 (714-972.5)
STR: 1215-1279 (607.5-639.5)
DEX: <=127 (usually around 60 when tamed)
INT: 518-639 (doesn't reduce when tamed)
Bard Diff: 160 when wild, 124.6-136 (+-) when tamed
Phys Res: 60-85 (72.5)
Fire Res: 66-90 (78)
Cold Res: 44-55 (49.5)
Pois Res: 55-60 (57.5)
Ener Res: 61-74 (67.5)
Base Damage: 24-33
Wrestle: 124.1-144.5 (89.3-104*)
Tact: 112-131.8 (80.6-94.9*)
Resist: 111.6-126.8 (80.3-91.3*)
Anat: 0 (0)
Poison: --
Magery: 123.2-136.1 (110-122.5)
Eval Int: 47.2-58.4 (42.2-52.6)
Medi: 0 (0)

*Melee skills seem to drop 28%, not sure if they will raise past the drop

This is interesting...ok so I just tamed one with 124 display wrestling, which should be 111.9, but like you say, it dropped way more than 10% all the way down to 89.5 wrestling. Now, Nico has said her dragon is raising in wrestling after the fact. I wonder how far they can gain up once tamed? The only other monster I know of that works like this is the Reptalon, which can raise up to 120 wrestling depending on what it spawns at, but I am pretty sure Reptalons drop 10% at tame. Magery, however, went from 123.6 to 111.2, which follows the basic 10% drop. Actually, it rounded 111.24 up and gave me 111.3 magery.

On a closer look, Wrestling, Tactics, and Resist all drop more than 10%, while Magery still drops 10%. Hm. The other skills do not pass 100.

Okay, this is quick and dirty, but it seems like a wild dragon's Wrestling, Tactics, and Resist, all drop 28% from display when tamed.
7. Here's how it works...

The new dragons are penalized the same as reptalons when tamed. The only exception is that the magery skill only drops by 10% (that was nice of the devs).

If you tame a dragon that has 150 wrestling, the wrestling cap on the dragon after taming will be 135. The actual skill level in wrestling will be considerably lower, but I'm not sure what the equation is to calculate it. I know it will be 100+, but not sure exactly where it will fall.

So basically, when you tame them, str/hp get chopped in half and combat skills are greatly reduced. You can train the combat skills back up to 90% of what they were pre-tame.

Thanks Sarphus--that is pretty stellar, a dragon with 135 wrestling! Oh my god...if only pets could Honor targets [IMG].
9. yeah...
The thing is that every one of these dragons will have at least one glaring weakness... the stats have such huge range in them that you won't ever see a perfect dragon...

Maybe you'll get lucky and have 135 wrestling on your dragon, but his resists will be horrible... Or his HP...

I love it... you can actually farm different dragons for different tasks.

So the question must be if you should go for best stat/skill combo or skill/resist or stat/resist
I belive a drag whit good stats and resist will in the long run be a beter tank
