This one had stack of alacrity scrolls which he finally decided to work through. So he is bored. He thought he would go over to old shard and make thief there, just for fun and to see different challenges. Bought many new toys, all from vendors. Thought, "this is not so bad." Tried to buy a beelte, and could not. Spent days calling for sale, posted on forum. Well, no beetle- no large deal, he makes tamer to go get his own. It is way to spend time. Point of this is added to from posts of new players coming here. So many are afraid to try Siege. Horror stories and nightmares. Not to say, sadly, maybe to much griping on forums at times? It can sometimes look like no one here gets along. The squeakiest wheel gets noticed. Yet, so many people who come, abandon all at old shard, never to return. Their happiness is Siege found. We must advertise things we have in abundance- like community. This one has seen people GIVE rare, expensive items to people they hardly know. Help new players. Work together. How many "deco crisis" has been posted, with huge response. Maybe old shard is not typical. This one sees many from atlantic and chessapeake- maybe they are better. But the shards he has played on, has no crew like Siege. Siegeites (siegers? siegeigans? siegeidians? siegeese? ) play together, oh yes steal and kill each other but key is together. Something that is done communally. There is atmosphere here, even when this one was young new player with no skills hiding from marauding reds. Hunted and stalked by names that he sees no longer and misses. Never felt alienation, fear, dislike. Always felt like all were playing together. After you have been here a while, it becomes like background noise. You see it no longer and it remains carpet hidden. But taking it for-granted is so sad. It may be our most precious commodity. How to make this known to other shards/players? How to remember to notice and appreciate? Siege really is best shard. It is like strange looking meal. One does not want to put it in mouth. To odd looking and smelling. But when it is tasted- yum! Just a thank you to all players here on Siege, for making this place truly magical and fun.
